diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 Sigh...
"Yes, indeed, Master Zaighar. The missive came from a reliable source so nothing to worry about. Why don't we go down to the docks to check it out, and you can tell us all about the new exhibits?"

![]() |

Seshuun clearly calms down as you impress her.
"I apologize for being short with you. This job has been really maddening. I need to make a good first impression with the museum management. But all these disruptions are getting out of hand. I am grateful for any help you can provide. I hope that the museum can assist the Society as well."
"Now then, it is imperative that you make your way to the docks to see what has happened to the relics aboard the Sixwing Drake. We can talk of other matters later, but for now you must go to the docks as soon as possible. I do have some items for you, though. These may help you in your search for the relics." She hands you an everburning torch, as well as a small statuette of a black dog. The statue is about an inch high. "His name is Dusty. To summon him, you need but to place the statue on the ground and speak his name."
We'll speak more of this later. Right now, you need to head to the docks post haste to see about the relics."
Melokuhle, I'll give your hero point back as Zaighar's check was enough.

The mad man simply says: Let's go to pick up the mushrooms to the harbor. Then we need to come back to cook them here.

![]() |

Zaighar frowns behind his helmet. He looks down at Ambius--the less obviously fire-obsessed of the two goblins--and says, "Make sure the old human stays on task."
He mutters to himself with his helm, "Two goblins and a senile human. Should have brought a whip."

![]() |

Toasty! mumbles to himself about how he should complement them on having a building that looks fireproof but before he can finish fulling how to do so the social situation seems to have resolved itself, much to Toasty!'s relief.
"Docs!" he shouts, already excited to find flammable things there.

![]() |

I didn’t tell you but I never go on a mission alone. The goblin pulls out its eidolon. You see a humanoid with a spectral appearance. This is Anger my eidolon.

![]() |

Your journey from the Blakros Museum to the docks doesn’t take long. The waterfront teems with activity and the sights and sounds of one of the Inner Sea’s largest ports. Once you navigate through the crowded streets, you approach any one of the dozens of dockworkers, who wave you toward the docks where you can find Harbormaster Hansara Molnesh and the Sixwing Drake.
Hansara Molnesh is a tall, broad-shouldered Garundi woman with weathered bronze skin and graying hair. She directs a small group of dockworkers who are busy loading barrels onto a sleek, blue-sailed ship emblazoned with the name Sixwing Drake in faded paint.
"Well met! What is it you need?"

![]() |

Retcon time: You don't get the Onyx Dog. Sorry, that was meant for the high tier table I'm running. All you get is the everburning torch

![]() |

The man of Irissen speaks directly.
We are here to retrieve a shipment of mushrooms from the Sixwings drake for the Blakros museum. It’s urgent because we still have to cook them then. So where is this ship?
His swarm of gems adds: We are sent by the Pathfinder society for this task.

![]() |

The harbormaster frowns in confusion. "Someone already came by to get the shipment. At least… I think they did? They were… hmm. To be honest, I can’t remember. Come to think of it, everything that happened this morning is all… cloudy. Wait, why are the workers loading cargo on the ship?!" She turns to the crew gathered on the docks and the Sixwing Drake and shouts, "Hey, listen up! The Pathfinders are here for the shipment! Let’s get to work!"
Moments later, a dockhand on the upper deck steps rigidly toward a stack of barrels and says something inaudible over the din of the harbor. A series of massive explosions obliterates the Sixwing Drake, spewing flames and charred debris onto the docks.
Three fiery creatures emerge from the flames and attack.
"We'll handle the fire," Harbormaster Molnesh yells, "You handle those things!"

GM, Melokuhle's eidolon, Abebe, has AC 17. I've inserted a link to Abebe's profile in Melokuhle's stat lines.
Sorry, it's a big confusing which are the enemies and which are our team at first glance. Is everyone ok to change all our border colours to the same, e.g. black?
Melokuhle concentrates briefly, drawing forth primal energy from the ground and air around him, and sends it pouring into Abebe, sending both their glyphs on their forewards flaring before subsiding briefly.

Combat Over
Zaighar, you can dive into the water to put the fire out if you'd like. I'll just hand wave the checks to keep us moving.
You all handle the flaming creatures quickly enough that you are able to turn to help the dockworkers put out the fire. The Harbormaster is shell-shocked by what just happened.
"By the gods, that was terrible! The crew of the Sixwing Drake! I think they're lost. No... wait... what's going on?" she shakes her head and blinks, as if waking from a nightmare. "The crew... they seemed strange, as if I've never known them before, which is unusual because I've known Captain Zendrani for years. He's a veteran Pathfinder and would never leave his ship. Also strange that his crew suddenly just vanished into the city after leaving the ship."
She suddenly snaps her fingers. "There was this pale-skinned man. He came from the city. I think he ensorcelled me into thinking that his companions, who were all wearing dark hoods, should be allowed to take the shipment and load several barrels in its place. I remember thinking that there seemed nothing wrong with what he was suggesting," she flushes in embarrassment, knowing that it sounds foolish now.

"Mushrooms? I don't recall any mushrooms in the shipment..." Harbormaster Molnesh looks like she's just waking up from a nightmare.

![]() |

What? No mushroom in the shipment? The Blakros Museum is waiting for! That’s a disaster.
The man sits down.

![]() |

"Forget the mushrooms!" Zaighar bellows, his armor still dripping water from his hurried harbor bath. He turns his attention back to the Harbormaster. "Do you remember anything else?"
After giving the man a chance to answer, he turns to the others. "We should inform both our Venture-Captain and the curator promptly, but maybe we should canvass the dockworkers to see if they saw anything of use in tracking down these thieves."

![]() |

Harbormaster Molnesh still appears traumatized by what happened. She hands you a sack, containing some gold (30gp to be exact).
"Take this, " she says, "You can use it to go buy some healing supplies."
A young Taldan man with light skin and dirty brown hair comes forward, wiping his sooty hands on a rag. "I am Dorneliun. I heard the explosion and came to help fight the fire." He looks away, frightened, as Harbormaster Molnesh gives him a harsh look. "I-I-I'm sorry, harbormaster, I hid when the strangers came to take the shipment. They cast some "foul magic" on everyone else. I tried to speak to you at that time but you seemed, well, out of it. So I followed them to an abandoned tavern in the Puddles district. I tried to find a way in but there was no way in, so I just came back here."
"Dorneliun, can you show these Pathfinders where this tavern is? I have to make my report to the port authority." Turning to you, "You need to go to this tavern and find out who is responsible for this attack."
