The_Mummy_GM |

The wizard and the cleric detect no magic in the room. The Unseen Servant lights up the room. The halfling's dancing lights do the same.
While the halfling meticulously walks around the room, examining each 5' square, what is the rest of the party doing?

Sahba al-Xemestra |

With a shrug, Sabha follows the others down the other path, without an obvious way to get past the secret door, moving into the room to cover Falric, should anything jump out at him.

Idari "Lucky Strikes" Lucien |

Idari-lucien's blue eyes smiles as the Wizard slaps his brother on his arse!
You got 2 minutes to stir things up in there!
The grinning catfolk wizard then gets comfortable....

Falric Dawnstriker |

Falric looks over his shoulder and not seeing the wizard or the cleric in the room, yells out, "You guys gonna stay outside the room the whole time?! You're not inspiring much confidence."

Ananet Bast |

"Coming, coming!" Ananet shouts in Modern Osiriani as she rushes into the room, making sure to stay along the sides and avoiding the sarcophagus, similar to the rest of the adventuring group she's found herself with. She readies her (already-loaded, however bad a practice it might be!) pistol just in case something comes lurching out at her, and keeps her tekko-kagi hand ready at the ingredients for alchemical ordnance, just in case it's something even stronger than the beetles she faced off against previously.
Do we see any doors out of the chamber?

Bosco Qitt |

Idari-lucien chuckles....
Just really Anticipate...!
Bosco interrupts his brother by physically dragging him into the room. "We don't have time for you to SAY IT!

The_Mummy_GM |

The visible exits from this room are stone double doors to the north. However, as Ananet moves to the western wall, she triggers a pressure plate! The doors through which you entered slam closed and you hear a bar click into place on the other side. Electricity arcs through the central platform, striking no one, and the sarcophagus itself moves and stands!
Initiative:
Ananet: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Bosco: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 = 10
Falric: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Idari: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Sahba: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Sarcophagus: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Order: Party, then Sarcophagus.
And also to make matters worse, from the ceiling, water starts to flood into the room!
Party is up!

Falric Dawnstriker |

Oooh...a construct. I hope this archetype shines now!
Round 1: Falric
Seeing the sarcophagus "come to life", Falric draws a bomb from his pack and launches it at the construct. He then takes a 5' step back, concerned about the water filling the room.
Bomb attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Acid Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Idari "Lucky Strikes" Lucien |

What in the name of any Ancient Osiriani God's name did you do that for? I could have just patiently waited outside!
The frowning Wizard peers up at the water beginning to fill the chamber.
That's original. I must be a Prophet!
The Catfolk preens because of his casting of Waterproof.
Turning his blue eyes to the mobile sarcophagus, Idari-lucien shrugs.
I expect there to be some mechanism around to halt this trap.
He then reconsiders.
Or not actually knowing ancient Osiriani burial methods. I suspect that they will find our Drowned and bloated and pummeled bodies next full moon or something.
The Wizard then shares his Luck with the group, as he begins desperately searching for the fictional device...
A number of times per day equal to 3 + your Intelligence modifier, you can predict an ally’s success, bolstering others’ resolve. As a swift action, you can shout an inspiring prediction, granting each ally within 50 feet who can hear you a +4 luck bonus on her next attack roll, saving throw, or skill check
Perception, Low-light Vision, luck: 1d20 - 1 + 4 ⇒ (18) - 1 + 4 = 21
The grinning Catfolk shakes his head.
My perception skills are...wait for it...legendary!

Ananet Bast |

Ananet practically hisses in a feline matter as soon as the water starts falling, and electricity arc. The Cleric in her is not afraid of either, but the Gunchemist certainly is, given what they can do to gunpowder! She mumbles in Amurrun briefly before firing her pre-loaded alchemical cartridge at the sarcophagus. She'd jump back if there weren't a wall behind her.
"THANK YOU Powder Horns!"
Mwk Pistol, Alchemical Cartridge (1-2 misfire), Luck: 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 4 = 10 Misfire due to Alchemical Cartridge. Ouch.
Like an instinct, she doesn't see a bullet fly, and starts reflectively reaching for her combination ordnance-and-cleaning solution, and thoroughly daubs the entire inside of the barrel with it and starts getting to work cleaning while muttering a few vulgarities in Ancient Osiriani. Using an Ordnance to do this as a Move Action (from Gunchemist) instead of the Standard Action it would normally be (Quick Clear from Amateur Gunslinger)
"Some 'luck' you gave me, Idari!"

Bosco Qitt |

Bosco takes his bec de corbin and attempts to smash the sarcophagus.
Bec de corbin, rage, luck, destined, power: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 5 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 2 + 5 + 1 - 1 = 17
Bludgeoning, rage, power: 1d10 + 4 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 3 + 3 = 20

The_Mummy_GM |

Bosco’s blow lands but is diminished by the animated object’s hardness. It still takes a powerful blow but still stands.

Sahba al-Xemestra |

Seeing the lack of effect most of their actions have on the rising sarcophagus, Sahba dashes around to get behind it, drawing her mace as she does, and uttering the words to a spell, calling forth the corrosive power of acid.
Move (drawing mace as I do); drop khopesh; cast Corrosive touch

The_Mummy_GM |

Summary of Round:
Falric tossed an acid bomb that did 8 damage to the construct.
Idari spent his round looking for a way to deactivate the trap/flooding water but did not find any.
Ananet fired but missed.
Bosco hit, inflicting 12 damage.
Sahba cast a spell and moved.
Round 1: Construct
The sarcophagus moves 5' closer and strikes twice at Bosco, who caused it the most damage. Both attacks hit, inflicting 13 damage to the catfolk.
Slam: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Slam: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Party is up. Knowledge (Arcana) would be appropriate check.

Falric Dawnstriker |

Falric launches another bomb at the construct with Idari's buff.
Bomb attack: 1d20 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Ananet Bast |

"Didn't know you're an Alchemist, Falric!" the gunchemist-slash-cleric shouts as she begins to infuse her ammunition with her own equivalent to a proper bomb, pouring one of her three remaining vials onto a bullet, before loading an Alchemical Cartridge into her pistol, aiming, and firing!
Move: Reload (Alchemical). Free: Infuse. Standard: Fire!
Pistol, Mwk: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Pistol Damage, Ordnance: 1d8 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + (4) + 1 = 6 1 point of B/P, 5 points of fire damage.
"There we go! No misfires this time," she shouts, after which she shoots a knowing glance to Idari out of the corner of her eyes. Seeing Bosco's state at the moment, she again speaks up in the middle of the fight, "Bosco, let me know if you need any healing! I can channel positive energy since I doubt a Construct will benefit from it!"
K (Arcana): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Idari "Lucky Strikes" Lucien |

Idari-lucien scratches behind his ear.
Knowledge (arcana) (Int), luck: 1d20 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 4 = 17
Pointing his Wand at the animated object, the Wizard shrugs.
Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
That looked like it was painful.

Sahba al-Xemestra |

Sahba charges in behind the sarcophagus, slamming her magically charged weapon into it with all her might
Heavy mace/charge/luck: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 + 4 = 20
Bludgeoning: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Acid: 1d6 ⇒ 6

The_Mummy_GM |

The combination of Falric's bomb, Ananet's fire, Idaris' magic missile, and Sahba's acid destroy the sarcophagus! However, the room is still flooding. You can roll for Perception checks as a full-round action in Round 3.

Falric Dawnstriker |

In round 3, Falric takes out his Crypt Breaker’s Draught and drinks it. This grants him darkvision and +4 bonus to Perception checks. In Round 4, he will cast Heightened Awareness on himself to get +2 competence bonus on Perception checks. Both spell and mutagen last 10 minutes.

Ananet Bast |

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
In Round 3, Ananet begins to look around the room for traps, subtly cursing herself for not learning how to make cognatogens or draughts. "Anyone know how to make the water stop," she asks futilely, as the water continues to fill the room. She contemplates loading her gun with a proper bullet and proper powder, as opposed to combining them both with paper, which is prone to misfiring and blowing up in her face.

The_Mummy_GM |

As Falric takes his draught, Ananet's keen eyes spot impossibly fine details about a torch holder in the room that looks out of place. She pulls down on the torch, deactivating the trap and causing the flow of water to stop. Problem solved! She also notices secret doors to the E and W and the double doors to the north.
The door to the E reveals a room with several mummies wrapped in linen but otherwise harmless with no value.
The door to the W reveals a secret passage leading to the one-way secret door you noticed earlier and to stairs leading N.
So I need to know which way: Double doors N or stairs leading N?

Idari "Lucky Strikes" Lucien |

Idari-lucien's blue eyes brighten as Ananet solves the leaking water problem.
Well done! Your keen eyes are truly beautiful!
The Wizard then begins to send his Lit Unseen Servant whichever way that Falric points....

Ananet Bast |

I thought hardness encounters were more brutal than that? I am currently running an Iron Gods game, which has hardness spammed everywhere, which is why I ask.
Ananet chuckles slightly at the compliment from Idari, before asking the rest of the group which way they wish to head. "So, double doors or stairs? I don't have an opinion on either." While waiting on a response from the group, she takes the time to pull out a powder horn and a bullet, loading her pistol with some non-alchemical ammunition. Hopefully this one doesn't misfire on me, she thinks to herself while loading her firearm. Once it's loaded, she once again turns to Bosco: "Do you happen to need healing, Bosco? I haven't used any spells, extracts, or channeled any energy today, so don't feel ashamed to ask!"

Bosco Qitt |

Bosco nearly falls over after the beating he received. When Ananet asks holds up his hand but the effort causes him to finally lose his balance and collapse splashing up water. "Maybe a little..."

Idari "Lucky Strikes" Lucien |

Walk it off. Actually, is that your actual face under those welts, bruises and boils?
The Wizard winces.
Haven't seen you this wicked since that bully in grade school. She really f#*~ed you up!

Ananet Bast |

Ananet goes up to the bloodrager, holds up her holy symbol of Bastet, while resting her paw on his shoulder, and uses up two uses of Channel Energy to heal up the injured Bosco, fearing that her spells might best be used elsewhere. She briefly sets her pistol on the ground while doing so, making sure to thoroughly heal Bosco.
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Bosco should heal 11
Picking up the pistol and returning to the midpoint between the two ways north, Ananet speaks up while patting Bosco on the back, "Hopefully that helps!" She gives him a wide, compassionate smile.

Falric Dawnstriker |

Falric smiles at Ananet, "A fellow alchemist?! When I saw you wielding a gun, well, alchemist is not what I first thought. It is great that we can talk formulae and the such, but after we get through this tomb. By the way, nice catch on spotting the torch." Falric pauses to buff himself with the Heightened Awareness. "Well, I should be ready to spot all traps, should there be any additional ones in this tomb. I say we try the double doors up the stairs and then see if we can head east."

Ananet Bast |

Ananet nods and walks forwards for a bit, stopping roughly besides Sabha while waiting for the rest of the group, before responding to Falric: "I'm a Gunchemist, specifically, but not all too great of one. Alright, let's head through the doors then!"

The_Mummy_GM |

The party heads N through the stairs and the double doors. The doors open to reveal:
This room holds several neatly arrayed chests, boxes, and urns. The dust of centuries covers every surface. The only exit is the set of stone double doors through which you just entered.
With Falric searching for traps and such, you explore the room and the containers. After a couple of minutes of searching, you find:
Two vials of silversheen
Masterwork longbow
10 cold iron arrows
Gold scarab clasp worth 50 gp
Onyx and silver holy symbol of Pharasma worth 100 gp
Silver hand mirror worth 35 gp
Wax-sealed clay urn of nard worth 75 gp
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23
Falric's buffed senses, under the effect of the spell and draught, grant him the ability to sense a secret door to the east in the room.

Falric Dawnstriker |

Before opening the secret door, Falric, remembering his late friend Tethys, takes his time examining the door. He will take 10 on his Perception check for a 23 to check for traps. If any traps are found, he tries to disarm it. He pulls out his tools and calls on his halfling adaptable luck ability (usable 3x/day) to give himself +3 on the check.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 12 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 12 + 3 = 23

The_Mummy_GM |

Falric notices a well-hidden arcane glyph on the secret door. He tries to disarm it and thanks to his innate luck, he is able to open the door without triggering the trap!
You proceed through the door to east in a 5' wide passage that eventually leads to a door. After checking for traps, you open it to reveal:
A sarcophagus covered in gold-colored leaf rests on a raised stone platform in the center of this chamber. The casket’s cover is carved the likeness of an adult man with his arms crossed over his chest and covered in thick coat of dust. Two ornate chests sit beyond the dais in the northeast and southeast corners, and between them stand two large funerary urns.
It seems to be the resting place of Akhentepi. What now?

Ananet Bast |

Ananet pauses for a moment to catch her breath, before speaking up, "This must be the resting place of this guy, huh? Should we check the chests?"
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
She scans the room for any creatures, traps, constructs, or animated objects. Surely there's somethin' here to protect him! , she thinks to herself while scanning.
Is there a lootsheet someone has going?

Bosco Qitt |

Is there a lootsheet someone has going?
Check my tag line, I have not updated it yet with the most recent ill gotten gains.

The_Mummy_GM |

Ananet pauses for a moment to catch her breath, before speaking up, "This must be the resting place of this guy, huh? Should we check the chests?"
[dice=Perception] d20+9
She scans the room for any creatures, traps, constructs, or animated objects. Surely there's somethin' here to protect him! , she thinks to herself while scanning.
Is there a loot sheet someone has going?
It's hard to perceive anything in the room from the hallway behind 2-3 people. You should be able move your token on the map.

Ananet Bast |

Ananent, getting impatient, heads up to the chest, lusting for secrets and knowledge lost to time. "Guess I'll be the one to check, then!"
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Sorry, was a bit tired and was assuming Falric had moved their token, for some reason.
Also, GM, would it be okay to use up a use of Copycat from the Trickery Domain, in case something just jumps out at us?

Falric Dawnstriker |

My bad, was a little late posting today.
Falric walks around the room and checks it for traps and dangers.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 4 + 2 = 28

Bosco Qitt |

Bosco hopes that the dead's rest is not disturbed by his companions, perhaps motivated by the still painful bruises he taps a wand to his forehead as they move into the room. He also activates the scarab shield to help with his remaining injuries.
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Activate scarab shield and the dismiss for heals Cast shield from wand 1 min, AC 22, activate

The_Mummy_GM |

No traps or dangers are detected. The party investigates the chests and finds the following:
*Suit of padded armor that detects as magical.
Disintegrating cloth sack filled with 500 gp.
Well-preserved darkwood coffer worth 50 gp.
*Inside the coffer are 2 potions that detect as magical.
An ornate lapis and carnelian pendant worth 70 gp.
An assortment of carnelian, lapis lazuli, and turquoise semiprecious stones worth a total of 55 gp.
The party wonders if and how they will open the sarcophagus.
Ananet, you can use copycat if you wish.

Falric Dawnstriker |

Falric will taste the 2 potions to try and identify them:
Potion 1 Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Potion 2 Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
If we are opening the sarcophagus, he casts Shield on himself first.
Check for traps on sarcophagus: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30

Ananet Bast |

Ananet decides not to open the sarcophagus as well, seeing if anyone else will open it. "Not a Pharasmin averse to doing this of those gone from the Mortal Plane, whose souls have already been judged... it feels a little odd there's nothing guarding the room of his actual rest. If any of you want to open it, let me know, and I'll protect myself with a little trick I know," after which she gives a wink.
If someone else goes to open it, she calls on the power of Bastet to create illusory clones of herself, in the case that something jumps up at her: 1d4 ⇒ 2 clones in specific. 1/3 chance of hitting her on the first round if anything jumps out

Sahba al-Xemestra |

Sabha holds her mace at the ready, in the event that this sarcophagus also rises and attacks, standing guard over Falric as he inspects it for any indication of traps.

Bosco Qitt |

Bosco tries to pry off the top with a grunt.

The_Mummy_GM |

The 2 potions are of Lesser Restoration.
There are no traps on the sarcophagus.
Bosco sheathes his weapon and grunts and heaves as he has to use all of his 16 Strength to push the top off, all the while making a grinding noise as it slides over the top.
Suddenly, through the cover of the sarcophagus, a shadowy humanoid figure flies up and phases through the stone cover. It hovers in mid-air and looks around, seeing the chests and other treasures looted! As it stretches out its ethereal shadowy fingers at you, it moans, "Thievesssss!"
Initiative:
Ananet: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Bosco: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Falric: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Idari:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Sahba: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Shadow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Order: Idari, Shadow, rest of party.
Will add the shadow to the map when I get home.
