Pai's eyes go as wide as dinner plates as she notes Kevin and Nana serenely crossing the room. Catching her jaw as it drops, she manages to squeak incredulously: "...Kevin? ... I..." For once, she's speechless. Write that on your calendars, folks.
Kanubis
|
K'Anubis noticably got strained when headless moonbeast appeared on the wet hall. He wears on jackal-head helmet and entered battle stance preparing to protect Pai.
He farts with relief, realizing that no immediate danger here. The dwarf stands near door to next area.
-I'd as you to say in advance of you are going to use such awkward magic. I could react in an unnecessary way
...
Seeing that burglar face troubles with the door, K'Anubis takes away from bag of holding an adamantine crowbar with inscription "trusty buddy" and suggests to use it.
Mechanically it provides +4 to Str checks to force open, but I believe narratively it can be used in a different way :)
Nana Grilka
|
"What is you on about, you silly?" Nana asks the dwarf with the animal head. "I's told you I's bringing Kevin."
The green-hued mount hovers a few feet off the ground, its tentacles writhing.
Kanubis
|
-well, I was not actually obvious about such an extravagant creature. I still can not get to it in Society you summon so large things into so small halls. - K'Anubis grumbles from inside the helmet tryin to look upwards ... Almost unsuccessfully.
Kahwen
|
Kahwen's feathers ruffle up as he sees Kevin and he reaches for his sword. When he sees Nana astride the beast he shakes his head and settles back down to work.
The creature is probably the least uncanny, disturbing and frightening thing they're going to encounter in here.

These two chambers are dusty and devoid of living creatures.
Stone tables, workbenches, and shelves furnish the room,
many of them crowded with ancient alchemy equipment and
empty containers.
Pai Shecks
|
Once everyone's across, Pai zips through the air into the room on the right (south). "Oooo. Someone was a tinkerer! Though, if it's a tomb, why the heck would they need this stuff here? That makes no sense!" She tries *super hard* to spot any traps in the room. If she doesn't see any, she flies closer to examine the contents, musing: "Anything in here worth saving?"

Kahwen
|
Despite himself, Kahwen starts to relax when the first three rooms they find don't present any immediate threats.
"Perhaps this place isn't so bad," he comments. "Maybe Sevenfingers didn't feel like he had to protect it since it was so hard to get to."
He helps Pai search the area for anything useful or interesting.

Not to doubt you my friend, but I would not put it past that sea rat to trap anything and everything...even magically...perhaps one of the others with mystic abilities can scan? Mykel muses as he looks about the area.

Most of the alchemical equipment has degraded
to uselessness. However, the room still contains enough
odds and ends to cobble together a functional alchemist’s lab
it seems to be bare otherwise, very......time worn, and nothing of significant value in the room
as you look and take anything if you do the remaining door is unlocked
upon opening it
This chamber is sculpted to resemble a spacious captain’s cabin.
The walls, floor, and ceiling are covered with rich but weathered
mahogany panels and a large bed covered with dusty silk
sheets and fine linens dominates the middle of the far wall. Five
worm-eaten tapestries hang from the walls, each depicting a
sailing ship adrift in stormy seas under attack from an assortment
of ferocious sea monsters. A desk cluttered with stacks of moldy
books and crumbling scrolls sits against the south wall. Mounted
to the wall above the desk is a grotesque leather mask resembling
an eyeless human face with a scraggly beard.
Mykel Therinor
|
That's....disturbing.... the Taldan says as he sees the mask. He waves his hand to get rid of some of the cobwebs around his head.
Might be something worth salvaging there... indicating the books and scrolls.
Kahwen
|
After opening the lock, Kahwen carefully examines the remaining room for any dangers. He pays particular attention to the mask and even checks under the bed for monsters.
Perception: 1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 16 + 2 = 24

We'll swing back to the north room with an A3 in it later.
"This is...too easy. So far." Pai flies after the group and hovers over the bed, checking to see if it's unoccupied. Her brows draw together in--well, not worry per se, but definitely wariness. At this point, she's watching out for threats more than treasure. "Yeah, if that mask isn't magical...I'd guess this is a more elaborate trap than we thought. 'Cause honestly, if there's nothing dangerous or valuable here, there's gotta be a hidden door or something to the real tomb, right? There's gotta be. 'Cause if that bloody portal is just a ruse, we've been regally had." As usual, when Pai gets nervous her mouth runs constantly.
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34
+2 more for hidden objects
Anything in the bed worth noting? If not, she'll start looking for a secret door or anything hidden. I can do a separate roll for that if you want.
Kanubis
|
K'Anubis farts as soon as he see strange leather face-mask. He nods -DIsturbing it is. Can someone touch it with mage hand? , -in agreement.
THen he decided to check behind every tapestry one by one, expecting a safeplace or some stash.
Well. I see a passage on the map now also :) Hopefully Pai finds in mechanically anyway ...
Nana Grilka
|
"Oh, books is boring! We is lookin' for pirate booty! Jewels and gold!"
Nana maintains her Detect Magic spell and takes note of the mask. "He looks quite pretty. I's wonderin' what 'is name is? I's forgotten to bring George today you see." Nana's fingers tap on the top of a polished humanoid skull attached to her belt.
Pai Shecks
|
One of Pai's eyebrows makes a break for her hairline. "Uhhh... Okay, I'll bite. Is that skull George? 'Cause if so, it looks like you brought him."
Nana Grilka
|
"He's only George when I makes 'im George, you sillies!" Nana giggles. "An' I doesn't have the right spell today."
Defending Bone uses a skull or femur as a focus component :)
Pai Shecks
|
Pai's other eyebrow joins the raised one. ...'He's only George when I make him George'...? What? "Oh. Right. How silly of me." She turns back to searching for a hidden door bewildered expression.

“Ahoy, villains! Though my eyes are long gone, I can still tell when I’m in the company of rascals and thieves! What brings you wretched scalawags to Sevenfingers’s tomb? And have you brought old Thael Shivers a nip of grog to share?
there are treasures and I will list what you found when you go to the next area, as for the top area of A3, it is the same as the lower A3

"What?! Who said that? Where are you?! --Okay, you answered the second question already. But seriously, where are you?" Pai's head whips around as she tries to locate the source of the voice.
Kanubis
|
Kanubis stops to interfere gobelins around when new voice appeared to be in the hall.
-Is it face-skin talking or someone uses illusions to do that? I've got some dwarven liquid fire which is not in use for my stomach.
The dwarf continues to look for something useful after this comment, using "Trusty Buddy" to stick away everything handy especially which seems magical or odd.

"You bring so many of your own friends, it hardly seems you need a team to join you, Friend Nana," Kahwen says.
He jumps, literally, 3 feet in the air when the voice sounds. His feathers puff up again and he spins this way and that, sword at the ready as he looks for the source of the voice.

does Mykel pour some alcohol for him on the mask? if so Mykel give me a diplomacy check, and if others are going to aid him, what are you going to tell this mask or say to him to help aid Mykel?
Kanubis
|
-Did I mention my bad stomach? Forget about this. Here is a pers...khm... a face to drink without it at all. -, K'Anubis nods with interest, still suggesting some dwarven liquid fire.
THe dwarf then decide's to look for more alco and beverages, and covers area around with different goods he puts out from bag of holding...
Pai Shecks
|
Now that Pai can tell that the voice is coming from the mask, she heaves a sigh of relief. A look of bemusement splashes across her face as Mykel pours whiskey on the mask. "Oh. My. Word! Dude, if you wanted drinks so bad you should've made your entire tomb a vast vat of alcohol. It's not like you need to breathe, after all. And it's really good at preserving stuff!"
Nana Grilka
|
Nana chuckles at Kahwen's remark, then adds to Pai: "This isn't his tomb, it's Sevenfingers's! But I s'pose you're right, Thael is stuck here too!"
"I 'asn't got any more booze for you Thael, me jolly jack tar, but I's can get you out of here if you wants. As long as you 'elps us, o' course!"
Nana lapses into pirate slang as she converses with the mask that claims to be Thael Shivers.
Nana's a notorious pirate herself, having sailed the Shackles during the Plunder and Peril modules.

"Good job, Friend Mykel," he says as way of encouragement.

"Ughhh. Naaames. I was never very good at them. Pissed off a bunch of snobby noble kids that way, let me tell you. Pshhht." Pai rolls her eyes at the memories, then remembers they're in a dangerous place and continues looking for a secret door.
BTW, GM Saffire Fox: Pai rolled perception a while back. Did she find anything?

“I’m Thael Shivers. Back in the day, Sevenfingers and I were heated rivals. He won, I reckon.”
“Leng. Sevenfingers has gone to Leng. Been gone for months now.”
Why did he go to Leng? “He seeks the Mines of Baol-Kataar.
That’s where he hopes to find some magical rubies.”
“If he gathers enough of them, he can build an engine that’ll give his
ship the power to sail between the planes and to other worlds.”
“Nothing good, I can tell you that! His first stop will be here to reclaim his prized possession, the Voracious. Then he’ll feed the engine the right rubies and pay the Shackles a little visit. Yes, Old Sevenfingers has big plans for the Shackles, he does. And big plans for the rest of Golarion!”
“He has a special ruby ring that his friends in Leng gave him. He uses it to jump between here and Leng.
“With help from his friends in Leng, Sevenfingers transformed his body and is immortal now. He’s an unnatural creature, but if he’s undead or some other kind of monstrosity, I don’t know. Wish I could describe
him for you, but as you can see, I seem to have lost my eyes!”
Pai does notice a bit of stonework that doesn't seem to completely match up, but it does not budge or seem to show signs of how to open it
Kanubis
|
-So this guy not only has seven fingers probably, but also neglefts cycle of life and death. We really should give him a chat. , - K'Anubis nods getting out to light a small but fat clay bottle.
If Pai shares her founding, K'Anubis makes a gesture, suggesting Shiver's remains the bottle in exchange for the key.
Nana Grilka
|
"What about Sevenfingers' treasure? It is here, or did 'e take it with 'im? An' how does we follow 'im? I's goin' to have a hard time being Pirate Queen of the Shackles if Sevenfingers comes back with a magic ship!"
GM I think you mentioned some magic items? ;)
Pai Shecks
|
Pai listens with half an ear while having a staring contest with the wall. She muses: Great. I *hate* dead things that don't stay in their graves! Or tombs. Whatever this is. <shudder> He'd better not be a ghast! <double shudder>
Eventually: victory! "Oh hey guys! This stonework doesn't match! Secret door! Secret door! Secret door! I found it--Uh. How does it open?" Pai's exuberance is short-lived as she tries to open it and can't figure out how. Her shoulders sag a moment before shrugging as she begins to search for a hidden switch or lever or something.
Mykel Therinor

Well, thanks for the quick history of Sevenfingers...always good to know more about your opponent... Mykel says to the mask.
Secret door? Kahwen, I think that means your expertise is needed...

Kahwen snaps out of his paranoid trance, actually looking to where Pai has indicated there is a door.
He joins her and looks for himself, also checking for traps.

Kahwen, you can not see where anything mechanical allows it to move, it looks like its more of an off set brickway then a mechanical door
Kahwen I need a Reflex save

GM Sapphire Fox

as green slime starts to come down from the door, Kahwen is able to dodge it just in time as it lands and splashes, before dissipating
Nana Grilka
|
"Ooh, icky. Reminds me of the bathtub after my husband finished!"
"Does you need help with the secret wall door thingy? I's got an adamantine chopper, or I's can summon some earth elementals to pull the wall apart?"
Kanubis
|
K'Anubis suggest Mykel at use his adamantine crowbar "Trusty Buddy" as it is likely more efficient.
Before this he sniffs air just nearby acidic splash impact.
Moreover the dwarf comes closer to a face-skin and asks politely, pointing Kahwen hlnear the door.
-Cudya tell's how topen dis? Nd is Leng in there or?.. ,- K'Anubis alludues to a dwarven liquor bottle in his possession for a good talking ...
Pai Shecks
|
Well, this is frustrating. There's a trap on a secret door that *won't friggin' open!* "Uhh... Thael Shivers! What can you tell us about this hidden door over here? Is this how Sevenfingers left for his 'shopping trip'? We, like, really wanna know how to follow him and all. 'Cause it sounds badass, honestly. Emphasis on the 'bad' part, but still." He's been gone for months. Well crap on a stick. The VC's gonna wanna hear about that.

Thael Speaks up "OH That thing, just knock on it seven times in quick-succession, should open right up for you"
upon doing as Thael says the wall disappears
it looks like this room used to contain more then it does now, which is a single coffer with writing on it, and inside is strangely flawless deep red gemstones about 6,000gp worth
the writing reads "Material Plane Resonant"
you know these as Leng Rubies
as I did not forget the treasure in the main bed room
The silk sheets and lines are worth 100gp if you get them properly laundered
some of the scrolls and books on Sevenfinger's desk though they are in poor condition are still rare and valuable
you know a wealth sage or collector of esoterica would pay 500gp for the entire collection
