its flight speed is much more than 30 feet, non magical flight treats direct ascent as difficult terrain, at least I think I read that correctly.

I’ve been trying to research and determine if a Summoner can cast a lower level spell in a higher slot… ie can Opa cast a 3rd level lightning bolt using a 4th level slot? I believe as a spontaneous caster I can which would let me use a level 3 spell in a level 4 slot. 4th level lightning bolt in transit???

I believe that is the case Oppa, as long as it’s one of your 5 spells known as a summoner you can cast them using any of your spell slots. Looks like summoners only get the 4 spell slots a day + only knowing 5 spells at a time but the advantage is you are always heightening those spells for maximum bang for your buck out of them.

Nah it’s been a few days since then. Each Hex traveled is at least 1 day of exploration to clear it. It’s why pretty much every fight feels so hard, book has it rated as a severe encounter since it’s often the only one each day

Do the PCs know if pillars must be fully destroyed to be removed from the situation? Or, just pushed over?

they must be fully destroyed, y'all could guess at this, one of the pillars you reduced to the broken condition which prevented it from firing off eye beams but still was magical enough to maintain the defensive barrier around the fortress of the sorrow.

IF someone used read aura or detect magic they would see the pillar is still heavily invested with magic.

A ring of Wizardry is a great level 7 item for wizards.

Extra 1st level spells and a bump to your arcana. Its 360gp

Always magic scrolls too, scrolls . 4th level spells are level 7 items.

Also could look at learning new spells. To buy access to a spell, we'll call it half the price of a scroll, and then you have to pay the magical ink + arcana check to scribe it into your spell book.

So learning a new 4th level spell, would be 35 gp to gain access and then 36 gp + DC23 Arcana check. If you Critically succeed, you cut the 18 gp price in half.
