Morthos Talandro

The tiefling barely acknowledges her enthusiasm but instead suspiciously looks around for more trouble. He heads further down the hallway and peers into the first door to the West, looking for danger. He holds up one hand, palm open, towards the rest of the party signaling for quiet, and then listens intently through the doorway.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Detect magic, again from new location on map.
GM Computerpro82
|
Morthos does detect magic in the room, but does not hear any sound from the door.
Keliara Irsiya
|
Keliara, lowers her arms, a bit disappointed by her performance in the battle.
"Hmm. I still need to get the hang of it."
She turns to Morthos and Keliara, smiling as if proud of her first successful encounter as a Pathfinder.
Well, this is going better so far.
Keliara responds with a wary smile. "Yes. You did good, Lidya. But please be careful, we wouldn't want you to get hurt again..."
She walks around the manor, carefully looking around and trying her best not to make noise. She peers up the spiral staircase to see if she can see or hear anything.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Tawnie Rumbuckle
|
"We did it guys! What an amazing team we make!", shouts Tawnie as the Red Armor collapses.
She then notices that her colleagues still seem tense and quiet. She decides to refrain from further comments and to follow Morthos and Keliara's example. She walks towards a door further East of the hallway, listening carefully and looking for potential clues.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
GM Computerpro82
|
As Keliara looks around the first floor she notices a loose panel. When she looks inside she finds two minor healing potions.
When you look up the stairs, you can see the hallway upstairs seems to be filled with a strange fog. You occasionally hear noises that sound like they might be muffled shouts?
The rest of the first floor appears to have been ransacked and abandoned, although you are not sure in which order.
Keliara Irsiya
|
Keliara opens her bag and pets her fox on the head gently.
"I need your help, Talim. Be careful up there, ok?"
Talim stares into her eyes for a few seconds silently, then emits a small noise before scurrying down her legs to the floor. The familiar climbs the stairs quickly and peeks shyly at the second floor.
Concentrating on her connection with Talim, Keliara projects her consciousness into him. Now seeing and hearing through his senses, she looks around the second floor.
Using the Share Senses master ability to look around the second floor from the top of the stairs.
Perception, Talim: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
GM Computerpro82
|
Talim emerges into a 20 foot by 30 foot room. This area is not as dilapidated as the first floor, but is still not new by any means. There is a 10 foot wide archway at one end that looks like it would lead to a hallway, but is filled with dense fog.
As people explore the first floor, you can see the curved stairways also lead to areas of dense fog.
Is Talim proceeding into the fog? If the party wants to explore the second floor, please place yourselves on the stairs.
Morthos Talandro
|
Morthos smiles warmly at Tawnie when she gets excited, but very quickly returns to business.
He and Lidya step up behind Keliara but await her signal.
Let us know when you think it's safe up there.
Keliara Irsiya
|
Talim hurries down the stairs and perches on Keliara's shoulder. With a shudder, the woman regains her senses. She shakes her limbs as if to shake off the magic.
"It seems safe for now. I didn't see much, the corridors seem to lead off into fog. But the main room looks empty, I think."
Tifali & Xixotli
|
Tifali follows the rest of the group to the stairwell, as Xixotli takes the lead after the familiar scouts ahead.
GM Computerpro82
|
The party is able to move up the spiral staircase without incident. This looks like it was some sort of sitting room. See new slide.
Directions are confusing here, as the map rotates 90 degrees but the scenario keeps the compass rose pointed the same way. I haven't figured out a good way to fix that in Google Slides. I went ahead and brought Zazu and Hui King upstairs
Feel free to rearrange yourselves.

Lidya Irsiya (Morthos' eidolon)'s Perception (T): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Morthos Talandro, Hui Kong, and Tifali all realize the dense fog is part of a Haunt.
What would you like to do?
Tifali & Xixotli
|
Recalling the previous haunt, Tifali jumps into recitations of sacred texts to cam the spirit.
Religion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
GM Computerpro82
|
Tifali manages to gain a better understanding of the Haunt. It seems that anyone entering the Haunt would be attacked, perhaps even stabbed in the back? It does seem like a Haunt associated with a murder.
You also know that the Haunt can be disabled with Acrobatics or Stealth checks, in addition to the Religion checks.
Haunts are strange, but that is how it is written.
| Lidya Irsiya |
This seems more like evasion than disabling, but...
Lidya gets the intense feeling of a sharp edge grazing her back in different places when the party lands on the next floor. She keeps turning around to look for the knife behind her, and when the pressure of the edge final feels like it might pierce her back she tumbles away in an attempt to leave it behind.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Zazu Darksnout
|
Zazu enters the haunt and tries to follow what Lidya did
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
"Haunt associated with a murder, where ghost stabs in the back. That sounds like a strong lead in our case"
Hui Kong
|
Hui Kong raises an eyebrow hearing Tifali's description. He appears to hang back nonchalantly, but you see him grasping his staff tightly, ready to leap in at any sign of danger.
GM Computerpro82
|
As Lidya Acrobatics her way forward, the mist dissipates, revealing a hallway lined with doors. The double doors to the Large bedroom directly across from where you stand lay broken in the hallway, revealing a sturdy looking man cowering in the corner.
He immediately regains his composure and moves forward to greet you.
I am Revinus. Thank you for dealing with that mist, although I am sure it will be back. Please escort me out of here, as this place seems to be haunted.
Tifali & Xixotli
|
Tifali raises an eyebrow. "Um...clearly. Who are you and what are you doing in a haunted manor?"
GM Computerpro82
|
As I said, I am Revinus. I came to Almas from Taldor to purchase goods to take home and sell. I rented this Manor a few days ago, only to find it Haunted! My guards and I have been taking shelter in our rooms to avoid injury, and now I insist you escort us out of here before that damnable fog returns!
Doors up and down the hallway start to open, and you see guards starting to emerge.
Please place yourselves in your current positions on the map.

He is oddly believable.
Morthos Talandro
|
Sense Motive (Perception): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 Probably not
Morthos' eyes narrow as he stares at the man dubiously.
Why didn't you just leave the manor sooner if the mist troubled you?
Zazu Darksnout
|
Perception checks to sense motive are secret for a reason ;)
"Let me guess, the haunt showed up after you stabbed that poor girl in the back? How rude of her, one can't murder someone without their spirit going after the killer..." says Zazu
He looks if his words made any reaction
I'm fishing ;)

Oddly enough, Zazu is the only one in the party that really believes in Revinus. Everybody else is convinced he is lying, based on his reactions.
Revinus stammers, We, we couldn't leave our rooms, otherwise that damnable mist attacked us. I don't know anything about a girl courier being stabbed in the back.
Keliara Irsiya
|
...and now I insist you escort us out of here before that damnable fog returns!
Shocked by the nerve of Revinus, Keliara prepares to intervene when Zazu presses the man. Much like her brother, she stays suspended in disbelief, waiting for Revinus to utter some kind of excuse, which she does not seem to believe.
"A merchant, really?" she scans Revinus from top to bottom, examining his crimson lined armor and stopping her gaze at the sword and crossbow sheathed at his waist.
"Hmm. From what we know you did leave your rooms. A woman reported coming here about her missing partner. Apparently you gave her a weird look after she showed you her portrait. Rings a bell?"
Did the woman give us Eloise's portrait? If so, Keliara will show it to Revinus
Tifali & Xixotli
|
Tifali frowns as Xixotli positions himself at the front of the group. "I'm sorry, things are just a little confusing right now. We cannot let you leave just yet, not until we figure out what happened here. So you and your soldiers just rented a spooky old manor? As far as I know this property was not up for rent. Would you like to try again, sir?"
GM Computerpro82

"You just squandered your chance of getting out of this manor in one piece!"
She assumes a combat position, this time much more assured than the first time, then plunges her gaze in the man's and focuses all of her fury into him.

"Right!? I didn't know it could be so... violent."
As Lidya downs the last guard, Keliara wipes her brow and hurries up to her, putting a hand on her spectral shoulder.
