Gaz helps out his boss, as Ayoka lands another hit. It's a pity that this guy seem to be very resistant to fire (Which is quite an advantage when you live in hell...)
The devil looks to be severely hurt as Nakonechkin bears down on it, strikes twice and hits... nothing.

Ayoka's rifle is out of charge, but she does manage to help out Dakoyo enough to find a path through the treacherous terrain. A slight misstep reveals what could have been the Skittermander's fate: a treacherous pit, floored by nasty basalt spikes open up. Fortunately, nobody falls in.
After another hour and a half of travel, the group arrives at the headwaters of the Acavo River. Pillars of ugly stone encircle a small cave in the hillside from which the water of the Acavo Ricer pours forth. The stony ground is devoid of plants. Not even a weed grows here. A large crystal pulsing with purple and red energy protrudes from the riverbank near the spring.
Fools! It's a familiar, but corrupted-sounding voice, and turning to the source reveals Ponatia an Nako, or at least corrupted versions of themselves. Ponatia looks dark and megalomaniacal, and Nako nothing more than a homicidal version of herself. You are just wasting your time helping those cowards of the Helix Lyceum, my domination of the planet is --almost complete! The longer you stand in my way, the more painful your punishment will be!
For all their corruption, the real personalities of Nako andPonatia are still buried deep within their minds, so there may be a way to save them

"Don't For all their corruption, the real personalities of Nako andPonatia are still buried deep within their minds!
Don't worry, you two - we will save you, even if it has to be from yourselves!"
I assume Dakoyo, our bona fide Mystic, will handle the Mysticism check ;-)
He then points at Evil Nako.
"Get that one!"

cmlobue's pregen β |

"But get them gently!" Dakoyo advises as he checks that he has the oil. He runs as fast as his short, stubby legs can carry him toward the crystal.
If the terrain is not suitable fur running, instead he double moves, which puts him 50 feet farther west.

Dakoyo runs straight past the corrupted Ponatia and Nako, and moves within striking distance of the crystal.

Dakoyo resists the effect of Ponatia's spell, and activated the cleansing oil. The substance begins to glow with intense holy light and infuses the crystal, which first changes to a cool blue color, then yellowish, and then begins to melt. The ground surrounding the crystal turns green in a quickly widening circle as the corruption washes away. Rage and hate drain from the faces of Nako and Ponatia and their twisted features revert to normal as they collapse like puppets whose strings are cut. A moment later, Nako and Ponatia blink their eyes as if waking from a terrible nightmare, their corruption dispelled.
Thanks to the employees of Nakonechkin Salvage, Ponatia and Nako are freed from evil influences. The two look confused, until slowly Ponatia realises what happeed. Oh no... nonono... he says and then addresses the group Thank you for freeing us from that corrupting influence... if it hadn't been for you...
Ponatia returns to the Helix Lyceum and begs forgiveness from the headteacher, who readily gives it. Osharus within the city are still infused with planar energy—as is most of the planet—but this just gives them another avenue of study, and they’re delighted with their new state.
As the Clutch returns to the Pact Worlds to sell its salvage, Nako spends most of the Drift journey in her quarters playing a mournful tune on her mvindee fingerdrums. When the ship reaches Absalom Station, she emerges as her old self, as ready for a cheerful scrap as ever!
That brings us to the end of this adventure! Thanks all for playing! I'll report and start preparing chronicles. I'm still missing RPG chronicles input for Nakonechkin - could I have that ASAP?
