Grim understands Halali's reasoning, and flits into the corridor to recover a tanglefoot bag from one of the unconscious guards.

Iirc avian pets can carry, but not wield, objects in their claws. I assume two move actions are sufficient to go to and pick up a tanglefoot bag, and have placed Grim's token where I think one of the gaurds is - please adjust as necessary GM.

Bilos and Dran miss everything. Then Grunigon refreshes his ‘apparently only ever a one round’ hex.

Then Kaz fires. And even without it being his best skill, he lands a blow. Probably (definitely) helped by sticky entanglement and a hex. But does he hit the foe or an image?

Real 1: 1d2 ⇒ 2

An image pops! But that leaves the main target for Ander to drill. Which he does. But it only clips the demon.

I concur with Dran. After the first level, the cost of cold iron (and even with silver blanch added to it) is such a small part of a PC's upkeep cost it should be the default ammunition for everyone, even those that don't do primarily ranged damage. Though of course weight could be an issue for some PCs.

___________________

Bilos hits! Unfortunately he hits the actual foe and not an image. His clod of dirt magically flung simply bounces off the priest.

Dran easily stabs the image and then encourages his allies to block the doorway somehow.

It also reminds the GM that doorways would not likely be all the way up to the ceiling, so his next action may be adjusted. Not by much, but we will see what it opens up for anyone.

Grunigon repeats his hexing. He feels worn out, but maybe this time it works!

And then Ander manages to drill him pretty hard. Good thing that image got popped.

Grunigon moves over to the skin and whatever else the demon shed. "Well, if the demon's body comes visible, and we show the guards the priest's.... face and robes, and the rest of this? That might help. Explain that their head priest was a demon in the high priest's body!"

"And obviously that was why we detected that he was evil!"

"The magic should wear off. Or we could try the 'bag of flour' trick. Anyone got flour? I don't think we'll find any in the kitchen here. Dust maybe. Bag o' dust. Yeah."

"What? Oh, you chuck it over the invisible thing. Might outline it. Might stick to it like Glitterdust. Dunno. First time I've faced an invisible critter as far as I remember."

"I'm just going to keep an eye on the guards we knocked out. Hopefully evil priest guy turns visible right before they wake up."

While the dwarves are talking it out for a couple minutes, the demon’s body appears.

Bloody and dead.

A hideous, pale, wormlike head pushes violently up and out of a corpulent man’s body.

The thing on the desk is the wormlike portion from the description above. Also see the image I just added to the slides.

I was worried the demon might have returned to whatever lower plane it hailed from. At least for now we have proof with both this body and the skin it used to wear. Lets search this place for more evidence and such before we alert anyone. Maybe bring the guards in here and wake them up as a first step?
