Destiny of Sands |Guardian|Table 2 | On the Trail of History

Whether spurred by desperation, madness, or a lack of any other alternative, the remaining man (blue) picks up his sword, then rushes past Derf...
Provoking an AoO

... and headlong toward the rest of the party.

Charging forth toward the gunman, the cultist threatens Nikita. "You shot the others, but I will kill you!" he screams as he brandishes his short sword back and forth. Unfortunately for the man, as he passes by the black canvas and the rock trap previously "fixed" by Derf, the edge of the blade gets caught in a peace of canvas. Drawn taut, the canvas shifts, the disturbance causes a stone to slip, which looses the otherwise emplaced stones above it, and the entire heavy contents of the rock trap promptly collapse down upon the man as he reaches Nikita, covering both he and the Pathfinder!
Falling rock trap damage (B): 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2, 2) = 9

Knowledge (religion) (DC 13):
The man (blue) was a fortune-spurned cultist of Zyphus and has suffered a calamitous mishap.
Calamitous Mishap (Su) As a free action once per encounter, a fortune-spurned creature can cause some calamity to befall itself and another creature within 5 feet of it. The mishap selected must be a possible result of normal circumstances, but it can be the worst possible result. For instance, lightning could strike both the fortune-spurned creature and its foe on a cloudy day, or it could strike a tree, causing a heavy limb to fall on both targets, but lightning could not strike out of a clear sky. Alternatively, ropes holding up some scaffolding might break, the lock on a portcullis might slip, or the floor of a ruined keep might give way. In some cases, the fortune-spurned creature might be unable to cause any calamity given its surroundings. A calamity cannot affect anyone other than the fortune-spurned creature and a single adjacent creature of its choice. Nearly any natural misfortune may be chosen, but it must be one that is as dangerous to the fortune-spurned creature as it is to the other creature. Both targets must be affected equally—that is, both must make the same saving throw and suffer the same result. Thus, if the fortune-spurned creature is immune or resistant to electricity, it could not choose to have lightning strike both it and its foe unless the foe is equally resistance to electricity.

Due the rather unconventional way the scenario cave has been written carved from the rock makes it largely unclear just from where the voices originated. There is no pipe, only trenches and the basin, all of which lie depressed into the floor at an angle so to allow liquid to flow toward the basin. The basin appears to be a few feet deep so to allow for the full immersion of a Medium humanoid within its liquids.

The basin is an "obstacle" and, thus, Derf does not have a partial charge lane.

Also, my apologies but Baillaset is large. Size corrected on

i meant you, GM...didn't wanna say stuff that might have a bearing on things if it wasn't my turn to say...but yeah, Lady V is the boss here...lol

Goran steps up and fires a blinding ray at the fiend.

Feel Sarenrae's touch, monster!

Buckle your seatbelts, this is about to get convoluted. Derf's AoO will be a trip attempt. He does not have improved trip, so he provokes. However, as the bad guy takes his AoO, I activate Halfling Opportunist, to aid my attack.

Halfling Opportunist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 vs CMD

Probably not enough, so the bad guy resolves his AoO. If it is enough, he is at -3 on the attack and I am at +3 on mine. If he hits me, of course, I'll take a huge penalty on the trip attempt. Regardless, here it is.

trip attempt: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19

Over to you @GM, have fun figuring it all out :)

I'll wait to find out if it fell or not. By the way, my AC in sidebar was still like I was walking without armor at the opera! )) Actual AC is 20 and against this monster is 24 since smite evil is activated.

As a reminder everyone gets +1 to attacks (including AOs and Combat Maneuvers), weapon damage, skills, and saves. And Bailiset takes a -1 to everything.

Also waiting until GM resolves Derf's actions.

The ray scorches the sizable foe.

It is not enough.

Baillaset easily avoids the halfling's attempt and strikes back.

Derf fails to trip when Baillaset strikes back, but he is not knocked prone.

Baillaset continues onto his intended foe, Nikita, but strikes only armor.

Goran's divine magic connects, hurting the monster, as do Spica's barrage of force bolts.

Lady Vanessa Resiende of Panglois knows that she is indeed the Boss. She steps inside Bailiset's reach and calls upon the most ancient of curses to befall him.

The cleric then casts blessing of fervor.

Targets (allies) in range: Everyone.
@Nikita: You could choose to gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls (and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves) in round two. Together with prayer it might turn your attack into a hit...

Blessing of Fervor wrote:

With this blessing, you call your allies to move forth and empower them to conquer and become victorious. Each round for the duration of this spell, each of your allies can choose one of the following bonuses for that round at the beginning of its turn (their choice).

* Increase its speed by 30 feet.
* Stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
* Take one extra attack as part of a full attack action, using its highest base attack bonus.
* Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.
* Cast a single spell of 2nd level or lower as if it were an enlarged, extended, silent, or still spell.

These effects are not cumulative with similar effects, such as those provided by haste or a speed weapon, nor do they actually grant an extra action, so you can't use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round. Blessing of fervor does not stack with haste.
