About OWEN STEPHENS
Owen Kirker Clifford Stephens was born in 1970 in Norman, Oklahoma. He was introduced to gaming by his uncle in 1979 (though his uncle now claims no memory of the event) and was instantly hooked. For the past 30 years he's never gone long without running or playing in an ongoing RPG campaign.
As Owen's notes for his many house rules, campaigns, adventures, custom classes, and organizations grew, he was encouraged by his wife Lj to get some of the material published. His first efforts were accepted by publishers that went bankrupt before his work could be published. Unable to take a hint, in 1997 he attended the TSR Writer's Workshop in Seattle. Shortly afterward his first professional work was published in issue 251 of Dragon, and Owen began to see a potential career.
Owen moved to the Seattle area in 2000 after accepting a job at Wizards of the Coast. Fourteen months later, he returned to Oklahoma and picked up his freelance career with considerably greater skill and more contacts. He has written freelance for numerous companies, including WotC, Paizo, Green Ronin, White Wolf, Steve Jackson Games and Upper Deck, on projects such as Star Wars Roleplaying Game Saga Edition, Thieves' World RPG, EverQuest RPG, numerous D20 Modern and Dungeons & Dragons books, The Guide to Absalom and other Pathfinder RPG books. For four years he oversaw the creation of a Pathfinder-compatible PDF every week for Super Genius Games.
He is now the Pathfinder Developer for Green Ronin and the Publisher for Rogue Genius Games, amongst other game industry jobs.
