Ernhild wastes no time trying to talk some reason into the man. She storms back downstairs.
"No use," she tells Narciso flatly. "If you want to have a try at chasing her, roof's upstairs. Briggi and I stand no chance."
"Perhaps if we were in a position to cast a spell at her..."
| Narciso the Sorcerer |
I don't think you're allowed to chuck spells at someone who is 6 chase cards ahead of you... The only thing I have that would have the range (if I have LOS) would be silent image (range 520 ft; Color Spray is 15', and Grease is 30' at this level).
Narciso shakes his head "She's on the rooftops and away. I can't climb like that. If Tisha can't catch her... Well, we can either try to follow her from ground level and hope she falls or something, or we will have to find her some other way. You and Briggi we toss her apartment, there might be a clue about where she's running to. I'll try to follow the chase from ground level. We meet back at Zellara's in no more than two hours."
Narciso hustles out of the tenement, trying to keep up with the rooftop action...
Not sure if I have to make checks to move 1 card on the ground, but it I do:
Card 1 Cluttered rooftop (Acrobatics DC 10 or Climb DC 15)
Acrobatics, Take 10: 10 + 2 = 12 vs DC10
+2 dex
And this will be a real short chase if I have to make checks - a lot of those checks I have very low odds of making...
Narciso sprints out of the tenement and to the corner, whereupon he calls on the magic in his blood, creating an illusion to bluff Trinia into turning back. On the rooftop ahead of Trinia, a dimension door opens, and out steps Narciso, and 3 armored guardsmen (who promptly start spreading out to cover the whole roof - no easy rush past...).
Image of Narciso to let Tisha know this is friendly, and 3 guards to intimidate Trinia. No save unless interacted with, then Will DC 15

"Cheering you on, of course," Ernhild replies.
She notices that Briggi hasn't come down yet, and goes up the stairs to find him standing before Trinia's front door. "The only thing we can do here is try to guess where she'll go. Nice idea,"
she adds out loud for Briggi.
There she looks to see if she can get out a window to chase her. If she can’t see a way to directly chase after her, she tries to open the door to what she guesses is the flat the woman crawled out of, picking the lock if she has to.

| Foxy Quickpaw |
@Briggi It is no big deal this time, as you could take 20 on breaking the door, but please read the results of your attempts more carefully.
This one-room flat combines all the amenities of a bedroom, a kitchen, and a painter’s studio, leaving little space for much else. A stack of cheese and bread sits on the counter next to several full waterskins, while the easel in the opposite corner holds a half-completed painting of an imp and a house drake fighting atop a church steeple. A single window looks out over the tangled rooftops of the city; just under it sits a low bed.

Ok, that part is b*&!!+&*. Looks like they didn't read their own rules (as I didn't too), when describing Trinia's possible actions. Also you'd need a move and a standard action to overcome one card already and spending a swift in addition gives you three?
