Thrass critically strikes one of the rats twice before backing up. Kamil takes the opportunity to finish it off.

She then focuses her embiggening energies on Thrass, and he rapidly expands in height, weight and mass.

Itka scares the Zephyr Hawk before blasting it with another projectile.
The remaining rat scampers up to Kamil, obscuring both of them in nauseous smoke. Even with the rune's protection, the rat finds a critical weakpoint in his stance and chomps hard. He's thankful for the Fire Resistance.

He hands one of you a >diplomat’s badge< as thanks.
"Now, I'll see you tomorrow. Toodles!" He waves you off before turning back to his book and his sky.
The hatch opens just in time for Lumki to emerge with a pot of coffee, a jar of fig jam and several slices of toast. "The professor always gets hungry..."
Thrass |
"Ooh, jam and fish, lovely!" Thrass stomps around a bit before realising he is still large and is knocking everything over. He sits down into lotus position and waits until the magic wears off.
"Well done everyone. I'm not sure what we did exactly, but it seems the professor is happy with it. I'd offer to help bandage people up, but I'm a bit uncoordinated at the moment." He unhooks a fish from his belt, the fish now the size of a medium-sized dog, grabs a knife between thumb and forefinger, and carefully starts spreading jam on the fish.

Lumki nods. "There are two ways to get his attention: reading the stars and a chance to mock his rival. Tomorrow he gets to do the latter."
As you leave the observatory, you notice a group of athletic iruxi grumbling about themselves. One of them spots you. "Ah, perfect! The outsiders. My name is Leilin, star of the Ekkeshikaar Dunkers. Could you help us practice?"
The locals lead the way to a large building, built from stone at the bottom, but with an enormous glass dome covering the top. Inside is a sophisticated arena with rising stands on the outside surrounding fenced-off pens for standing crowds to watch at ground level, and in the middle a large, muddy oval set to house the main attraction. Today, the crowd is relatively small—only about a quarter of the stands are filled with cheering Iruxi who watch as a number of giant, lumbering lizards are led onto the arena floor.
"Ah, there you are. We could use your help." It doesn't take long for the iruxi spectators to crowd around you. We need practice against... unorthodox players like you. We must defend ourselves against the Globetrotters." As the athlete mentions the name, the crowd hushes.
"Astrologers believe they travel across Golarion. No, they travel beyond the planes, to new worlds! They have defeated us every time they arrive, staking their claim of absolutely nothing!" The iruxi stamps her foot against the hard earth. "This year, they have challenged us to a game of Exuto, and it is due next week.."[/b
[b]"Exuto is a beloved sport where you ride massive lizards and direct them to knock a ball into your opponent's side of the field. Were this another iruxi team I would crush them easily, but the Globetrotters are so unorthodox. We must think outside the box."
"We need to practice against unorthodox opponents. Like yourselves. Can you participate in a practice game?"
"Thank you. Let me show you how you can help." Some of the teammates enter the arena atop the backs of large lizards. Leilin points to them. "This is an ankylosaurus. Mind the tail and its feet. I've seen too many rookies fall off underneath its feet." She shakes her head. "Stay on for as long as possible."
Each of you have the opportunity to ride an ankylosaur. However the animal is not tame and will buck and try to throw you off. You'll need to make Acrobatics or Athletics checks to stay on.
If you have other ways of calming animals it will be useful.
This is completely optional, so you don't have to participate.
Thrass |
Feeling cocky after the last fight, Thrass is happy to help out. "Sure, this seems fun. Let's see how I can help."
When they bring out the anykolsauruses, Thrass's jaw drops. "Er... You see, the trick is..." he looks around, looking for inspiration, then his eyes fall on the fish at his belt. "Ah, yes, the trick is twofold. Maybe threefold, I dunno. But part of any team exercise is bonding with your teammates. Trust in your mount and they will trust you. See?"
Thrass grabs another fish from his belt and offers it to the ankylosaurus. If the dinosaur doesn't accept it, he will look for something else the beast would like to eat. I have a +10 in Nature, if that requires a check.
Only afterwards does he climb onto the beast's back. "The second trick is anticipating your partner's movements. Like this." Thrass tries a sitting version of the crane stance, raising his arms high for balance. "By spreading my arms out like this, I can distribute my weight as the dino shifts, anticipating and counteracting their movements."

The Diplomat's badge is all yours, Celestia.
Leaning heavily on her cane, Itka slowly lowers herself onto a bench to watch her teammates. Hmp. My hips don't let me move quickly enough to do that. "Hmp. Good job, Thrass! Nice work, Celestia!" Her harsh, grinding-granite-boulders voice rises above the other sounds in the arena.

Thrass offers a fish to the ankylosaur. The beast sniffs his hand and almost chomps it off along with the fish. The ride seems a bit more calm, at least for now.
I'll give Thrass a +1 bonus for waving that fish around. He's carried it through this entire scenario.
He gets on, and Celestia also hops on her own animal. The ankylosaurs seem startled and bounce back and forth, but the riders are able to maintain their grip.
"Excellent!" Leilin claps as the audience cheers. "Keep it up!"
After each check, you can choose to stop and get off the dinosaur. A critical failure will end your attempt, but a critical success will make it easier to hang on.
