Charisma / Dex based fighter? (The fighter fighter)

Advice

Thinking about making an extra tail using kitsune with the 9 tailed scion trait. Because this is for PFS, the only way to crank out all nine tails seems to be fighter.

1UC rogue 1 Feat: EWP elven branched spear
2UC rogue 2
3UC rogue 3 Rogue talent combat feat Combat reflexes
4 Fighter 1 Extra tail I
5 Fighter 2 Extra tail II Extra tail III
6 Fighter3
7 Fighter4 Extra tail IV Extra tail V
8 Fighter5
9 Fighter6 Extra tail VI Extra tail VII
10 Fighter7
11 Fighter8 Extra tail VIII
12 Fighter9

Does anyone know if there's a fighter archetype that gets any use out of charisma?

One possibility is the Phantom Thief Archetype (from Ultimate Intrigue), which I'm pretty sure works for this. That's less good at fighting but definitely can get all 9 Tails. Actually, with the Racial FCB you can get it quicker, if you like.

Progression:

1: EWP
2: Extra Tail 1
3: Combat Reflexes (You can reverse these two)
4: Extra Tail 2
5: Extra Tail 3
6: Extra Tail 4
7: Extra Tail 5, Extra Tail 6
8: Extra Tail 7
9: Extra Tail 8

You can also get some very definite usage out of Charisma with some Skill Unlocks, though you'll need to grab something that lets you do Intimidate checks regularly to really make the most of it...of course, you can grab Enforcer and a Merciful Weapon relatively early, if you like, delaying the Tails only a level.

That's way less good in a fight than a straight Fighter, but it's absolutely amazing at skills, and it's actually quicker and better at getting the Tails if that's your primary goal.

Does nine tailed only work if the bonus feat is a "pick one" like a fighter or could you swap out any bonus feat granted by a class feature? I dunno, alchemist's "throw anything".

Nah. They specify it can't replace anything specific.

That's sad... I was thinking of some cheese where you are a half elf and take FCB in fighter and monk. One monk level would give you three deats to swap out. (IUS, bonus feat, and stunning fist.)

There is something useful here though... You already planned on taking EWP at first level. A half elf coud get you that for free, some nifty racial traits like sleep immunity, and a FCB in two classes of your choice.

Magical Tail is Kitsune only, so that'll cost you a Feat for Racial Heritage and lose you the Kitsune racial stuff, which is nice.

I'd say it's definitely not worth it.

Oooo... and that fits the character shockingly well. thank you.

You're quite welcome. I'm always happy to be of assistance and I'm really pleased with Phantom Thief and was looking into builds for it, and the idea of using it for Magical Tails had come up in conversation...

Hmmm.. I forgot my real third level feat.

1UC rogue 1 Feat: EWP elven branched spear
2UC rogue 2
3UC rogue 3 Rogue talent combat feat Combat reflexes, Tail I
4 Fighter 1 Extra tail II
5 Fighter 2 Extra tail III Extra tail IV
6 Fighter3
7 Fighter4 Extra tail V Extra tail VI
8 Fighter5
9 Fighter6 Extra tail VII Extra tail VIII
10 Fighter7
11 Fighter8
12 Fighter9

This way has fewer skill points, doesn't get the cool skill unlocks, but oddly enough compared to doing rogue, actually has 2d6 of sneaky attack, and almost Full bab, and trapfinding

Are there any good skill unlocks? Most of what i've seen has been very meh

Intimidate is pretty great if you can get ways to do it that aren't a Standard Action in their own right (or hit multiple people). Bluff and Diplomacy are awesome (though not in combat), Heal's pretty nice if you get it for free at higher levels, Acrobatics, Perception, and Sense Motive are okay.

And you don't just get Skill Unlocks, you get them early, and get +1/2 level to all the skills you have them in as well.

Like I said, it's definitely a worse build in combat, but it's got some cool tricks.

For a character trying to make good use of SLA's, one level of Dual-Cursed Oracle for Misfortune is incredibly useful for breaking enemy saves.

8 ???

I was estatic that i was going to be able to use vigilantee for this build... then i noticed that the combat feat is avenger only, and he can only take the same feat once, so no stacking magical tail.

I can bail on fighter since I can't get that last tail in before level 9 anyway . Vigilantee fits what i want to do with it fairly well. It seems like you can just forgoe the entire dual identity thing and just have a rogue with d4 sneak attacks but cooler powers? Move action bluff seems pretty cool.
