Since this is already a pretty bonkers concept, would you consider adopting the Automatic Bonus Progression variant? That would allow us players to not worry about the fundamental rune minigame and relieve some of the stress over who's spending how much of the money on what.
Will we get an alert that we're fighting the Final Boss encounter? Sweep wipe with dramatic music, maybe? ;)
Caine is a swashbuckler, Princess is a fire kineticist.
My original idea for this was a rather self-sufficient monk.
I also have an investigator idea and a fighter idea.
I'm also trying hard to see if I can come up with a cleric idea.

DoubleGold |

Yeah, I agree with Princess, that one does screw over other classes, besides if you are getting double the treasure where you can afford all the runes, you don't need automatic ones as well.
I've had very little experience playing with that rule, it would be harder for me to GM it, so I will have to say no on that.
Yes, you'll know it is the final fight of each book.

Dorian 'Grey' |

Caine will look kindly on a Dancing Flanking partner!
Also, he having a Wis 8 will preclude him having any Wisdom skills.

DoubleGold |

I'm going to Start Tuesday, that will give everyone time to put characters together.

Kwai Chang Caine. |

Definitely going with Caine. He should be fun.
He will not have any Healing capability, but he does have plenty of skills, talents, showcatship.
Also, he brings presents for our Casters.

Shi Xin Wang |

Settled on an ancestry and picked an avatar.
I have a couple of pathways that I could go to put healing into my build--after 1st level.

Shi Xin Wang |

Tentative build through level 10: LINK.
Edited link.

Princess Caravalle |

Tentative build through level 10: LINK.
the link leads to generic pathbuilder, not your character.

One of my bucket list character concepts--that I decided to continue to save for a different style game--is a vishkanya forensic medicine investigator, if you want to steal that idea. Devise a Stratagem lets you make sure you never waste your poison by letting you see your roll, poison, and then use the roll to strike.

I'd suggest medic on that. With two different bonuses to battle medicine it's one of the best healers.
Then after you have enough medic, ypu could go poisoner to get more poisons that you won't waste.

Kwai Chang Caine. |

Caine Catfolk Swashbuckler
Princess Caravalle Sprite fire kineticist.
Shi Xin Wang Ancestry ? Ranger ?
Zarris Ge Human (Tiefling) Sorcerer (Arcane)
? Ancestry ? Investigator
Do we have anyone who plans on Healing?
Investigator can make for a good Medic.
I have a strong feeling that Caine will be bleeding a lot.

Shi Xin Wang |

Shi Xin Wang Ancestry = "looks human" ;)
My ranger build is pretty decent. I'm looking at Exemplar, Monk, and Fighter (that extra +2 to hit is pretty appealing when we're facing buffed monsters). The builds certainly aren't primary healers.

Kwai Chang Caine. |

Anyone have a link to Mythic rules?
I am only finding reddit stuff.
@ Shi Xin Wang we have an Exemplar in my Quest for Frozen Flame game. Seems cool, although I haven't looked at the actual Class (not on Nethys yet).
Fighter is definitely good. Played one in Fist of Ruby Phoenix. Also, playing one on WotR 2e conversion.
I have yet to play a Monk.
Currently playing a Minotaur Ranger (Precision) in Abomination Vaults. Only 2nd, but definitely fun already.
Caine will have 1 big Strike per Round. His other two Actions will be Acrobatics, Performance, or Strides.

There are no links except paid Demiplane access for rule and no links to callings/feats except paid Demiplane or free Pathbuilder. There are free links to destinies on Demiplane and inside free Pathbuilder. I can summarize, though.
General: You start play with 3 Mythic points. You spend them as free actions with the Fortune trait to re-roll a Skill at Mythic Proficiency (10+level) bonus.
Since we're not playing a mythic campaign but rather using the mythic rules to be "over-powered," the usual way to regain Mythic points--defeat Mythic challenges--isn't there except by GM decision.
Character Creation:
Choose a Mythic Calling at 1st level.
They come with an Edict, an Anathema, and a way to gain a Mythic point by critically succeeding a specific skill check once per day.
Best choices for Caine would be Acrobat's Calling (regain a Mythic point on the first critical Acrobatics to Tumble Through in combat of the day) or Thespian's Calling (regain a Mythic point on the first critical Performance of the day).
They also let you use a Mythic point to roll specific skill checks with Mythic proficiency--rather than re-rolling--and it doesn't have the Fortune trait.
2nd-10th level, you get a separate line of feats for Mythic feats.
The 2nd level ones are pretty lackluster but have niche uses. They each provide another skill check or two that you can use your Mythic point on to roll--not re-roll--the check with Mythic proficiency and some grant a minor niche benefit (like adding 10 rounds to Hold Breath duration for the swimming one or adding damage to a grapple attempt if the target is already grappled by someone else). There are 2 ones that add new uses for Mythic points: Ears that Hear the Truth allow you to spend a Mythic point to roll Sense Motive or Initiative at Mythic proficiency. We've Met Before allows you to spend a Mythic point and gain a Lore skill on a specific individual creature that you've spoke with for at least 1 minute; the Lore skill lasts for 24 hours and can be used for Recall Knowledge on that individual and Decipher Writing for writings by that individual.
At 12th level, you will choose a Mythic Destiny, and take Destiny feats from 14th-20th, which add a bunch of high level Mythic feats you can take in your Mythic feat slot.
Currently published Destinies are: Apocalypse Rider (become a horseman of the apocalypse with a mount), Archfiend (become an Archfiend with your own conjurable zone of Hell), Ascended Celestial (become a celestial), Broken Chain (become a legendary freedom fighter), Eternal Legend (become a legendary hero; focuses on physical ability), Godling (become a god and allow a fellow PC to be your high priest), Prophesized Monarch (become a hero destined to rule and assign your fellow PCs as your knights), Beast Lord (must have an animal companion and the animal becomes a legendary beast), Wildspell (must be able to cast spells from slots, becomes a legendary spellcaster).
I can make a shareable document with the feats text as we advance. Hopefully, Archives will have caught up before too long.

Much appreciated, BT! That was extremely nice of you!
Both those Callings definitely fit...hmmm.... probably Thespian's Calling for him.
Both his Acrobatics and Performance will automatically increase at the proper levels, so that will allow him to increase 3 other skills. Tentatively, Diplomacy, Deception and Stealth, or Thievery depending on party needs.

Here is a link to all of the Mythic Callings.
I'm now leaning hard on Fighter as a debuff Fighter.

I know my character.
It's a Human (skilled) Forensic Medicine Investigator. I'll go with the Medic archetype, and Caretaker's Mythic Calling.
As you see I'm embracing the healer role.
Addendum: I'll be going with the Butcher background from the Player's Guide. I'll be updating the character sheet tomorrow morning (Europe time).

Quick question: How common are circumstance bonuses in pf2e? I'm considering Known Weaknesses for my class feat, but if the bonus is superfluous, I'll choose another thing.

Shi Xin Wang |

Circumstance bonuses to an Attack are uncommon except for Aid, which presumably nobody would use to help someone when they knew that other person already had a circumstance bonus from Know Weakness.

Question about Ancestral Paragon. It's a level 3 feat, so do we wait until 3rd level to gain the benefits?
I know the confusion here. The Ancestral Paragon Rule, not the Ancestral Paragon feat.
The Ancestral Paragon feat is a general feat which allows you to gain an extra 1st level Ancestry Feat.
We are playing with the Ancestral Paragon rule. This means you gain 2 Ancestry Feats at level 1. An Ancestry Feat at level 3, level 5, level 7, level 9, level 11, level 13, level 15, level 17 and level 19. You may still take the Ancestry Paragon feat as your 3rd level general feat if it want, but you will have plenty of Ancestry feats, so your 3rd level general feat is probably better spent elsewhere.

And a note about ancestral paragon. You should look to see if they have enough feats that fit your character as they go up. Some ancestries are a little thin, so you should really consider going with a versatile heritage to fill out the options.
Or take adopted Ancestry as a General Feat at level 3. There are enough feats for each ancestry to cover Ancestral Paragon, but for some races they aren't very great depending upon which class you are playing. Like if you are a fighter, you don't need the weapon training ancestry feat, which almost all of races have. Or if you are a Rogue with 18 int, you probably don't need the ancestry feat that gives you 2 extra skills, unless you are trying to be trained in every single skill.

Shi Xin Wang |

Background ~ Recent Past
Shi Xin Wang had been a part of Mistress Dusklight's Celestial Menagerie since before Myron Stendhal had been a part of the cruel catfolk's shows. He had been taken in by Mistress Dusklight, penniless and poor, and then quickly exploited. He was eager to leave and joined the other rebelling performers in order to escape the daily humiliation of living inside a cage during the shows and staying shut inside the menagerie during his time not performing (usually shoveling dung or washing cages).
Since joining with Myron and the others in the Circus of Wayward Wonders, he has devised an act of his own that lets him spread his legs. He steps into a wardrobe and emerges as an orange tabby. As a tabby, he performs a series of hoop jumps and other acrobatics maneuvers before returning to the wardrobe where he changes back into a man to finish the act.
In both forms, Shi Xin Wang's eyes are vivid carnelian.

I didn't forget about this, I was just making sure everyone had their characters ready. Expect an opening post tonight.

Caine my have Cat Scratch Fever !

Kwai Chang Caine. |

Hi, I filled Madam Scootch's profile. Please read it and comment if you like. I will not get offended if you have suggestions.
I am currently playing an Investigator. With having a Str +0 and Dex +1 you will be entirely reliant on Devise A Stratagem for your Offensive output.
That roughly allows 60% of needing another choice of Offense. I would suggest attempting to get an Offensive Cantrip for those occasions.

Shi Xin Wang |

With the rules we're playing under, you're going to be critically hit a lot.
I would recommend +1 Str +2 Dex +0 Con +4 Int +2 Wis +0 Cha.
Or even +1 Str +3 Dex +0 Con +4 Int +1 Wis +0 Cha.
Either way I'd work toward Assurance in Medicine by 3rd level, then you're guaranteed DC 15.

Kwai Chang Caine. |

He is an Investigator. So his Int 18 is fixed.
I only suggest an alternative to DaS when it rolls low. Although, that does bring up a good point. Innate Cantrips use Cha, I believe for Spell Attack and DCs, so something to also consider.
EDIT
But you are not wrong unless playing him as a "Caster".
I read your array incorrectly. Apologies. Agreed about AC though. Investigator is MADD.

Also, in this game at the end of each book, there are suppose to be circus performances. You are suppose to upgrade your circus, pay money, but you get money in return.
I'm not doing that. Everyone will add 3 lore skills, and they upgrade automatically as if you took the additional lore skill feat. All 3 of these are rolled as your downtime at the end of each book and each is multiplied by 24, you can attempt at your level. so you can have 3 successes and you will earn money X72. But they have to pertain to the circus directly or indirectly. Please justify answers for any example I didn't give.
Examples: Circus Lore, Cats Lore, Elephants Lore, Clowns Lore, Trains Lore(Some circuses travel by train, though I'm pretty sure no trains exist in Pathfinder, so don't pick it, acceptable, but useless outside of making money)., Weather Lore(as weather may affect who comes). Cotton Candy Lore(example of an acceptable lore but useless outside of making money), Beer Lore, Fire Lore, Peanuts Lore, Monkeys Lore, Tents Lore, Engineering Lore(Somebody had to build the tent, the ladders and the walkways, if it weren't for those people acrobats would walk on unstable platforms). Undead Lore(No, I've never seen undead at a circus, I put this one here as an example of an unacceptable lore).
Dogs Lore(Also a No example, I've seen cats, mostly tigers at a circus, this is a circus, not a dog show).
Lores: Anything else you can think of.
You can also be vague and say Animals Lore, but the more specific a lore skill is, the better bonus it provides outside of earn income. Cats lore gets you a better bonus than animals lore and tigers lore gets you a better bonus than cats lore when identifying the specific creature. The biggest possible bonus is +5.
Post in here your 3 choices.
