Let's talk out-of-character stuff here.

GM Frost |

Welcome to the game, everyone! A few rules to abide for everyone:
1. Kindly fill up the information needed in Slides and Macros linked above before we formally start the game. Also, please make sure to at least have the following information on your character's stat block for easy reference: Hit Points (HP), Armor Class (AC), Saving Throws (Fortitude, Reflex, and Will), Perception bonus, and Speed.
2. Post at least once everyday, and once on weekends. As we play the game, I would like to remind everyone that as per the Organized Play Foundation Community Standards and Expectations, it reads:
No Character-versus-Character Combat
In keeping with the “Explore, Report, Cooperate” motto of the Pathfinder Society, engaging in non-consensual character-versus-character conflict is prohibited. While accidental friendly fire happens due to missed attack rolls or other factors, players must obtain the consent of other players before deliberately including fellow PCs in damaging effects [emphasis mine]. Engaging in character-versus-character conflict will award Infamy points and may render a character unplayable. This rule does not apply in situations where a character is not acting of their own free will, such as if they’re being mind-controlled by an NPC and forced to attack a fellow Pathfinder.
3. Enjoy the game. :)
We will start the game on 11 September 2022.

I noticed that Aldonza bowed out in favor of Black Molly due to being too high a level, but this scenario is listed as Levels 1-4. Is Mandoo still okay to play as a Level 3 PC? I'll assume so, but if not, let me know.
I've updated the Macros document. I filled a line for my Summoner Mandoo and another for his Eidolon Libitina. There are only 6 lines in the macros document so given that we're 6+1, I'm not sure what to do about that. If an extra line cannot be added, then removing Libitina from the list is the obvious answer, but then her Scouting will not be included in the generated initiatives and she won't be included in the other skill rolls.
Libitina does not roll for initiative; she shares Mandoo's slot in the initiative order. Mandoo has Incredible Initiative which means he gets a +2 circumstance bonus to his initiative. Libitina Scouts, so everyone gets a +1 circumstance bonus to initiative (except Mandoo since it doesn't stack with his Incredible Initiative). The +1 to initiative is automatically added due to Libitina's Scouting, but Mandoo's additional +1 (for a total of +12) is not included.
I added Mandoo and Libitina to the marching order, but as they tend to stick together and as Libitina is generally considered a front-liner (especially given their relatively advanced levels in this scenario), I had to move Molly's tokens slightly to make that happen. Let me know if this is a problem.

We're still at low tier, even with Mandoo (Level 3) and Aldonza (Level 3), though we'll be at the higher end of the tier in terms of challenge. It is okay if you still play Mandoo in this game.

You’ve given me an idea; I’m going to change Black Molly to a summoner. Hope you don’t mind. Any advice?
Don't mind in the least.
A good resource I've looked at is FlurryofBlunders’ Guide to the PF2e Summoner.
I've got 2 summoner PCs: Mandoo with Psychopomp eidolon and Scarlet with Plant eidolon. In both cases I've gone with the STR-based Eidolon ability array because I want them to be more tanky front-liners to contrast with the weaker back-line support Summoner. I see the Summoner's job as keeping the Eidolon in the fight for as long as possible, so I tend to favor WIS, Heals and Medicine; both my Summoners have similar ability scores (+4 CHA, +3 WIS). But that isn't the only option. Many Summoners prefer to go with DEX or CON as a secondary abililty instead of WIS to make them a little tougher, and I've seen some that go all-in with STR (sacrificing their CHA in the process) so that they can get in there and mix it up with their Eidolon (flanking buddies and all that). Sending your Summoner and Eidolon into melee together strikes me as a quick way to 0 HP given that they share the same HP pool and only get to share 4 actions per turn between the two of them. It's really up to your character concept which way you want to go.

Hello, everyone. I hope you are all doing well. There is still enough time before the start of PbP Gameday XI, and I would like to take that opportunity for everyone to fill up the information needed on Slides (pages 2 and 3) and Macros (for skill modifiers for secret checks and initiative) linked above this game thread. I would like you to also have in your character tags to include Hit Points (HP), Armor Class (AC), Saving Throws (Fortitude, Reflex, and Will), Perception bonus, and Speed, for easy reference. If there are changes in your character or swapping of characters, kindly make the changes also on the Sign-Up Sheet (also linked above), so that I can determine the total challenge points I will refer to for this game.
If you have GM glyphs or campaign coins that you would like to share for extra hero points, they are welcome. Please do tell me who would you like to receive it or we can do so randomly via dice roll if that is better. Thank you.

GM Frost |

One week to go before PbP Gameday XI starts. I would like to remind those who have not done so yet to fill up the Slides (pages 2 and 3) and Macros (for secret checks) linked above. Thank you!

Just a bit on Desmond if there is any confusion:
Desmond thinks of himself as a non-combatant and as a hired medic, not as a Pathfinder himself. He will, of course, be contributing in all the normal ways, but may make comments implying he's not part of the group. He won't raise a weapon against anyone, but as you'll see that doesn't mean he's against helping in the fight.

GM Frost |

Thank you, Eovar. To everyone, please also state your PFS item for this game. And if any of you have glyphs to share, please do so.

Mandoo's bonus consumable is a Level 1 Heal scroll.

GM Frost |

That is true. It is helpful to have at least one in the team trained in Medicine, what more a bunch of experts in the skill.

Tieri has a glyph hero point to give to Mandoo because he and Libitina put up with me running an earlier game.
He brabs a minor healing potion from the school.
And before I break your macro page, I need a new line for Tieri as well.

GM Frost |

I added another line, Tieri. Thanks for pointing that out.

Please don't report Tieri to the Board of Dentistry!

I'm a little confused by the skills here. Are these checks that we would each need to make, in order. On the surface it seems that way, but sometimes the way scenarios present a challenge is not always how the mechanics work out. Or do we attempt them as a group as as soon as the first is made, we move on to the second, etc?
I'm really hesitant to try, as I'm not trained in them and my chance of success is distinctly less than that of a critical failure, which sometimes hurts more than a success helps.
Either way I'm off for a week, so please feel free to NPC me as you see fit.

You can perform any of the given skills as long as it satisfies the requirement (like for Acrobatics to maneuver through the fog (which means you must be in the fog)). If you can, you can support others if you wish to not roll the skills you are untrained.

GM Frost |

Apologies, I ended up very sick while traveling and have been bed-ridden.
We hope you get well soon. Your health is more important.

![]() |

If you can, you can support others if you wish to not roll the skills you are untrained.
Aid rolls are (usually) against a DC of 20, with a crit fail resulting in a -1 penalty to the skill roll being aided.
They are generally used in single-roll group situations by PCs (at least) trained in the skill to attempt to support the single roller who (usually) has the highest skill bonus (think Diplomacy or Thievery). They are also used by PCs (at least) trained in the skill to attempt to support those PCs that are untrained in the skill but are being forced to roll due to circumstances (think Athletics or Acrobatics).
Unless the chances of success with Aid are greater-than the chances of a crit fail, it is not worth attempting. Most PCs untrained in a skill will fall into this category.

GM Frost |

We are close to the end of the scenario. Kindly check your info on the sign-up sheet linked above for your chronicles. You can also roll your downtime here if you want it to be included.

day job labor lore DC14: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
The weedy armed and rather distractible gnome earns a pitiful 1sp and 6cp from a hard week of laboring.
And you wonder why they wanted to join the society.
(earn income 1.6sp)

![]() |

During his downtime, Mandoo helps train a small team of undead hunters on the intricacies of dealing with zombies in preparation for a tomb clearing operation...
Undead Lore (Earn Income) vs DC 14: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
...the team barely makes it back in one piece after a successful operation.
That's a success and so according to this table Mandoo only earns 4sp for his work.

Just passing by to roll downtime...
DC 14 Academia Lore to Earn Income: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Failure

Since you are level 3, would not the DC 15 apply instead? It is Failure though but you still get 16 cp.

Surgery Lore: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Tieri extracts the right tooth this time! 4 sp for his efforts.

Shoot! You're right. I cut and pasted from the last adventure when he was still level 2. Looks like the team he was training to go zombie hunting was never seen again. His training track record is not great.

As for Slipp, you instead earn 8 cp for a Failure for Level 1.

[dice=Sailing Lore]1d20+4

I would like you to check the sign-up sheet. It seems a level 3 character is registered instead of level 1 Black Molly.

Oh, sorry about that! I thought the level range was 1-3, and Aldonza had just made 4. My apologies, I didn’t think to correct the sheet

GM Frost |

Black Molly, you still have not made any changes to the sign-up sheet. A different character is still signed up on it.

Updated. Sorry about that. Thanks for running!
Good game everyone!
