Look at the gnome! It seems like Zarzucket has figures out a pattern here, and he's explaining it to Vega. It's an easy hop across now, as long as no tile light up when you're on it, you're fine!
You can cross the colored tiles without consequences now
Ah, up ahead is my favourite part! Do you think our contestants are agile enough to jump to the stepping stone? Lethel says
Yes, nothing like a good lava bath! Quell adds Though I've been told most people detest it
As part of a move action, you can use Athletics to horizontally or vertically jump a distance no greater than your remaining amount of movement. If you take a 10-foot running start just prior to the jump attempt, the DC is equal to the number of feet you are attempting to jump horizontally, or four times the number of feet you are attempting to jump vertically.
If you do not take a running start, the DC of the check doubles. The DC is modified by the same environmental circumstances that apply to Acrobatics checks to balance (see page 135). If you fail the check, you fall. If you fail by 5 or more, you fall prone even if you don’t take any damage from the fall. Creatures with a land speed of 35 feet or more gain a +4 bonus to Athletics checks to jump. This bonus increases by 4 for every 10 by which a creature’s land speed exceeds 40 feet. You can’t take 20 on Athletics checks to jump.
I've updated all of your positions. Those that made a perception check have a single move action remaining.

Oh dear. I really don't wanna land in that
She backs off, takes a ten foot running start and attempts to jump the ten foot gap to the rightmost pillar - her right that is.

Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Once the pattern is worked out, Oshari leisurely makes his way across, before breaking into a sprint towards the center pillar.

I believe Xoni could carry Zarzucket and not be burdened. If necessary, she could transfer her boomer rifle and beacon light to any PCs who have a spare 1 bulk of carrying capacity.
Xoni responds to Zarzucket: "Let me carry you as I make the jump! Get over here quick!"

The reflex save was for triggering the trap - because Zarzucket had such a good perception check, it was no longer needed.
Vega and Oshari are the brave ones here! The undine makes it onto the pillars
Oshari can't have been happy with that jump! Only a little shorter and he would have dunked in that lava. Let's see how he progresses from here!
Must be easy to have wings in this contests. Do you think we should forbid that next time?
Oh, look at GRIM*!
He just seems to ignore Zarzuckets advice and march straight on!
It's no extra effort to avoid getting zapped by the colored tiles at this point, since Z has the pattern figured out. If you still want to move in a straight line, please confirm :-P

Oshari pulls himself to his feet after an almost-unsuccessful jump. "Not as young as I used to be..."
From there, he tries to jump to the next pillar.
Athletics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Despite his previous attempt, he manages to quite deftly land on his feet with a slam. He seems about as surprised as anyone else, and a moment later attempts another jump.
Athletics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Having apparently gotten the hang of it, he makes it solidly across to the other side.

Xoni uses her lower pair of arms to hold onto the gnome, saying, "We needed your help to get across that surface, so don't feel bad about allowing me to return the favor. Hold on!"
She calls across to the others to have a rope handy in case the worst happens.
She runs in the direction of the nearest pillar, trying to bring her feet forward as she arcs toward the small landing area, knowing she needs to let gravity slow her down as she shifts her and Zarzucket's weight to line up over her feet and keep their inertia from carrying them any farther.

And they're taking the jump! What a bold move, Xoni is just using Zarzucket as a backpack, and jumps onto the first column.
I'm sure that was closer than she wanted it to be, but she made it all the same
You see that next bit of the obstacle course? There's two moving walkways that run along the rocky ground toward a plexiglass tunnel to the northeast.
The northern walkway churns past at a much faster speed than the longer section of track slightly to the south.
The southern track allows a PC to move 15 feet for every 10 feet of movement used. The northern track allows a PC to move up to 10 feet for every 5 feet of movement spent.

Well, safety first! Wearing the right protective armor saves the day here!

They’re like a team, leaping together over the lava… wait, a team… yeah!! The Zeex? Nah, too risqué. The Xeez! They’re gonna love that!!
She flaps excitedly. “C’mon, Xeez!! Once you’re across, it's on to the finish. We’ve got this! Xeez! Xeez! Xeez!! Get it? X for Xoni and Z for Zarzucket.”
Totally gotta make a logo for them. But there’s two Zs in Zarzucket… just add another Z on the end. It’ll still work. Maybe use some of that crumpled silver insulation sheeting and the crazy purple light-up wire from the Abadar network upgrade… oh, yeah. Gonna be so hot.

I hate to break it to you, but Miiink has already fixed it!
Wow, such a great performance. All is takes is a dash to the finish line... and we're there!
A dozen hovering camera drones buzz past, capturing the action from as many angles as possible. “Our first contestant crosses the finish line!” Lethea’s technologically magnified voice booms through the air. A sardonic chuckle filters through the speakers as Quell adds, “The living never cease to amaze me. Do you think the others have what it takes, Lethea?”
Not missing a beat, Lethea responds, “Stay tuned to Pact World Warriors to find out! We’ll be right back after these messages from our sponsors.
Challenge over!
After the break, the rival team atacks the obstacle course, but fares rather poorly. Verity-5 lags behind trying to help Rafelo out of the quicksand hazard, and only Mia Moxie, Tillik, and Shonvyzam finish the course in the allotted time.
Let's have a look at the score! We've got our Starfinder team blasting ahead at 90 points, while our Mia's team managed to score only 40!

After the break, a suited ghoul hustles the starfinders out of their rest area and back to the elevators at the end of the hallway, a skeletal camera crew following in their wake.
The staff brief the group about the impending challenge as they ride the lift to yet another floor of the underground complex.
The lift opens to reveal a pristine jungle. Ferns carpet the ground beneath towering trees. Birds and insects flit through shafts of artificial sunlight. Only the transparent green dome overhead breaks the illusion of leaving Eox behind for a lush, living world.
Stone walls artfully constructed to look like ancient ruins frame an odd scene: twin kitchens complete with stainless steel countertops and electric cooking ranges stand amid the wilderness. To the west, a cerulean pool laps gently in the artificial breeze.
“Welcome to the Combat Cooking Extravaganza!” Quell calls from his perch atop a floating metal disc. The disc zooms toward the kitchens as he speaks.
“First, our contestants order their live ingredients. This isn’t as simple as ordering takeout at home, folks,” Quell smirks as canned laughter plays through the speakers.
“I’m afraid not,” Lethea calls from an identical disc nearby. “These chefs are working with fresh, wild-caught ingredients. Contestants, I’m sending a recipe to your comm units. Collect your ingredients, then head to the kitchen to craft us a dish worthy of a Pact World Warrior!”
“But be warned,” Quell says. “This kitchen might be packing more heat than you can handle.”
