Ceilidh heals some of Iseph's wounds, then lands a pair of shots on the remaining shark! Iseph, still skidding backwards from the insistent advertising, lands a carefull-aimed shot of their own, and DeGriz adds another for good measure, though his followup goes wide.

The shark, still with Tyrant in its jaws, attempts to swallow the vesk!

Athletics to Swallow Whole vs. Reflex DC: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 25
Athletics to Swallow Whole vs. Reflex DC, 2nd attempt: 1d20 + 18 - 5 ⇒ (13) + 18 - 5 = 26

It can't manage to get the struggling warrior down its gullet, but it maintains its firm grip. Two failed attempts. Spending its third action to maintain Grab.

The Tyrant grins, showing her own teeth. "Bit off more than you can chew, motherfracker!"

Releasing one hand from her machine gun, she pulls out a grenade, and pulls the pin with her jaws. Stuffing it down the creature's gullet, she tries to escape.

I mean, just shooting it from its mouth seemed cool, but ... "Jaws," y'all. And if I take damage, it's still worth it.
Interact to draw superior incendiary grenade, activate grenade, Escape

    Grenade (I think I'm doing this right), clumsy 1: 1d20 + 20 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 20 - 1 = 38
    Fire: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (8, 7) + 3 = 18 Hmm. That's a really disappointing damage/mechanic here. Oh well, it's a playtest...
If you have the critical weapon specialization of grenades (which I think I do...), creatures who critically fail their saving throw against incendiary grenades are knocked 10 feet away from the grenade. But I think it's also not counting on stuffing it down its throat...

Tyrant flat check to draw grenade while grabbed, DC 5: 1d20 ⇒ 10

As a seat-of-my-pants GM ruling, I'm going to cap the shark's level of success on its save at Fail (meaning it can only Fail or Crit Fail), since it can't exactly avoid a grenade in its gullet.

Reflex vs. grenade: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27 You didn't include a DC, but I think this should be a failure at this level. It takes full damage, but that's unfortunately not quite enough damage to reach it's rupture value.

Tyrant stuffs a grenade down the shark's gullet, then wriggles free of its grip! Even applying a multiple-attack penalty to that escape attempt, that's still enough to succeed.

Meanwhile, the adbot circles back around to DiGriz, popping up an ad for mono-filament wire!

Lol, sorry, mixed up editions. Religion not Mysticism. I've rolled a secret check for Ceilidh:

Ceilidh recognizes these as Famesworns. They are amalgamations of the corpses of fame-seekers who died before they could become famous. They have a frightful presence, but if you manage to save against said presence, it hurts their pride so much they take actual damage. Speaking of which, everyone, please make me two (2) DC 27 Will saves.

Taking the elevator to street level, you emerge into a city scene. Buildings tower 60 feet overhead, and a three-tiered fountain at the center bears a statue of Zo! The rim of the lowest tier of the fountain is 2 feet high; each subsequent tier is 5 feet higher than the previous. Spaces with debris are difficult terrain.

Bystanders flee in terror as two huge creatures, appearing to be bloody amalgamations of corpses and video equipment, tear into the nearby buildings.

“Hey, those corpses look familiar, don’t they Lethea?” Quell’s voice calls out from the projected video screen overhead.
“You’re right, Quell! I think they’re past contestants! Must have escaped from the Zo!Dome’s mortuary.”

Sorry, i should have included that information. This is the standard Frightful Presence ability. The following do not stack, so essentially you take the worse of your two saves:

  • Critical Success The creature is unaffected by the presence.
  • Success The creature is frightened 1.
  • Failure The creature is frightened 2.
  • Critical Failure The creature is frightened 4.

Furthermore, if you succeeded against an aura (so for instance, DeGriz against #1), you can spend an action to cause further damage to their ego (and hence to them) by succeeding at a Demoralize check, Performance check, or Recall Knowledge check using a performance- or fame-related Lore skill against their Will DC.

Iseph and Ceilidh's shots thud harmlessly into masses of gristle, doing no damage. Iseph, though, wiping the spots from their eyes, lands a perfectly-aimed shot that smashes the microphone right out of the hands of one of the corpses, eliciting a howl of rage! Including Get 'Em, I think that's 44 points of damage on the crit.

The red creature moves right up next to Iseph, eliciting another opportunistic shot from the android. an armada of camera drones and flying microphones begins to swirl, soon engulfing the whole intersection in a bludgeoning flurry of media equipment!
