GM Valen |

Sorry for the delay folks. Real life has been throwing a good bit my way lately. It may be after the weekend before I get back up to a regular posting rate.
Flikk happily shakes hands with the Lovely Mr Glovely "Hello, I'm Flikk, good to meet you." He responds, both to the glove and to the toothy chest before him.
Recall knowledge on what a mimic is so I know just how much Flikk knows about such creatures!
Flikk knows nothing more about mimics.
"Oh, where's Rain? Rain are you ok?" He looks slightly concerned, but quickly loses interest and gets back to the chest and gloves.
"I am in no condition to fight. Perhaps we should listen to the aberration?" suggests the leshy.
"Nice bling you've got there.." Flikk leans in a bit, eyeing the shiny silver chain. "How did you end up here? Was it the hag?" He rattles off a few questions, he has a very eager mind to satisfy.
“How did I end up here? Now that’s a long story. Was a hag involved? Most assuredly."[/b] Biglock sighs. "To be honest, I’ve been in quite a few of the Society’s vaults over the years. I’m good at going unnoticed. Last time I got noticed, it was by that night hag, Aslynn. She saw my potential, and… well, she owns a significant share of my soul. I can barely even remember how I lost it to her in the first place. A bad bet? A worse debt? Can’t rightly say, as I don’t rightly know "
"Well, for years now, I’ve had to do as she asks. Mostly spying, a bit of stealing. But when I wised up to some of her plans, I made a break for it. She’s been looking for me ever since. I think she fed information to those Onyx Alliance rascals. They captured me, so when the Society got hold of their treasures, I came with!"
I'm Chupko. Dealing with this problem needs that we try to investigate among the items here. We can't do otherwise. I also think that the Society will try something soon or later as they can't to enter on the other side.
“I’m doing whatever I can to stay out of Aslynn’s reach and, eventually, find a way to get out of her debt. The way I see it, the only way out is to help you out!”
"Mr. Glovely, show these Pathfinders that thing you found.” Mr. Glovely produces a small gold spoon.
“No, not that! The other thing!” Mr. Glovely shows a jagged shard of purple glass with constellations like those visible in the ooze of Aslynn’s cauldron.
“That’s the one! I think it’s a shard of Aslynn’s mind. It’s projecting all those creatures into this place. She’s probably looking for it. I think you should destroy it, but first, you’ll want to prepare for a fight. A piece of a night hag’s mind isn’t bound to go out without a struggle.”
"Toasty! also think we could burn our way out, but that be bad for us too."
"Yes. Fire bad." Biglock agrees.
"I's Lokoloko! Yous knows any nice things to make pickles?"
“While you were distracting Aslynn, we found these!" Biglock offers in reply. Mr. Glovely produces a dagger with carved runes in one hand and a crystal key in the other. "I think she was looking for them.”
“This dagger here looks like it’s from the Jistka Imperium. Might be a powerful magic weapon, but I’m not sure how to unlock its potential!” Biglock explains. “I think Aslynn was looking for this key, too. I don’t recognize the crystal it’s made of, and I don’t think it’s from this world at all!"
"Neither one is terribly useful for making pickles," Biglock concedes, "But, you should probably keep them for the Society anyways."
"I think Biglock’s plan sounds like the group’s best chance to escape the vault with our lives," suggests Rain and Cloudy Day.
Any other questions for Biglock? Or Mr. Glovely for that matter?

![]() |

"A magical dagger from the Jistka Imperium, impressive!" Flikk takes the dagger and key, pondering them. "Daggers can help make pickles, sliced pickles are very handy for some situations." They add, not looking up from the 'pickle slicer'.
Some terms keep floating through Flikk's head, bouncing about and hoping to gain some pertinent purchase there: Onyx Alliance and Jistka Imperium. Recall anything on those?
Rain finally interrupts his thought process, mentioning something about 'plan'. "Oh, destroy something? You've come to the right goblin! I can destroy nearly ANYTHING! This one time I destroyed an entire sailing ship that wouldn't get out of my way at the mouth of the harbor." He makes a grandiose hand display of an explosion followed by the sounds of rushing water.
"Gather up as many big bombs as we can find and I'll blast that mind fragment all the way back to the Shackles!"

Flikk recalls that the Onyx Alliance, an old rival with which the Society had formed an uneasy truce, is an organization of creatures from the Shadow Plane. Sinister in nature, little is known about the Onyx Alliance's motives and goals, although it is known that they desire slaves and wealth from the Material Plane. It is believed that they primarily operate in the city of Shadow Absalom. Fetchlings are sometimes drawn to Golarion from the Shadow Plane to serve with the Onyx Alliance.
Over the past year, that fragile truce was shattered when the Onyx Alliance was tricked into engaging in open conflict with the Society and into amassing its treasures in a secure vault on the Shadow Plane.
The goblin recalls nothing about the Jitska Imperium.
"Gather up as many big bombs as we can find and I'll blast that mind fragment all the way back to the Shackles!"
"Yes, but it may take more than bombs," Biglock decides. "Mr. Glovely, gather the good stuff!"
Mr. Glovely rummages around the many discarded chests for a few minutes, then produces a wayfinder and proudly presents it with flourish.
“No, no, I mean the really good stuff,” says Biglock.
Mr. Glovely smacks his nonexistent forehead, before producing a small key from thin air and unlocks some sort of invisible container. With an exaggerated display of effort, he lifts a +1 resilient breastplate from the container for presentation.
Biglock grins. “That oughta do it. Have fun!"
Any other questions for the pair?

Raj has been listening the exchange between the goblins and the mimic in disbelief. He squints his eyes hard, and opens them up again.
No, I wasn't dreaming. A talking mimic is still there...
"Any idea why the dagger and the key are so important for the hag?" he asks. Fighting a hag doesn't sound good, and any advantage would be welcome.

GM Valen |

"Any idea why the dagger and the key are so important for the hag?" he asks. Fighting a hag doesn't sound good, and any advantage would be welcome.
“I don’t know the details, but I know Aslynn is trying to brew some powerful magic in that weird cauldron of hers. She needs a few of the magic items from your stash here.” Biglock says, “I figured that the dagger or the key must be one of them!”
Rain in Cloudy Day considers the dagger, concluding that they could be helpful should more terrors or rats appear.
The dagger functions as a +1 striking dagger.
Holding the key, Rain relays that he is experiencing a strange alien voice drowning out other intrusions on his mind.
While a PC with the key on their person gains a +2 item bonus to Will saving throws due to the strange alien voice.

"Wow. We should really put all these items to use.. somehow." He looks at the breastplate and battle axe, unfamiliar with their use.
"Pickle slicer is simple enough though, too bad we didn't find a giant crate of alchemist fires!" He sort of points that question towards Mr Glovely, just in case.
Lots of magic items, not sure how many a lot of us can actually put to use? That armor is pretty sweet for someone, at least two striking weapons. Let's put a list together in the discussion tab maybe?

GM Valen |

Toasty "My owie isn't too bad, might be better to look for more goodies than spend too much time, I can fire fire fire fire from afar."
"A good idea, to search for items of use!" agrees Biglock as Mr. Glovely forms a fist with one hand in a gesture simulating a nod. "We can help! I'd start over there!"
If the mimic indicates, it is not evident due to his lack of limbs. Mr. Glovely simply indicates a shrug.
PCs may take another 10 minutes to look for useful items. Biglock and Mr. Glovely help them search, granting each PC a +2 circumstance bonus to their check to Explore the Vault of Boundless Wonder.

Raj starts going through the weapons. Perhaps there's a magical bow there somewhere.
There is not. He finds a few quills, but they are simply for writing.
Suddenly, whoever was holding the shard of Aslynn’s mind finds themself unable to maintain their grip as the object wills them to release it before it flies toward the vault’s center.
“It’s too late! She’s here!" Biglock shouts. "This is bad!”
The shard, hovering near the amassed treasures, twists and warps, taking on the familiar form of Aslynn and her cauldron.
“Your plan to kill me? So brave, so bold. And yet, it matters not. Behold!” She plunges an oozing claw into the pile and brandishes a jeweled chalice.
“Boundless wonder called to me. And I respond with nightmares three! Three children of my last thirteen shall join me in an endless dream. A realm where you shall vex me not—a realm where you shall be forgot! Destroy me here, but at what cost? You fight in vain, for all is lost!”
Cackling with glee, Aslynn watches as the chalice brims with swirling magical liquid. She inhales deeply, then empties the chalice into her cauldron. A fuming creature boils forth, and Aslynn commands, “Kill the Pathfinders! And should they survive, let this be the first of their boundless nightmares!”
The smelly, twisted creature emerging from her cauldron vaguely resembles a skunk.
