Hello! Welcome to my table. Before we start, please do the following:
Please complete the macros linked at the top of the page. This will be used for initiative and secret rolls.
Please also post your token to the slides and post your position in the marching order. The slides are also linked at the top of the page.
As per the Organized Play Foundation Community Standards, each player must decide if they will allow their characters to be damaged by friendly fire (usually via splash damage). In keeping with the “Explore, Report, Cooperate” motto of the Pathfinder Society, engaging in non-consensual character-versus-character conflict is prohibited. While accidental friendly fire happens due to missed attack rolls or other factors, players must obtain the consent of other players before deliberately including fellow PCs in damaging effects. This rule does not apply in situations where a character is not acting of their own free will, such as if they’re being mind-controlled by an NPC and forced to attack a fellow Pathfinder.
This applies to Scenarios only
You may select a consumable item from the Pathfinder Provisions list. These used to be the school items you get prior to starting an adventure. Quests and bounties do not receive provisions.

If your class isn't listed in the Macros (Commander/Guardian), ignore the Class field :)
Guiseppino The Long-Nosed
|
Done with Macros and Slides. Three glyphs to share. Minor healing potion for Pathfinder Provision.
Kordak, Duty's Bulwark
|
Kordak should be ready as well.
While out of combat he'll keep his shield raised and his boots will have his divine spark so that he can keep up with the group.

and Maru is adorable... :)
I'm gonna have to run down the 6th PC...

I need to level my Tanuki to 2 and fill out all the things, but I am here.

Irina is here by special request. She is level 3 but since she's a caster I've swapped out her normal load for more support spells in order to give the lower levels the ability to shine.

actually you're all here by special request. Calla Tilly is new to PbP so I'm looking to give her a great introductory experience.

Thanks, GM Tiger! That really means a lot.
This is my first time playing PbP, and I’m really excited to jump in— so any general advice on pacing posts, formatting rolls, or keeping things flowing smoothly would be super helpful!
I’m playing a ranger for this adventure, so if anyone has tips on how to make the most of ranger abilities or roleplay moments in a PbP format, I’d love to hear them.
Thanks in advance for any guidance. Everyone’s introductions have already been a joy to read and I’m really looking forward to adventuring with you all! :)

Tempest, do you have the link to the botting spoiler template please? I thought I had it but turns out I don't. Been trying to help Tilly create a botting spoiler (start building those good PbP habits early!) :)

I created a PBP Character Template that has a BOT ME section. You can copy just the Bot Me section and use it on your profile if you would like. When used on your profile, the dice expressions stay intact.
I usually keep my character in a google doc like this and then update the google doc when I need to level, copying and pasting it to my character.
You can make the Bot Me section a spoiler, but I have started leaving it out in the open since it's the section of my sheet I always access.
Hmm

So let's talk about what a botting section is used for.
1) It can help out your GMs and fellow players if real life erupts for a few days, preventing you from posting.
2) It can help out you because you can copy and paste the dice rolls, leaving more time for you to compose fun roleplay in your posts.

Thank you so much, GM Tiger. And Tempest, for taking the time to explain and share your advice! I really appreciate the guidance — it’s super helpful to understand how botting sections work and how to make things smoother for everyone.
I’ll check out that character template as I am currently setting up my own botting section. Definitely want to start good PbP habits early.

Please note that Paizo.com will be shutting down for a few days starting 8am Pacific Time to implement their new storefront. The boards will be inaccessible until this is complete.
I suggest we pause the game until then so that we don't lose any updates.

Sounds fine to me.
If you are on Paizo’s mailing list, they have promised to send out a message when the system is back up. As with any tech upgrade, there is a little uncertainty as to when the system will be ready.

So skill challenges tend to be a matter of statistics, especially for those where you can’t act again until everyone else has acted.
If a critical failure will put the group back a success, in general the chances of a reroll only being a failure (therefore not costing the group a success) are generally higher than the best person in the group’s chances of getting a success.
I can go through the math in detail, but it comes out to the challenge needs to be reasonable so there is a limit of how difficult they can make that check. At these levels, you are not going to have a difference of 10 in the skills, so people are not going to have a better chance of success than you are going to have of rerolling and avoiding a critical failure.
Note that at higher levels with untrained skills, you can have situations where the chances of replacing a critical failure with a failure may be less than the chances of someone else getting a success. That is what can make Untrained Improvisation so great at 7th level.

Long-Nose is out sick so I'll bot him if needed.

Thanks for the explanation — that actually makes a lot of sense! Thanks for breaking that down. I’m still new to PbP and I, uh, may have just provided a perfect demonstration of what happens when the dice decide to humble a ranger mid-skill challenge — this round my crit fail actually cost the group a success firsthand. I’ll definitely keep that in mind for future skill challenges — sometimes avoiding a crit fail really is the better contribution. Appreciate the insight!

Everyone feel free to check the spoilers when Irina is speaking with animals. I really just formatted it like that because I think it's funnier to hide her speech that way.

@Tilly,
Yeah, I know you are just getting your feet wet with RPGs. It isn’t something everyone realizes unless they think about it and look at the math.
Things like that are also why a lot of my characters take Untrained Improvisation at 7th level. By about that point, it becomes worth it to avoid the crit fail caused by being untrained. Rogues and Investigators generally do not need it, but many of the other classes tend to have too many skill gaps. Clerics and Champions tend to need it the most.
@Irina,
I’ve been peeking after making responses. I greatly enjoy that your character is doing this, but I’ve enjoyed all of your characters that I have met so far.

It's the main reason why I invited Irina (or Halgur) to join this one. My favorite has always been Prof Bun Bun (who is the inspiration for Bun Helsing)...
Tilly requested I run Shipyard for her live. So I'll be sacrificing my dignity oooking in public... :)

Oh, that’s super helpful — thanks for taking the time to explain all that (and for bearing with the newbie fumbles)! I’m definitely still figuring things out.

Haha, guilty as charged! thanks GM Tiger for being willing to run it live, I promise your noble oooking sacrifice won’t be in vain.

Calla Tilly --
1) If you want to attack non-lethally with a lethal weapon like a bow you will need to take a -2 to your shot to aim for the areas that don't kill.
2) Pink can't surrender. It's unconscious, but the good news is that it is out of the fight and we didn't kill it.
3) You get two actions back... whee!
4) I hope that you, Frost and Froggy are all keeping safe from the typhoon.
Hugs!
