@Drukpa: The fatigue won't officially kick in until you wake up in the morning having had less than 8 hours of sleep. (of course, you're free to RP being tired and cranky until then). Regarding nonlethal damage, the amount you took from being punched by Krant "yesterday" will have already healed. The amount you took from the group beatdown today heals at your character level per hour of rest. Between whatever rest you get at the evening meal, prayer service, and in the barracks before making a move (if any), the nonlethal damage you've incurred would have healed.

I have to admit to being underwhelmed by the underpinnings of this false religion. It seems like a little more than a bad thieves guild on steroids. Quite a disappointment to evil churches everywhere. ;)

And I think it's just very realistic. As far as I know, in reality, sects act exactly in this way. Violence, sermons, violence again... Both physical and moral (humiliation, censure by fellow sect members, and so on). Then a sudden manifestation of generosity that makes you love the tormentor and creates the illusion that "everything is not in vain" (I'm still waiting for it to happen here). And so on and so on until the psyche breaks down.

Sorry for lack of posting yesterday. Swamped in the office. Prep for Easter. I will be able to post later today. In some 6 hrs or so.

![]() |

Do we have a plan as a party? I wanted to see if we could break away and see if we can speak to the Ranger. My character really has had enough as life as an acolyte. Three days of starvation and beatings just wears on the little guy and I can't think of an in-character reason why he would not run away and find another way to accomplish the mission.

![]() |

Sorry for the posting delay - hectic weekend. Catching up now.

![]() |

Friends, if anything, I'm with you and check boards several times a day. I just don't see what a character with INT -3 will also do in this situation.

![]() |

Understood. :)
My character feels the need to get Drukpa surfing during the span of this adventure. I have not figured out how or when but it is certainly on Relgar's mind. :)

![]() |

People are we making a run for it or sticking it out here? We need to make a decision before the game moves forward.

![]() |

We're staying. We have learned nothing and achieved nothing. If we escape now and then sneak in like rouges, then the previous efforts are almost meaningless. Well, we know a little about the building plan and the daily routine of the acolytes of the lower level, it can help with penetration, but that's all.

![]() |

Alright but perhaps we need to sneak around a bit more otherwise how are we going to learn anything. I have no idea if we are still on the railroad now or not so we might need to act more to uncover more of the plot. :)

![]() |

Also, I appreciate the interest in getting Drukpa on a surfboard. If only he had invested more in Dex... Or Acrobatics... Or Swimming, for that matter! :-)

![]() |

Yes, I agree with Alecto as well, though I share Relgar's uncertainty about whether or not moving the plot forward requires us to *do* something. How many days do we have remaining before we are supposed to meet our contact?

GM Jhaeman |

All I can say are two non-spoilery things:
1) For Drukpa's question, this is the evening of Day Four; you're supposed to report to your contact on Day Seven.
2) For Relgar's remark, as I explained in the recruitment post, there is no railroad here. The module gives the GM a lot of guidance on how to react to different approaches different groups may take. That doesn't mean some approaches might not be better than others, but it does mean you don't need to worry in a metagamey way about what the module "expects" you to do.
I'm really enjoying the characters and role-playing you've brought to the table here.

I am glad that I am not playing a good character especially a good divine sourced character.
This is feeling so much like deep cover going so wrong. :)

![]() |

Drukpa is Lawful Good and a member of the Silver Crusade faction. But he's not a paladin and of course he's also not too bright. Still, he's likely going to be pretty uncomfortable with outright extortion unless someone tells him that we are just "borrowing" the gold. :-)

![]() |

Not a problem. I have a plan. :)

![]() |

Sorry for the long delay in posting - end of the semester craziness - I should be able to catch up with the thread tomorrow.

![]() |

My apologies since I know I've already been a little absent from the game recently but I'm heading out of town in the morning for a two week trip. Likely will have very limited time to post at all until the end of the month so please go ahead and bot me as needed. Drukpa doesn't have too many complicated options: mostly he just gets mad and hits stuff.

![]() |

I do miss the good old days where you only got to keep what you found. The fun of needing to explore every nook and cranny to collect random treasure cannot be overstated. :)

I'll get to you later today, folks. Just super busy at the office and I wasn't able to post throughout the weekend. Sorry for the late notice.

![]() |

Sorry for the long absence - I got back from my trip a few days ago but have been busy playing catch up since then. Will catch up on everything in the gameplay thread now. Thanks for botting me.

@Anibal - I might be misunderstanding the meaning of your post but a third level Zen Archer should be able to perform three Perfect Strikes per day. It will have no impact on your actions this round but having more resources to spend is always a good thing. :)
One of my highest level characters is a Zen Archer/Inquisitor so it is a combination that I know well. :)

Heads up, everyone. This is a message for all my games.
I am leaving on Wednesday for two weeks. The place is pretty remote, so I -MIGHT- have online access, but no promises. If you don't hear from me by Friday morning, activate the bots.
I will be returning on June 30th.

Evlar is unconscious and stable. Perfect for looting except he has nothing to loot. :(

![]() |

Alright then.
So just to clarify what happened here - Relgar used an AoE cone spell on an NPC in the negatives WHILE another PC (who was quite beaten up, mind you) was attempting to bring said NPC back to consciousness with a melee touch spell.
That is my read. Or did I miss something?

![]() |

There was never any intention to include Anibal in the cone regardless of the PvP rules of society play. As I see it these characters have no ill will towards each other despite the fact that they often do not see eye to eye on many topics.
I have no intention of derailing the game here. So as a player (and with the GM's permission of course) I can retract my character's action if anyone feels sufficiently uncomfortable with it.

Hello everyone!
I'm going on a trip until July 4th. I will try to come here from the phone, but I still may not have enough time to write posts. I'm also sorry, I was obviously not active enough this week (or rather, even since last Friday) - preparing for the trip plus the start of a new business project took more time and effort in total than I expected. From July 5, I plan to enter the normal mode of an active player. Until then, bot me as you see fit.
With best wishes,
‘Eκάτη
