Oh...and GM...could Goran use Vanessa's wand to heal her without any repercussions? should the need arise...and getting a healer's kit as well as a dose each of antiplague and antitoxin
I believe it is okay to use Vanessa's wand of inflict wounds as the spell is on the cleric's spell list.
And I never did get around to identifying that last one. Troll perhaps?
It was a gray render zombie.
She then turns to Dreng and says with a wink. I presume you would wish the contents of their wine cellar sir?
[b]"Alas, if you are referring to the cult of Zyphus, I suspect their wine cellar holds little in the way of actual wine,"[b] Dreng replies, adding a wink of his own.
Any other questions/purchases/etc. before heading to the burned-out temple?

Lady Vanessa Reisende |
Delighted to meet you, milady... Goran says, taking the offered hand and kissing it lightly. He nods to Spica. I assume you are more than just a secretary... he says with a smile.

As the Lady withdraws her hand from Goran's greeting kiss, she graces him with her trademark dazzling smile. "Yes, in fact she's a vonderfully talented vizard, and incredibly intelligent."
But at Spica's puns, she groans. "Ach! I retract zhat last compliment, dahling," she says with a loving laugh.
"No, Drendle. I don't tsink ve need anytsing else. Alvays a pleazhure, dearie," she says breezily as she blows the Venture Captain a kiss on her way out the door.

"You do know zhat you'll be punished later for each and every one ov zhese puns. So pleeeaaase keep making zhem.... Vanessa whispers breathily to Spica and blows gently into her seashell shaped ear.
Spica Capella |
She grins back at Vanessa, in anticip ... ation at what she said.
Oooof. Vanessa. I saw that one coming a mile away. Digging up that old chestnut? That one has been done sooooo many times it's been done to death ... or undeath perhaps. A pun as a Haunt? Fascinating possibility.
To Goran she says. Apparently they stand in a circle and have to come up with a pun about a given subject. They believe that if it's good and original enough, Zon-Kuthon will bless the punster with the ability to cause pain to the others because of the pun. If you can't come up with a pun, you're out and subject to later ridicule unless you were previously blessed. Last person standing in the Ruling Punster.
Personally I like puns because one needs to be well read and quick witted. It is said that the pun is the more intellectual form of humour
I have yet to master the more intricate form though. It's called a Feghoot after a writer who published a whole series of them. Other writers have since copied this form and there are quite a few examples in my library. Basically a Feghoot is a short story that ends in a pun, the more unexpected the better She pauses for a moment There is this story about Stein the Wizard who was sentenced to seven days imprisonment for something or other. On the day before his sentence, he used some sort of time spell to skip ahead seven years and one day. When he reappeared there was this argument about whether he had served his sentence or not. The Adjudicator finally settled it by saying "A niche in time saves Stein"
Goran Baldaros |
Ah...I get it...yes..I agree puns and the like are a higher form of humour. The down point of the type is if your audience doesn't get the reference. I do appreciate the style though. And no further questions, Master Dreng. I think we're off...no more gear I think I'm good...
GM Valen |
After a hurried early morning rush to gather supplies in Absalom, several days in the blustery Inner Sea, and another spent weaving through the bureaucracy of the Taldan customs rituals, you find yourself walking through a chilly, early morning rain storm and approaching what the vagabond locals say is the location of the burned-out temple to Sarenrae.
Rain patters down in sheets over the scorched skeleton of a once majestic temple. Walls of thick, blackened masonry stand tall and abandoned, with gaping wounds revealing where stained glass windows once caught the morning sun. The roof has collapsed and most of its remnants are long gone. Only large, immovable remnants of the crumbling masonry remain in the rubble piles scattered throughout the ruin.
All that remains inside this ruin are rocks and chunks of wood either too worn down and ruined to be of use or too heavy to carry away. There are signs that this place has been used in the past for shelter, but it has since completely collapsed, and most of the residents of the vagabond camp seem to give it wide berth.
Two sets of ruined stairs in the temples south wall lead up to a once proud pulpit. At the back of the pulpit, an enormous stone lid, several hundred pounds in weight, has been pulled off a set of stairs leading down into darkness.
Map of the burned-out temple now on Slides.
The former consul of Oppara, Magistros Sebastus Hustavan, is here, currently being menaced by a pack of wild dogs. Hustavan is well over 6 feet tall, shockingly thin, and quite old. His head is balding and fringed by frizzled gray hair. His chin and cheeks are covered in several weeks’ worth of beard growth, the gray hairs standing out against his pale, leathery skin. He wears long white robes, muddy, torn, and ragged, and wears what looks to be a blue sash tied around his waist as a belt. The dogs are mangy, dirty things that wander the fringes of the vagabond camp in search of food or easy prey.
When you arrive, Hustavan stands on the pulpit, which stands ten feet above the remains of the temple's stone floor. He’s wielding a long piece of wet, rotting wood and is just barely keeping a pack of ferocious canines at bay.
As you enter the temple ruins, the creatures abandon Hustavan to his perch and turn to attack.

Thank you for keeping me apprised and notified as to the potential need for botting. It is much appreciated, but please take whatever time you need to tend to real life.

"Am I okay? Nein!"
The Magistros says nothing in response.

The shot just manages to strike the furry foe's flesh.

The Lady continues holding her spells to allow the boys to deal with the last puppy. Though in truth, her ability to affect animals magically is very limited. Well, unless you count certain men behaving badly, then she can certainly deal with those kinds of "animals."
But she, too, shares Spica's pique at the former Magistros' attitude. She turns her full attention on the fallen noble, her glare fixing him in place. "Mister Hustavan," she begins with a clear and unmistakably imperial emphasis on the commonness of his new title. "Ve are now your betters, and you vill treat and speak to my colleagues accordingly." Her flat tone makes it clear that she will not accept any argument on this point.
