First time Pf2e player so lots of rule questions :)

Akrons steel shield has hardness 5, does acid damage ignore hardness as in Pf1e?
20 hp could hopefully last for a bit. Need to get some extra weapons and spare shields for sure.

So the bludgeoning damage would be resisted, but the acid from the ooze has an effect that would be unideal to use metal or wood equipment against them with.

November 20th Recap Post
You were all in the markets doing whatever daily activities best suited your interest, when suddenly a ooze burst forth from a man! When you fought it, you found that dealing slashing damage made it split into multiple oozes!

After a harrowing fight, you brought it down and were hired by city counsel woman Abayone to investigate the cause of this plague, being paid 60gp up front.

Her leads were a preacher named Baats'ulan whose acolytes are many, secretive, and have recently shown signs of being affected by this plague. There is also the Nation of Nex's envoy named Mafzat A'Haddin, and she advises you to not tell Mafzat that you are working on behalf of the council.

As of today, you are about to debate with Baats'ulan about whether or not non-humans are just as enlightened, if not moreso, than humans.

Ok, leveling up in 2nd ed is pretty easy. Clynter bumped Athletics up to Expert, and picked up Skirmish Striker for his class feat and Powerful Leap for his skill feat.

Hey GM, if you'd like we can just skip ahead to the next scene. Maybe slap a few spoiler'd posts in to figure out what happens for the vampire spawn creation. Your call whether he's gotta drain and bury someone now, or if he already did that 3 days prior to the adventure and they're about ready to rise around this time.

Can somebody explain how saves work in 2e?

I am trained in reflex saves due to champion. This gives me a +2. I have 10 dex, so no dex bonus to be had. I then add my shield bonus, resulting in a +5.

I am clearly missing something.

Level + Proficiency and then any other factor bonuses.
I am uncertain how a shield bonus can be added into reflex, please show where that is.

Based on your level of 6 and proficiency of trained, you would have 8 before any other modifiers.

I mispoke, I wear plate armor, and which has the bulwark ability which replaces my dex mod of zero with a +3, although its conditional on the effect doing damage.

The armor covers you so completely that it provides benefits against some damaging effects. On Reflex saves to avoid a damaging effect, such as a fireball, you add a +3 modifier instead of your Dexterity modifier.

@Rakdon Well that explains a thing or two. This will be the last encounter with that initiative error.

@Arkon Confirmed with my VC friends, and you are correct in that the +3 bulwark does take over the +0 dex you have. You will still need to add your level and proficiency to your reflex. Bearing that in mind of 6(level)+2(Prof)+3(Bulwark{Versus Damaging Effects specifically}), you should be at 11 Reflex total unless you have any additional modifiers.

Hey. I noticed the goat is at -42 HP on the initiative tracker. I think it should have started the combat full, since I had spirit link cast on the goat for a solid 10 minutes since the previous fight. Heck depending on how fast we went it could still be active.

Hello everybody! I just had the birth of my second child this last Friday, so I have been pretty out of it. If I am late to posting, please bot me. Clynter is pretty straight forward; move to flank or feint to get sneak attack damage. Use skirmish strike to Step into position if needed or step away after attacking.

Effectively speaking, no one has declared they didn't do any shopping before leaving. So as long as purchases are done before we enter the temple I am cool with it.

Not a bad idea. Some of the general feats are a bit lackluster.

Ok, I upgraded Clynter but I still want to make some purchases. He now has Doublespeak as a feat, which lets him hide the real meaning behind his words, but anyone who has spent at least a week with him knows what he "really" means. I hope Clynter gets a chance to use it at some point!
