GM Kwinten |

Hello all!
I'll be your GM for this special. Some notes from me:
- I'll be unavailable from October 24th onward due to an operation. As of right now, that should only include the wrap-up and chronicle hand-outs. I've notified other GMs and someone should be able to take over. I'm sorry I can't do it myself, but I hope I can still check in on time to thank you for playing and signing off.
- As this is a special, you're expected to be able to post several times a day. I hope to update as soon as possible as well. I live in western Europe, in timezone GMT +2. My typical hours are from 11 in the morning to just after midnight, for reference.
- There are three players so far. Maybe we'll pick up one more, but please decide on a pregen and who is responsible for controlling them. I'm fine with you all controlling the pregen, but I'd like one "main" person to be responsible for them.
- Please fill out your information in the links above and place your tokens and such. The links just below my username are for my other campaign; ignore those. I'll try to spoiler tag them so you don't get confused, but they're being finicky.
- I'm probably forgetting a lot of things, but I'll post those as I remember them.
Have fun!

GM Kwinten |

A side note, the macros/slides are view only. I have requested edit access to add my information.
Ergh, I seem to screw that up from time to time. Everyone should have free access now, sorry about that.
Welcome and have fun! :)

Ingmar Ironfist, reporting for duty!
Stone Druid 2 ... pretty decent with medicine (and I have tools!), and I usually have a heal spell memorized. I also have Healing Plaster so that can cover a second set of healing tools (for me, or anyone else)
Of note, since he is from Dongon Keep, with his Dwarven Weapons feat, he is able to use a clan pistol (though not that well, though!). More color than anything, and he's more likely to use spells for his attacks. He is a casting druid, so doesn't have an AC, nor does he wild shape.
---
John, are you making sure to note that your backpack (assuming you have one) carries 2 bulk that doesn't count against your carrying capacity? I know it is something often missed.
---
GM - just so that you know, I ran this at Gen Con (tier 3-4) and will be attending/organizing a convention (SkålCon 2022) Sept 30 - October 2. I will make sure to have good botting instructions on my profile, and will do my best to post during that period (but no guarantees).

What kinds of knowledge skills we got covered? My alchemist has most of the knowledge skills except for Nature, but I'm guessing the druid has that covered.
I think I'm leaning more toward my Fighter or Gunslinger at this point since we have a druid to help with the healing now. More damage is always good!

![]() |

Yeah, I've got nature down, and religion. Good at Survival, ok at Crafting.
In the end, play what will be fun for you!

GM Kwinten |

Hey all, your GM here. With the special officially starting on Monday, I'd like to make sure everyone has their characters ready. Please lock in your final choices. I think so far we have:
Agent Eclipse - Champion
Silbeg - Druid
ModusOp - ? Options: Fighter, Alchemist, Gunslinger
John Woodford - ? Options: Rogue, Barbarian, Wizard
ModusOp says they prefer Fighter/Gunslinger. John says they lean towards the Rogue. I personally think the Wizard might be a good choice to round out the mental stats, but I'm just the GM, I don't mean to push you in any direction. On the other hand, with a party of four, maybe an extra frontliner wouldn't be a bad option.
Just so everyone knows: The plan right now is to start the introduction on Monday the 11th, with the start of Act 1 on the 14th. So you have a few days of in-character introductions and opening skill checks before I throw you into the deep end.
Also, please everyone fill in the forms at the top of the page! It saves me a lot of time and hassle when we begin.

Should I look to recruit 1-2?

GM Kwinten |

Should I look to recruit 1-2?
If we do get a fifth person, feel free to recruit one more person. I'd rather not fill this up so that people who have already signed up suddenly don't have space anymore.

![]() |

I think we have one coming.
I will dig out the sign up sheet
Who is missing?

![]() |

Hi all! Just signed up at the suggestion of Ingmar (so you can blame him).
Looking at the above, it seems a wizard is a good fit. Aurika has you covered.

GM Kwinten |

Welcome, Aurika! :D
As John said, the final person isn't familiar with the Paizo forums, so let's hope they didn't get lost somewhere. I'd like to keep the final spot open for them until I get confirmation they're not coming.

For what it's worth if it helps people make decisions Aurika is an Illusionist and is trained in Thievery (with tools). She's got Arcana, Crafting, and Society down. So if you're making decisions based on coverage, consider that. But I will echo what Ingmar said: play what you want to. We'll be fine.
Also, filled out the sheets GM. Aurika isn't a complicated PC but let me know if you have any questions

GM Kwinten |

Please decide on your school items and make last-minute purchases now. Also distribute any Hero Points from GM Glyphs if you have them.
Also make sure to have your Exploration Activity clearly visible so I know what to roll. I currently have this for initiative (please correct me if I'm wrong):
Karamjeet's Initiative Using Scout (+8)
Aurika's Initiative Using Avoid Notice (+7)
Ingmar's Initiative Using Search (+8)
Zourn's Initiative Using Defend (+4)
Plus one initiative for everyone because Karamjeet is Scouting.
As for Challenge Points, I see the following:
Zourn level 1 (2 CP)
Aurika level 2 (3 CP)
Nic level 1 (2 CP)
Karamjeet level 1 (2 CP)
Ingmar level 2 (3 CP)
That's 12 Challenge Points, just so you all know.

Aurika will grab a Scroll of Magic Weapon, which she will plan to use on one of the martials at some point.

![]() |

Ingmar will pick up a scroll of heal

![]() |

So, I have 3 glyphs, and a campaign coin.
Do we have any other glyphs in the party? If we happen to have 6 total, then each of us gets an extra hero point without even having to think about it

![]() |

Are we waiting on something to get going?
It is odd, since it has now been 3 days and we haven’t seen the overseer’s post starting us off

![]() |

GM, go ahead and push.
We can always flashback RP as we want.

GM Kwinten |

By the way, I see three people with the Medicine skill. For the sake of speed, I'm going to assume you manage to heal everyone up fine out of combat. There's no time pressure, so you can take as long as you want.
If someone drops in combat, I'll keep things going until people are stable, then everything is fine.

GM Kwinten |

We're nearing the end of this area. After you clear an area, you have to go back to camp and rest (yeah, the areas are pretty small). Which area do you want to explore next? There's the Labyrinth and the Sunken Halls left.
Ingmar, you haven't given out your Glyphs yet. Who do you give them to?
Also, as an aside, how do you like my GM style so far? Are there things I should stop doing, things I need to improve upon? I'd like to make sure everyone's having a good time.

![]() |

My vote is the Sunken Halls next. A little bit of underwater action could be fun.
Ingmar knows better than to give the glyphs to me. :)
And GM, doing great so far. Keep us moving!

![]() |

I lead the choice last time so I am totally fine with getting my feet wet, can't say the same for Zourn (but he will have to get over it because I am in charge, haha).

it appears, based on this page only Nic and Aurika are without 3?
Can you confirm this for me, GM?

GM Kwinten |

Everyone starts at 1. You can hand out two more. The base sheet does portray it weirdly, I think.
I corrected the sheet so everyone has one. Please add your two.
The campaign coin you can hand out at any time, right?

![]() |

Yes, the campaign coin is a hero point that I can give to someone else at any time.

![]() |

given out to Nic and Zourn.

![]() |

Thanks Ingmar.
Also GM you are doing a phenomenal job GMing so far. Fantastic pace for the special too.

GM Kwinten |

No attack of opportunity for Karamjeet?
Good point. The very literal rules reading says that you regain your actions (and reaction) at the start of your turn. That would mean that if enemies act before you, you haven't gained your reaction yet. But I also know that there's several feats that allow a reaction as initiative is being rolled (which would be impossible).
I don't know how to feel about this rules conflict. I usually go with "you have no reaction until your turn starts," but if people disagree, I'm willing to go with the majority here.
In this particular case, Intruder 2 would have provoked, I would've used that 4 I rolled for Karamjeet just now, and Intruder 1 would've stepped twice to avoid provoking. Same end result.

![]() |

If it matters, that is how I have always ruled it as well, and that includes for the bad guys as well.
That said, I am fine with however you run it, as long as it is done the same way for both sides, and we know how it is being done.

![]() |

I'm fine with your ruling either way, but I had to ask as RAW also says "The GM determines whether you can use reactions before your first turn begins, depending on the situation in which the encounter happens."
As we were aware of the of the people who came to attack us, we may have been prepared. But again, that's a GM judgment call on a case by case basis.
I'm still learning all of the (many) nuances of the PF2 ruleset, so I always ask.
