Very good question!
I would go with the korean elven thing and name it 우주 플래시 Uju Peullaesiery, which means something like Cosmic Lightning, or Cosmic Flash.
If all are on board with this name, that is.
Himo Naïlo |
Oh, does anyone want to be party leader?
I thought that maybe Himo would really be a good candidate: with some experience as a mercenary on the one hand and with a firm moral compass on the other. Perhaps he won the respect of our team precisely by his steadfastness in matters of moral choices - dishonor is worse than death, meanness is not worth financial gain, and so on.

I'm on board. If the ship is of elven design, I think the extra maneuverability from the explorer model fits. It also freed up some space for extra systems and faster engines. Went with Robotic Appendage and Fuel Synthesizer. Gives the ship some utility and allows us to operate in deep space. Unfortunately the arms can't be used for ship to ship combat, so no Outlaw Star combat for us.

For an Elven Explorer ship, I'm a fan of this artwork as the reference. Though Dreams will probably give it a color paint job unless someone stops her.

Sounds good to me.

I like the artwork!
I'm fine with Hima taking kind of a leading role, but expect discussions on that "firm morale compass".
Seo-Yeon wants to live and live freely, decisions have to be made and some things just need to be done.
All of that is better with full pockets.
Himo Naïlo |
By the moral compass, I meant everyone's inner desire for good. "If you're not evil, then you're already good in some degree", something like that. It's just that someone can look at it consciously, and someone can strive for other goals. But choosing between preventing (without any benefit) someone from selling children for organs or staying on the sidelines, as if reluctantly agreeing to prevent the atrocity, but deep down rejoicing that there is someone in the group who insisted on it.
I don't insist on this idea, as it just as an idea - but it seems to me that with such a white background, some gray characters become much more voluminous and interesting.

Oh, having a screenplay is super. I didn't read all the episodes (purposely), but it looks very intriguing!

Is there any abbreviated name or nickname adopted in our team for DR34-M12? I just can't imagine us saying it in battle )) It's a question to DR34-M12 of course. A similar question to Seo-Yeon - is just Seo is OK in a hurry?
Himo ok with Himo btw )

Dreams sounds great .)
I've just started to realize how great the idea of a TV show was. I very often imagine games like this and describe scenes in a similar way, but finally it's just part of the game and the idea. Super! Goosebumps.

I think we should talk about the layout of the ship and perhaps come up with a plan? This sounds a bit like the Enterprise bridge to me right now, but i think on a small ship it could be a bit different.
Since we have a longer ship probably something like the above. The cockpit could probably uncomfortably fit everyone but probably only has 2-3 actual stations.
For the conversation on hand I figured Dreams just had an open comm line to everyone rather than we were all in the cockpit.
DR34-M12 |
Dreams has a "waiting in line" torture sim she can't wait to test out on some poor soul. Pretty standard fair time perception manipulation to make hours seem like days/weeks. The real trick is your data pad is at 7% and not connecting well. You keep getting the hope that it will connect and you can browse a bit, but it never actually does. Plus you get the anxiety that it will die soon.

I'm really thrilled about the new book Starfinder Enhanced!
Any chance we will be using that? Sounds very exciting and probably some things are real improvements.

We might be. I won't get the pdf until October though. My birthday is in October.

Well I was going to suggest a tracking bug or something but holy crap! They are expensive and they kinda suck. I was definitely more thinking leaving a phone in the box or an airtag or something.
On Starfinder Enhanced, narrative starship combat and equipment upgrades have caught my attention the most. I've always preferred to keep trusty gear at my side than picking up the garbage of every 3rd person I kill.
DR34-M12 |
Yeah the murder market economy is one of Starfinder's weaker aspects. Anything you buy that has to be replaced is just burning credits. Way better to spend it on personal upgrades and the like and just use the garbage you find for armor and weapons. I always felt players should have a similar system for equipment as BP for ships.
Himo Naïlo |
> How is everyone enjoying the campaign so far?
Yep )
> Yeah the murder market economy is one of Starfinder's weaker aspects.
On the contrary, I like this part of this system. Makes the value of the finds much higher. And also significantly increases the importance of awards from the mission customer - usually all major purchases are made with this money.

I like having mission rewards being a big impact, and I like being able to find major loot. The problem is that so much gear needs to be replaced every 2-3 levels or you fall behind the curve.
That awesome rifle you got from your rival eventually becomes outdated garbage, and you can only trade or break it down for 10% of the value.
So hopefully the upgrade system will take care of that problem. Both in being able to upgrade stuff, and in the return in value.
Himo Naïlo |
I've been GMing all 6 books of Dead Suns AP and played 9 books of 3 APs (Aeon Throne, Signal of Screams, Devastation Ark) sequentially from level 1 to level 20 and didn't see that this was a problem for most of the characters. Only power armor lovers suffered a little. For everyone else, there was quite a lot of loot. Instead of an outdated gun, you will soon find a new one etc.
This is my gaming experience, it certainly may differ from yours )
And anyway, if they offer alternative rules to meet the needs of different players it will be great.

Hello everyone!
I'm going away for two weeks, and I'll be without internet at all. This is a yoga and meditation retreat with complete disconnection from the outside world. I will be in touch from May 15, I will start playing from about the 16th. I tried to reduce the number of games to a minimum (without starting to play new oneshots for some time), with such an eye that after returning I only needed to read a couple of hundred posts, and not around a thousand, as it could be with my usual 15+ games at the same time. So I think I'll switch back on quickly!
Himo Naïlo |
Hey guys! I'm back, I've dealt with most of the most vital things that have accumulated over the two weeks of my absence, and I'm going back to the games (by the way, the retreat was amazing!). As I expected, there are several hundred messages waiting for me on the forum, which I will read smoothly. The deadline for returning to absolutely all games is Saturday. I hug everyone! See you in gameplay thread .)

Have we rested? Can I assume that this is a new day and I can consult with the spirits of my ancestors anew? If yes, then I take the profession (detective) instead of mercenary ))
