You are escorted back to the Administrative Building where Caleria, stuck behind a huge stack of paperwork, waves you into the Mayor's office without an announcement.
The guard with you calls out to Mayor Trinelli, "Mayor I've brought the individuals you requested."
Inside the office you hear, "Thank you Dante, they can enter."
As you go inside it seems the Mayor is tense as she forgoes any pleasantries and asks, "Did you find them?"

![]() |

"We have a p-p-p . . ."

Grizzlebin |

"Promising lead. Sorry kid, we don't wanna be here all night. There's this warehouse, and we think one of the apprentices took another there. So less jibber-jabbering, if you ask me," says Grizzlebin. "Uh, no offense, Madame Mayor."

![]() |

"Do you have new information that can help us? We were just getting ready to go and inspect the warehouse when you summoned us."

GM Shadow Dragon |

The Mayor nods, "Yes it sounds like the warehouse is the next step. I'll have the town guard clear the area around it to keep prying eyes and ears at bay. Dante, please see to it."
The young guard salutes and trots off to carryout his orders.
A quick bookkeeping question: I'm assuming at some point the group intends to return to the Vazarro house to clear out the demon bile from Gellion's room?

![]() |

Cannoli meant to do that but we had pod people in cocoons so she got distracted.

I assumed our cold iron mace wielding oracle already did that...

Guardian heads towards the door, assuming the mayor won't hold them any longer.
We must escape... before the mayor thinks of more to say or ask!

Noticing a couple of wounds on members of the party Mayor Trinelli adds, "I have made a donation of fifty gold pieces to the Temple of Erastil as a stipend in case you need healing before going to the warehouse. Good luck."
As the group departs Caleria looks up from her paperwork to say, "Go get 'em tigers!" Looking at Cannoli she adds, "Literally in your case."

![]() |

Victor thanks the Mayor as the party head out of the office.
"Did anyone have anything they needed to do before we head to the warehouse, or are we good to go straight there?"

![]() |

I do not have a tiger-shaped mode, but I will do my best all the same.
Ready for the warehouse

GM Shadow Dragon |

Waiting to see if anyone needs healing, etc. or if you're proceeding to the warehouse.

![]() |

"I'm ready to g-g-go!"

![]() |

I looked back four pages and only see that Vreeka and Guardian took one damage from the fire trap, is there other damage anyone took? If not, I say we go. Also, Cannoli will happily heal anyone up or use people’s wands on them. But only if you ask. :P

![]() |

I'm fine with going to the warehouse now.

![]() |

Victor is good with going to the warehouse if everyone else is ready.

GM Shadow Dragon |

As the sun sets the group follows their map to the warehouse. Townspeople were already heading on the way home or to an inn but you notice, as you get closer to the Conerica River and the docks, that the town guard are discretely directing people away from your destination.
You overhear snippets of, "Runaway barge workers" and "Some kids up to no good" but the town guard seems to pay you no mind.
As you draw closer suddenly some...thing...appears out of nowhere and attacks Victor!
Claws 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 261d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Fort Victor: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Dex Damage: 1d2 ⇒ 2
@Victor: Victor takes 3 HP of damage and 2 Dex.
Ini Cannoli: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Ini Guardian XI: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Init Vreekka: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Init Daegon: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Init Victor: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Init Jakeric: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9
Init Monster!: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Round 1 - What's that thing?!?!
Monster!
Cannoli
Vreekka
Jakeric and Grizzlebin
Guardian XI
Daegon
Victor (-13 HP, -2 Dex)
Since it won inits it gets to 'double up' on it's action.
The thing is so fast it attacks Victor before the group can react!
Claws 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 241d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Claws 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 191d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Bite: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 211d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
@Victor: Good grief I'm sorry. :( Due to the Dex loss Victor's AC dropped by one so he took all 3 hits. So that's a total of -13 HP and -2 Dex.
An FYI: Yes it's Stealth plus (make a Spellcraft check) is good enough to evade even Victor's Perception if he rolled a 20. I put an icon for it on the new map, Slide 2, but it's actually a very small creature and is in Victor's square. Everyone is UP! Knowledge (Planes) will provide information about the creature; let me know what you want to know about when you make the roll.

![]() |

Whatever it is, it's not friendly...
Guardian takes a wide arc to get into flanking position...
[move] 25ft
[standard] attack
shadow weapon attack (flank), slashing damage: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 2 = 272d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17
confirm?, crit slashing damage: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 2 = 242d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5) + 6 = 16
From behind he's able to slash quite strongly down onto the creature, cleaving a large portion off.

![]() |

Wow, these are six very nice rolls, Guardian! You should praise Desna! :-D
I will wait with posting Vreekka's actions to see if combat is already over or not...

![]() |

"Oh no, Victor!" Jakeric looks on with alarm as the creature slashes the Pathfinder to ribbons. "Don't worry--I'll s-save you!" The young God-Caller rushes over to the confront the beast just as Guardian's shadow weapon manifests!
I'm also guessing there's a good chance Guardian's crit took it out, but I'll put a quarterstaff attack in spoilers just in case.
@GM: Can you give us a general (non-spoilerly) description of the "thing"--is it winged, reptilian, furry, etc.? I find it helps me figure out how to RP a response!
attack: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
damage (B): 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

Grizzlebin |

"Great kid, but who's going to save you?" Grizzlebin tries to snatch up the tiny-but-deadly creature!
Grizzlebin will try to grapple the creature (this will provoke an AoO because he doesn't have Improved Grapple).
Grizzlebin's CMB vs creature's CMD: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

GM Shadow Dragon |

Guardian XI twitches into action...he eyes the creature, then points out into the distance.
He's calling his shot! How arrogant!
He then makes a powerful up-arcing stroke and connects, literally atomizing the creature and spraying its remains over himself, Victor, and Cannoli!
Technical Point: Guardian XI would've needed to be in the square Jakeric's token is for flank. Remember I wrote it was a very small creature and was actually *IN* Victor's square. Just an FYI in the rare event the group faces another Tiny creature. :)
@Vreekka: Would you like to make a Knowledge (Planes) check to learn about the creature?
@Victor: Please make two separate Heal checks and he would not be able to take 10 or use Guidance on them. If someone else wants to cast Guidance on Victor they may do so.

![]() |

Knowledge: Planes t: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

GM Shadow Dragon |

[dice=Knowledge: Planes t]1d20+7
Vreekka recognizes, from her brief glimpse at the creature before it was atomized, that it was a Quasit - a tiny demon. Unlike the other creatures seen about Saringallow this was *not* created; it's a true demon.
Since you didn't request any particular information:
She also knows they can inject poison with a bite and that might explain why Victor doesn't look so good.

![]() |

Cannoli frowns, ”What’s the point of all this armor if the critters are so small they just bite around it! Argh, what a jerk. Good job G, nice swing.”
She reaches out and taps Victor on the shoulder, feeding healing energy into his body, ”There ya go bud, fixed right on up.”
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

![]() |

Victor could swear he was being attacked by a small angry creature with teeth and claws, but it must have been some sort of trick of the light playing off of this fine red mist! That said it would explain all of the bleeding.
Victor tries to fix himself...
heal + healers kit: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 2 = 19
heal + healers kit: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 2 = 29
...while thanking his allies for there help in dealing with whatever it was that just happened.
Are other party members allowed to aid another on those roles?

![]() |

Vreekka - who is trained in healing - tries to help, too...
Aid Heal: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Aid Heal: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Of course. :) But Victor did well enough on his own to succeed both checks. I'll keep Daegon's and Vreekka's rolls on deck because more saves are on the way.
Corroborating what Vreekka told the group Victor indeed knows he has been poisoned. He applies his skills to help his body fight off the venom!
Fort Victor, with Heal check: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 4 = 15
Daegon and Vreekka team up to apply their knowledge to Victor's wounds:
Taking their two rolls to allow Victor to cast Guidance on himself.
Fort Victor, with Heal check, Guidance: 1d20 + 6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 4 + 1 = 18
Using Vreeka's last roll
Vreekka confirms that the combined effort has ended the poison's damage to Victor.
Cannoli healed Victor for 3 so he's still down 10 HP. I'm guessing that's going to be resolved so I'll let others step in with wands/scrolls/potions if need be. As a reminder Mayor Trinelli made a 50 GP donation at the Temple of Erastil and Father Ruvarra does have the capability to cast lesser restoration. The cost is 60 GP so it would require 10 GP out of pocket if the group wants to restore Victor's Dex before proceeding.

![]() |

Wow, these are six very nice rolls, Guardian! You should praise Desna! :-D
Guardian likes and subscribes to Desna!
And yes, those damage rolls were pretty far over expected value for a crit. Very very fortunate.
Guardian XI twitches into action...he eyes the creature, then points out into the distance.
He's calling his shot! How arrogant!
He then makes a powerful up-arcing stroke and connects, literally atomizing the creature and spraying its remains over himself, Victor, and Cannoli!
Guardian rounds the bases!

![]() |

Cannoli starts picking pieces of tiny devil out of her fur, ”Squishier than I expected. I figured with the horns and all it wouldn’t be, but that’s why we do this job. To learn stuff. Probably.”

![]() |

"It's great that you beat the poison, Victor, but you still look like crap. You better go to the Temple of Erastil and let Father Ruvarra heal you."
She turns to the android.
"That was truly a mighty chop, Guardian. Though my friend Grunjar would say that Desna guided your hand and you should thank her."
I give you one lucky guess which deity my -1 (a dwarven cleric) serves... ;-)

![]() |

Victor heads to the Temple of Erastil and enquires if Farther Ruvarra would be open to the idea of Victor covering the remaining 10 gp for lesser restoration by providing his own spell casting services to the temple (ideally once the party have dealt with the current situation). After all, Victor did heal all of those ill towns people earlier, is looking for Father Ruvarra's apprentice and the party did save him one casting of lesser restoration earlier by using their potion on Altius Vazarro.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26 I assume the conversation would be far to long to use guidance.
He will also heal himself (using a couple of the potions that the party found earlier if everyone is good with that)
cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Of course, that makes sense!

Cannoli will plunk 10 gold down as a donation even if Victor succeeds.

I would be fine with it but I don't know if PFS rules allows that kind of exchange. Would any of the more experienced GMs care to weigh in on the topic? I see Cannoli kicked in 10 GP so it won't be an issue either way.
Father Ruvarra will spend the three minutes praying over Victor for healing from Erastil:
Lesser Restoration: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Afaik it’s a no go in society play, unless the scenario has it as an option. So it never hurts to try, but usually doesn’t give a discount.

We'll see if someone with obscure knowledge chimes in but that was my guess. This scenario does have provisions for the 50 GP stipend plus the 10% discount at the general store but that's all that I've read.

Jakeric speaks up. "S-surely these events are related--an attack by an abominable demon just as we make our way to the w-warehouse!"

Is Jakeric saying this in front of Father Ruvarra?

![]() |

Sure!

GM Shadow Dragon |

Father Ruvarra clearly panics at the revelation, "A demon? In Saringallow? Are you certain of this???"

![]() |

"Relax, good Father, the demon is already dead. Guardian here lived up to his name and cut it in half with only one chop."

![]() |

Guardian flashes a cheesy grin and holds up his shadow blade on Vreekka and Daegon's cue.

GM Shadow Dragon |

Random; Guardian XI=1, Cannoli=2, Victor=3: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Father Ruvarra takes a closer look at Victor and asks, "Wait is that a tiny ear in your hair??? It seems Erastil has provided Saringallow the heroes we need."

![]() |

Yeah, maybe we're not the heroes Saringallow wanted, but we are the ones that were dumb enough to take the job... were available... they need...
"Yes, and we need all the support we can get, good Father. Being a hero is very dangerous, as you can see..." Vreekka gestures to Victor.
Aid Diplomacy: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0 LOL. Well, I tried...

If that's a genuine typo it's one of the funniest ever!
