Azara does not drop his attunement with the universe but he does pause the fire from the rune plates and does not release the energy pent up in him.
"Your cause is lost, do not lose your life over it, as well. We are all trying to find answers to the current crisis and if Fragment is one, we will figure out the right way to do what is necessary. But fighting now does none of us any good," he says to the woman who just attacked him.

That ‘if’ is quite the modifier, as:
Distracted as he is by Fragment’s fall and Azara and Charli’s exhortations, green is caught completely off guard from a crack-shot from Maverick above. He slumps over, bleeding and burning.

"Stand down!"
What sort of action is it to call for a Surrender and have it work, GM? Is there a mechanic here that I am missing?
"If you want to fix the Drift, work with us. The Starfinder Society has some of the best experts in the galaxy working on rescue missions. I believe there will be a way to restore Triune and reset the Drift, but it will happen through cooperation and science, not murder and lies. Join us and stop fighting!" She gazes at them. "If you want to save the Universe, take this lifeline that I am offering to you."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (5) + 21 = 26
Poshkettle Tea Intern’s Mysticism: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23
Charli, with Spoon's mystical assistance, argues that working with others to solve the broken Drift, is a better solution than murdering Priests.
Charli's inspiring oration heals 28 stamina for each of her colleagues.

GM Zoomba |

Rani steps back, while Charli makes another appeal to the kasathans to stand down.
The female cultist by Azara looks up at the gnome, then at the brightly glowing fighter next to her with blade drawn but momentarily restrained, then at the crumbled and still form of Fragment next to her. "We just...there needs to be a way to fix it. To bring them back. Everyone lost in the Crash, they can't just be gone forever. There has to be...has to have been..."
Her sword and gun fall to the ground as she herself crumbles to her knees rolling slightly away from the very hot armor or Azara. Seeing this, the other two kasathans follow suit shortly.

Yith and Rani rush over to Accordant-Contemplator-16. The invisible forces pinning them in place seem to be fading as the anacite looks up at the vesk and halfing with a combination of relief and confusion.
<Rani. Yith. Steadfast allies! But why are you here? How? Thankful of course. Are you okay? That creature, Fragment, tried to convert me to its beliefs. But beliefs were alien, heresy, goals impossible.>

![]() |

Yeah .... well .... when some entities get a belief, sometimes they hang on to it in desperation, even when the facts say otherwise.
She winced in pain. But what's important is that you're safe now, which can't be said for the rest of your crew ... well ... we did rescue a kiirinta
I can sort of understand their point of view though. The Drift is broken and many souls were lost. They are desperate to fix it - and I sort of agree. This might not be the way but, hopefully, we'll find one.

![]() |

Azara releases the energy of the cosmos, not in a single flash of heat and light but in an invisible beam that reaches out to the sky and diffuses throughout the universe, ready to be tapped by some other creature.
He deactivates his rune plates and they cool with a rapidity that can only be explained by magic.
Kneeling next to the kasathan, he gently cradles her.
"What is gone may not be lost
We must keep our hopes
That it will all be returned.
"The Starfinder society will find a solution. We'll help those who are lost and those who have lost something. It's what we do. The gods may help us but we will do it even if they don't."

![]() |

Neroo is happy to see the Kasatha surrender as no more blood will need to be spilled today.
We will help you as we've helped many other, to find a solution. We will spare no effort to repair the Drift or to find a solution. she says full of hope.
Then she turns to AC16 for tending their wounds.
They wanted to believe that something was amiss and to find a reason to "the Crash". Their goal was good but their mean bad...
As Azara says, we will find a solution together. Something broken could always be repaired!
Still Neroo has some question about "Fragment" is it really a divine being? In this case, from which God? or which divine entity?
She then go to the corps of Fragment, her drone at her heels and takes a better look at the dead entity...

"Now... what can we do to fix the Drift Beacon?"

GM Zoomba |

Sorry about the delay; at first wanted to give everone time/a chance to respond, then have been feeling a bit out of sorts today
Within minutes of Fragment falling, while Yith is tending to the injured and the rest of oyu are seeing to 'AC16' and catching your breaths, the towering stone at the clearing's center settles. The cracks within it rapidly heal and wisps of golden code again resume their spiral orbits about it.
An exhausted Accordant-Contemplator-16 looks at the stone and says <This was the beacon's core access hub. It should be reverting to normal, now that the interference has been ceased. But we...I need to return back. This must be reported.>
Nainiimii who had been staying back during the fighting, combat being far from her talents flies quickly over to the anacite to help them. As 'AC16' walks towards you, and towards your ship, they glances back at the kasathans sitting in a daze. <Fragment's claims about this '4th' cannot be true. Their climas about Triune dying are in all likelihood thus also false. Yet it is concerning. This creature gained such a zealous following, willing to kill in the name of "completeing" the All-Code. And even before the Crisis, heretical factions seem on the rise.> Something those who played 4-15 Feuding Faiths may recall what they are thinking about. <The universe is seeming more unsettled by the week. I am concerned as to what it could mean to our church going forwards. To all churches and peoples.>

GM Zoomba |

You are able to escort Accordant-Contemplator-16 and Nainiimii back to the Thunderbolt And are you taking the three remaining kasathans as well? They have surrendered to you. From there it is only a few day's journey back to reconvene with the Master of Stars.
Upon your arrival Fitch has a full medical team ready to great you and tend to the anacite to give them a full checkup. The ysoki turns to you six. "Well, I was getting worried. Never a good sign when so many top tier agents go off on their own for a bit: tends to mean there's something big enough to justify all that firepower. Got your preliminary reports on your approach." Fitch's expression darkens. "Chronicler lost with almost all hands. So many innocent lives gone. But you managed to rescue Accordant-Contemplator-16 and that kiirinta Nainiimi. That alone's worthy of celebration, even before the whole rest of it."
Fitch motions for you to follow her into a side room before continuing. "Also heard about this 'Fragment' cult. The basics at least, I'm sure the Forum and the like may want a full debrief soon. I know you killed it, but whatever it was was making some BIG claims. If their false, still not good so many people are willing to believe them. And raises some concerns about if this was truly the only cult thinking that. And if any of them have any merit..." she clutches her forhead with a paw and rubs it. "Well, implications like that are way above my paygrade. Not even my god anyway. But we'll deal with it in time. Either way, you did a fantastic job. All six of you. Acknowledge it, enjoy the accomplishments, and then rest up. The Crisis is still causing a lot of trouble everywhere. And stuff like this means there may be new trouble coming we've never even heard of before. Doubt it'll be too long before we'll need you to step up and ship out again!"

Yeah. she says to Accordant-Contemplator-16 I get the Church of Desna is getting some flak too. Have you heard anything like that Yith? Maybe we should check
On the way back, Rani puts on a show for the rest of the crew, acrobatics and escapes, including a rather dangerous looking underwater escape.
((see day job))
After the show, while drying off, she says to Spoons and Charli Hey, here's an idea for an ad. I've been tossed into the water, all tied and chained up. After I escape I swim back to the side of the pool where a mug of tea is sitting and I drink it. I then look at the camera and say Not even unexpected events will keep me from my Poshkettle Tea. Poshkettle, the tea to relax you after a crisis. She paused for a bit. What do you think? she then says hopefully.
After listening to Fitch.
People want hope that the Drift is going to be fixed and their loved ones come home, and they'll grasp onto anything to make that happen. It's gonna be hard sifting through all the rumours, lies, fake news, and conspiracy theories to find the truth. And yeah ... as soon as the Spitfire is ready, I'd like to get back to work and rescue more folks, maybe even tow the Chronicler home. I know where we left her.
But first, I better call my partner. Last I heard, she was dealing with some leftover stuff from Historia Prime on the station. Something about a property he had.

"Whatever you say, Fitch this crisis isn't over yet and I'm always ready when there's a mission that needs to be done."

![]() |

Yes, we take the 3 Kasatha with us! and the two that we met and have not fought.
Neroo was happy to have been able to prevent more death and that Charli was able to convince the last fighting Kasatha to surrender. So much pain and death for a, maybe, false god!
During the flight back to the Master of Star Neroo gives her viewers a heavy modified show of her adventures, rescue, conspiracy theory debunked, heroic Starfinders and beautiful landscape.
Back at the base, she listen to Fitch agreeing with her.
People need to believe in something, being true or not, to explain the unexplainable... I fear more problems will arise. Maverick's right, this crisis is not over, but I hope we will be able to help stop anything that could be as problematic as this "Fragment".
Let me know, if you you need me for the next mission.

![]() |

To Rani: "I have hear rumblings of issues at some gatherings and some remote shrines to Desna. I fear this may be some concerted effort by an unknown entity or group."
She shrugs and smiles. "Could just be my imagination but it seems to happen too often."
Yith smiles at Rani's idea, while enjoying a nice large mug of said tea and joins in discussions with everyone on the way back. She will also check on their captives, make sure they are well and try to talk to them a little, not as interrogator, they'll get hat soon enough, just as a kind soul traveling through the stars...
After the debrief: "I will also be ready to fight against the wickedness of this universe."

Azara spends time with the prisoners on the way back, trying to help them see the promise of the future despite what they have seen in the past.
While the others talk with Fitch, Azara works on his next epic.

Underwater Acrobat."
"A Tea Maven and far more.

And an Idol of millions."
"Servant of Desna the last
How do they relax?
