Still don't know whether to do an unarmed or melee build at all with the operative. The comments on that i could find aren't really satisfying or self-explanatory.
Seems to me it's like a rogue in PF1/2 a bit, but of course the game is different.Operative is definitely the rogue of Starfinder, although as you said there are differences. For an unarmed build, I'd recommend taking 3 levels in Soldier with the Ascetic Warrior alternate class feature. This will give you the foundation you need to make unarmed strikes more than a backup option. The Qi Adept fighting style will get your unarmed to count as magic, which helps with DR and incorporeal creatures as well as being thematic.
From there taking levels in operative and picking up the Death Strike operative talent will let use use trick attack and triple/quad attack with your unarmed strikes.
That should give you everything you need for a viable unarmed operative. It might not be the most tuned build but you'll easily carry your weight. Plus it frees up weapon funds that you can spend on other things. And if we every run into a situation were we don't have weapons you'll be our ace in the hole.
Of course you could also just go straight soldier with the initial set up as well. That'd give you more damage and toughness but less utility.
Thanks for the tips!
Guess i'll skip on the unarmed stuff though, seems just too much trouble and not really effective.I want to play an operative and not take several levels in different classes just so one thing works^^

Well the real trick is to focus Str over Dex for the damage. I'd recommend not overlooking Shuriken Assassin. Carbonedge Shuriken might not seem impressive at first, but the truth is they aren't much worse than most operative melee weapons until mid (8-10) levels. You get your trick attack dmg with them, however, since they aren't actually operative weapons, they get your full level to dmg with weapon spec instead of 1/2 level. With str to dmg it makes the math on them work out to about the same or a bit above most operative weapons as you level.
Between operative mobility and the Thrower Arms armor upgrade you usually don't have much trouble with range either.Get in the face of range weapon users with melee attacks, kite melee weapon with ranged attacks.
I fluffed them as knives and had a lot of fun playing a half-orc version of Danny Trejo's character in Desperado.

Hey! Been fantastically distracted these days. If it is still possible to jump on the train, then I can offer Aerenal Elf, Mystic of Undying Court.
I really like this idea of the "good undead" in Eberron, and presenting the New Aerenal as "Eox on the contrary" is even more fun. Besides, your party needs a healer, believe me .)
If this works, then the character will be ready by Monday.

Yes, the group could use a healer. You can join us now, if you want. Just post on the discussion thread.

JR Klein here. As you can see, I ended up making a half-orc instead. Basic idea is that he was born in a troubled place and was trained for a war which everyone expected, but which never actually happened. So now he's just a hired gun who drifts from place to place, lacking purpose.
Yeah. Report on the discussion thread.

Okay, looking for more players willing to play in a T.V. show type campaign. :)
We need two, and we are playing Starfinder. It's also based in the world of Eberron. Instead of one planet, there are a total of ten. Enemies include the Order of the Emerald Claw and others. You will need the Starfinder core rules to play.
Also, try and limit your class selection to the main book. :) It makes it easier that way.

Okay.
It looks like a lot of actors left our series, so I'm looking for more actors (players) to join us. You are playing in an ensemble show, so each of you will have your character's time to shine.
The Setting is Eberron. Magic technology has reached the point where the Eberronese can explore their solar system. The show is based on Firefly and The Expanse. I don't want to cancel this show, err game, and I'm sure Mem'ori doesn't either.
The ship is the Cosmic Flash.
The game is Starfinder (1st edition).
We are looking for three to five new actors (players).
