Did any of the touch attacks hit the blue-dotted taer?
Yes, the first two. Either I was looking at regular AC or they slipped my mind in my prior post. Both were needed to reduce the Str 21. Even then, the other attacks were enough to reduce its Hit Points to below 0.
The Pathfinders' combined assault drops the last of the taers.
COMBAT OVER
As the party defeats the nearest group of taer, it becomes evident that their success is not unique. The waystation folk win the day, sending any surviving taer back into the wilds of the mountains. Fortunately, the Pathfinders helped prevent the waystation from burning to the ground and its residents becoming a mighty feast for the local beastman tribes.
One of the waystation survivors, Rysam spies the party. Surveying the area where the Pathfinders engaged the taer, the ex-Pathfinders notes, "Your help here stopping those beasts will undoubtedly be greatly appreciated." Noting scorch marks on a nearby building, he adds, "Although you could have shown up a little more quickly, in my opinion."
"Say? What took you so long to get here?" Rysam inquires. "And what happened to the rest of my sleds and dogs?"
What do you tell Rysam, Pathfinders?
We are close to wrapping up the table. The table has been reported, but for the chronicle sheets, please make sure the information I have is accurate. Please review the information I have at this link here.

![]() |

"We, ah, were ambushed by Aspis agents on the way back. Lost the other two sleds, dogs were still alive, though."

![]() |

"And it was not like we could turn around and collect everything the consortium tipped over AND make it here to save your sorry behinds. Quit complaining. They lost. We won. You want your stuff back, we can go back and try to retrieve it from the hungry beastmen or Consortium fools, depending on who stuck around to collect them. You really want to try?"

GM Valen |

A look of concern draws over Rysam's face as the party responds.
"Aspis agents?!" The ex-Pathfinder replies. Concern is evident in his voice "Given the hazards ofscaling the Dragon, one might expect to lose a few sleds or dogs. But if those snakes were involved, then you are clearly quite skilled or else incredibly lucky to have returned when you did."
As Rysam speaks, several inhabitants of the waystation approach the Pathfinders. Among these surviving inhabitants is Krysher. As Rysam mentions the Aspis Consortium, the pock-faced man of Andoran descent watches the party with particular interest.
Joining Krysher are various other survivors of the beastmen's incursion. Clearly grateful, one of them makes an offer to the party. "We invite you to remain for a few days to recover. Please stay, at least for another day or two." At the suggestion, others among the inhabitants begin pledging themselves forever in the party's debt. Krysher, however, remains silent, unable to take his eyes off the party.
"Yes, I could actually use some help getting things back to normal and making sure no further attacks are coming," adds Rysam. "We may have driven away most of the beastmen, but if there are Consortium agents on the mountain, we need to make sure they stay there."
"The last thing this waystation needs is an Aspis agent in its midst." Rysam grumbles.

The thoughts of one, however, are particularly focused on determining what that "something" might be.

GM Valen |

The elf leans towards Rysam and murmurs, "Someone has put a, a price on your head. They may have an agent here."
"A price on my head?!" Rysam responds loudly.
Krysher is revealed to be the only one with thoughts on designs on Rysam's life.
Once made aware of Krysher's mindset, Rysam orders the pock-faced Andoran to be searched. When the search produces a bronze badge revealing an Aspis agent in his midst, Rysam orders Krysher arrested. Krysher surrenders willingly and mockingly remarks that once the Galt authorities have taken him into custody it’ll be a small matter of time and money to secure his freedom.
A few days after the arrest of Krysher, the Pathfinders find Osprey waiting for them, comfortably hanging out in front of the fire watching the logs spit and crackle in the dull orange glow.
Once presented with the bones, the mysterious druid thanks the party members for their services to the Society and tells you that you have indeed prevented a terrible fate by keeping the bones from the hands of those who would seek to steal the mystic’s prophetic truths.
Tucking the bones away within his cloak, Osprey graciously bids you all farewell. Then, without warning, he transforms into a long-winged hawk with mysterious dark markings about its eyes. Winging into to the ice-blue sky he soars off southward towards Absalom.
You all, however, are now left standing in the cold, with thousands of miles between where you stand and the City at the Center of the World.
FIN
Well done, Pathfinders! The PCs have retrieved Amao’s Bones and returned them to Osprey and prevented the way station from being destroyed. Therefore, both the primary and secondary success conditions have been met.
I will be posting chronicle sheets later today. Thank you all for playing!
