Focusing on the pink one, Rhoreen steals another good roll inspiration from the dog-like animal.

With another devastating swing, Yambul takes the thylacine in front leaving a single guardian in front of you.

Rūha tries to knock out the cerberus, and despite the punch is solid to the jaw, the marsupial looks back only more angry at her.

Meanwhile Zzvkgrogk reloads his gun while bringing memories of the encounter with the skulks a few days ago.

Chaance does something heroic!

Angry, the thylacine bites back at the Kasatha.

Chaance does a quick headcount, as the thylacines fall, save one. She steps forward, and plinks twice at Pink, expecting to secure the room after the threats have been eliminated.

Chaance's first arrow leaves the animal groggy. The second arrow ends its life of shortage and scarcity. The last thylacite falls.

Combat is over!

Rūha: mage armor 1 h

No one is injured and there is nothing of note on the room beyond the piles of metallic debris.

Perception DC 20:

A thorough search of these piles only serves to steal your time, someone already took whatever was of minimal worth and there is only worthless scrap left.

There are four different sets of doors on the eastern wall. The central ones are from where the constant thundering sound is more audible.

A wider examination of the room reveals a collapsed corridor to the south-west, while to the north-west a different corridor slowly descends into the darkness.

Rhoreen casts Detect Magic and takes her time to look around the room in case there is something magical, rather than technical in the debris.

”Which way now?”


Human (Kellid) He/Him

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Yambul pokes around, though mostly he keeps watch - especially on the passage leading deeper in. Could be anything down there.

"Shall we check these doors first? I figure if we close 'em behind us, if there are more of these things, they shouldn't bother us."

When he's done searching, he'll move to the southern most door and, when the group is ready, opens it.

Chaance steps from the lift, and takes a position which will cover all the doors, should something burst through. She's hopeful the thundering sound prevented their arrival from being heard, catfight and all.

"Take care, Yambul. It's only a matter of time before we encounter the kenneler."

Yambul passes his hand in front of the lateral panel and the door instantly reacts opening into a long corridor that curves to the south.

The lights blink making things very uncomfortable here and forcing the Foundry cook to produce his small light orb.

At the end of the corridor is yet a similar door.

Had short time today, but enough for this small reveal!

Zzvkgrogk quaffs heightened awareness (ginger beer coffee flavor). "Yuck, wow. That's just better plain. I won't make that mistake again."

He then pinches his nose shut.

”Bah, wouldn’t bother collecting any of this. ClockFather would only burn it anyway.”

As his eyes adjust to the ioun stone he nods ”Purple hair or drone before flame or technology… I guess we have enough for now…” he says uncertainly, heading down the corridor once everyone is ready -- wishing he had actual ginger beer to wash away the taste of the extract.

”Wait, what do you mean purple hair?” Yambul asks Zzvkgrogk as he walks down the hall to the next door. ”I saw a purple haired woman a several days ago. I wonder if it was the same woman? Not a lot of folks around with purple hair.”

He’ll move to the door, falchion out, and wait to open it until everyone is ready.

"Hm. From the sounds, I'd expect more machinery from the central doors, and functioning machinery at that. Considering the shape we found everything else, I'd expect we'll find some activity there, robot or otherwise." Ruha crosses a pair of arms as she uses the others to lightly trace paths across the walls of the corridor. "It's true we haven't seen the purple haired visitor yet, Zzvkgrogk. I don't know what to make of that. Did they have a mishap somewhere we missed... or..."

She keeps an eye out for threats as she follows behind Yambul.

Rhoreen checks out the corridor, picking a few pieces of the rock and metal mixture that blocks the pass just to make sure it is no illusion. She can tell the collapse happened long time ago, perhaps centuries.

She catches up after the rest while they reach the next door discussing purple hair and open it.

This room buzzes and hums with the sound of machinery. A long track of moving leather-like material rotates along a metal framework in the middle of the room. The eastern end of this device is connected to a looming metal machine fitted with thrashing and twitching armatures and blinking lights. Panels on the wall flash with strange writing and images of metallic constructs. To the west, a second track of leather, this one smeared with blood, churns through an opening in the wall to a room beyond. The entire place has an air of entropy to it—with missing parts, flashing sparks, and periodic discordant sounds of metal scraping against metal revealing how damaged the room’s machinery is.

Three TickTocks, like the one Baine brought to the Foundry and the Technic League attempted to steal from Val, clatter and scurry about the room, looking quite busy, they seem to completely ignore you after opening the door and even stepping in. They move from the belt to the lights, attaching wires to one another and soldering broken planks with tools that seem to form part of their own bodies.

One panel on the machine in the southeast corner of the room is repeatedly flashing a single message in red letters.

DC 20 Linguistics (+5 if you know Androffan or have the Technologist feat):

Observing the output in the diverse glassed boxes, you understand the room’s purpose as a manufacturing lab.

More importantly, you understand the flashing message reads: WARNING: Robot Command Core Damaged—Reboot Required!

Reading the different controls, you understand touching this screen is all that is required to authorize the reboot.

K. engineering DC 15*

Spoiler:
A reboot would immediately cause all of the drones and collector robots in the habitat module to deactivate. After 24 hours, the robots would reactivate.

Destroying this machine (hardness 15, hp 240, break DC 36, Disable Device DC 30) while the robots are shut down would prevent the robots from wakening again.

Yambul, weapon out, eyes the robots suspiciously. "They're going to attack any moment, I just know it!"

He keeps watch while the smart folk try to figure out the technology. He stays close.

"They look busy. If they're not dangerous, we can probably leave them alone. Right Yambul?" Rūha glances at the overly enthusiastic "cook", then returns her gaze to the room. "Though the robots here are still working, the place looks to be in poor shape. And since they seem to be some kind of builders, maybe their programming isn't right." She shakes her head "I'm no mechanic, so I'm afraid its beyond me."

Seeing the alarming streak of blood on the western conveyor belt, Rūha leans down to look through the opening into the western room.

”’Functioning’, maybe – but possibly not normally. I would have expected machinery this advanced technologically to be more quiet,” Zzvkgrogk sputters, folding his ears in annoyance. His eyes widen in fascination once the door is opened.

The TickTocks ignore your cautious advance into the room, and for what Rūha and Zzvkgrogk can understand, they are actually doing a good job at fixing this area, although there is a lot of work to do, they should have begun this repair only a few days ago.

Peeking through the opening, you cannot see much of the room to the west as two half-orc dead bodies in the conveyor belt block the view!

The bodies have peculiar gang tattoos engraved in their bodies, specially calling your attention a strange one depicting what seems a mechanical talon.

Zzvkgrogk or K. geography or K. nobility DC 15:

These half-orcs are from Scrapwall and they do pertain to a minor gang there known as the Lords of Dust. You do not recognize the mechanical talon symbol though.

K. religion DC 20:

You do recognize the mechanical talon as the symbol of an obscure deity unknown to the world. Which god, you cannot tell, because it is unknown to the world.

Heal DC 20:

Despite the blood on the bodies, the injuries do not seem mortal, it seems they died from some internal organ failure. From the bristling hair some electrical shock might be involved perhaps?

The bodies have been dead for about four or five days maybe.

When it seems safe, Rhoreen will move into the room. She makes a sound like she’s just knocked over a plate of tea pastries and upset the cat. ”<*sound*>, do you think we could take back these TikToks to sell? Or might they be of more use someplace else, like taking over for Yambul’s potato peeling? Can they be trained to make soup?”

She glances at the half orcs, wondering how they got there, then wondering what they were doing here.

Chaance steps lightly, as the rest of her fellow meatbags moves through the doorway, and into the next room, full of TickTocks. The flashing light only catches her eye after both eyes leave their posts watching what might become hostile machinery.

Have my Hero Point, you foul Dicebot, unless Rhoreen's roll can be considered <cough> an Aid Another..?

Chaance reaches over to place her two pull fingers on the red screen, touching it. "Let's just see what this does..."

Having touched it, she moves along, curious as to what new atrocity the starship contains.

The elf is perhaps thankfully unaware of the more morbid aspects of the half-orcs' demise.

When Chaance touches the screen characters like a hero, the screen turns black, then it starts to fill with a list of dots.

The three TickTocks slowly go down sitting on the ground, their arms and heads going down and any light, beep and other sign of activity completely disappearing.

As time passes they seem to remain on that state.

"Nicely done Chaance! I guess knowing what to press is the hard part." he chuckles as he simply touches the screen.

Yambul will, when everyone is done, move up to the next door (SW) and give it a parting. He wonders how old the half-orcs are, and whether there's another way in...

Zzvkgrogk’s eyes go wide as things quiet down and the TickTocks sink motionless to the ground. He looks at Chaance, half accusingly and half joyously.

”You – you appear to have put them to sleep or otherwise deactivated them!”

Zzvkgrogk’s ears auto-swivel at the massacre of his name, but he is too busy with the very thought of taking a TickTock back to Torch for it to even register in the more conscious part of his brain.

Have it make food?! Ooh, that is the best idea I have ever heard!

”Calliopie, that is the best idea I have ever heard! Rūha, let's check them out!” He runs over to the sleeping TickTock and crouches down to inspect it further.

KnowEng*: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 How are the TickTocks and the Panel connected?!!! Is there a port to connect a programming card/chip … keyboard … dongle?!!! Oooooooooooohh!! Is this a hatch?!!

In his excitement, he loses track of which end is what.

"Scrapwall? Ah, that Scrapwall. Another location with technology, right Zzvkgrogk?" Rūha observes the two dead half-orc with a sigh "These two have been dead for a few days now. What brought a group from outside Torch here? And why now? How did they know about this place if the town itself only learned about it recently...?" She trails off as she inspects the wounds more carefully "It looks like they died from electrocution. I wonder if there's some exposed wiring or something in there."

When the repair bots deactivate, Rūha crosses a pair of arms. "I wonder if that was wise. Considering the state of this place, it could use some repair. Who knows what kind of things it might be leaking." Her concern is overwhelmed by Zzvkgrogk's enthusiasm and she heads over to the robots to see whether there's some way easy interface for teaching them new things. She's not optimistic that she'd be able to spot it even if there was one.

He's a bit more cautious as he opens the door, falchion out and ready.

Zzvkgrogk is convinced he can intercept the reboot signal and put the TickTocks to peel potatoes, he just needs to wait for the reboot signal to end so they move again, but he does not have any idea when that might end, if the reboot process is not damaged and halted forever.

Rūha is equally optimist on her assessment, if present during the reboot, they will introduce new orders on the robots.

While you finish studying them, Yambul passes his hand next to the southwest door panel and the door effectively opens without electrocuting himself.

D7. Fabrication Lab
An immense machine looms to the south in this room, its upper portion obscured by tangles of hanging cables and cords. The device looks something like an enormous oven, its front open with a rotating belt of green leathery material connecting to a wide metal table. Metal desks with flashing lights sit to the east, while a second rotating belt of leather moves through an opening in the east wall. The two dead orcs lie over this second belt blocking the opening in the wall.

The bodies seem to be orcs rather than half-orcs on a closer sighting. Correction

K. engineering DC 15*:

This workroom provided the necessary facilities for building and fabricating virtually any piece of simple equipment required by the crew Basically a 3D printer I guess. It saw frequent use on worlds where they needed to replicate or modify the less advanced technology or tools employed by the aliens they took on board the habitat. Unfortunately, like the robotics lab to the east, the crash has damaged this chamber beyond repair.

In the middle of the room, there is a looming suit of armor made of burnished brass. So the rule here is a little weird. If I get sneak damage (assuming it’s flat footed - if not ignore the +1 and +1d6 on damage), I’m also able to study the creature I hit as an immediate action and get studied damage. So if it’s susceptible to precision damage, and I hit, the extra damage applies and he’s considered ‘studied’.

With a strong jinx, Rhoreen makes the robot circuitry to make bad decisions all through the next seconds.

As Zzvkgrogk shots the wide-barreled pistol, a flare drifts forward in spirals until it hits the robot on its glass eye. It bursts with an intense light that menaces to leave you all dazzled!

Correction: The dazzled is only 20' area, so only the robot was initially affected, sorry!

Rūha ducks below the robot's reach, but blinded as it is, it's sensors do not even realize of the approach. With a quick punch, she puts the robot on a good spot for Yambul.

Zzvkgrogk changes guns and tries another shot but the pistol overloads all the battery's energy and tickles before completely fudging the shot.

The flare cartridge continues burning, but the hull hardness seems to protect the robot from the fire.

Without looking up from reloading he barks in response to her, ”Wwhaaat!?!!

As the gearsman's sensors adjust to the flare, the construct changes its focus to the largest menace, the man swinging the big blade just in front.
