By the way, I don't think we ever decided who is going to take the Backfire Mantle (gives resistance 3 to my splash dmg). My suggestion is for a front-liner who doesn't already have innate energy resistance. Any takers?

I am good with the path (E).

GM - I marked a minor healing potion from my character sheet. I had 3, now down to 2. That is not counting the one we got during preparation. I have that marked in another spot on my character sheet.

GM - I am down 1 HP from total. I updated my stat block to show it. :D

The Will Saves won't take effect until the enemies move, but it will help speed the combat up.

Can you clarify if you just botted my saves or my whole action? I'm good either way I just don't want to hold anything up or make a post based on the current situation if the creatures moved and acted after my turn.

I botted the saves and your action to draw your weapons and then ready an action to strike the first one in range. Feel free to retcon if you would have done something different.

I was NOT expecting these monsters based on the 'statue' description.

They remind me of Chet from Weird Science! :D

Yeah, reading this room in the scenario made me chuckle. The statues make a guest appearance only to die immediately and get replaced with .... ewwww.

Alas, per Sickened, no elixirs or potions until the condition is removed. So no healing for Evindal from Leptusbot, much as I appreciate the effort.

Unfortunately it won't help at all. Backfire Mantle only gives resistance to splash dmg from your own, or your allies' alchemical items, i.e. bombs.

I think we just need to press our attacks and get this over as quickly as possible. Come to my aid if I fall again! :D

We are close, I feel. Their attacks are as bad or worse than their exploding damage. We at least get a save against them!

Yep, hoping you guys take them both down this round, and Rhaegal can just pick you back up if the explosion takes you too.

The absence of our additional fighter is certainly showing here. Wish we could have that extra firepower.

I'm always amazed by teams' progress. I'll set an encounter and wonder if Paizo overtuned it, only for the team to come out ahead.

I haven't heard from Leptus in a while- I'll exclude him until he posts again. You would have had an easier encounter with just the 5 of you.

2E is a very different system. It totally requires a level of teamwork that previous editions didn't, IMHO.

Lots of damage, which will consume resources and time.

- C. Pools of magic were found at the end of this path. I need you to secure them from any threats so we may analyze their nature.
- D. There is an ancient library down this road. We need to know its contents.

I like the library. No mention of monsters! :D I could use a skill challenge over another fight.

Just want to take a moment to assess damage/HP and heal up before we go.

I have 2 Minor Healing Potions (1d8), 1 Lesser Healing Potion (2d8+5). I can also use Medicine to Treat Wounds on anyone. If it has been an hour since our last fight against the fire monsters, I can use it on myself. Can't recall if I used Battle Medicine on Ulfgar or not. I can treat one person with Medicine and 1 with Battle Medicine if we need it.

I am currently at 19 HP. I updated my Stats block for now.

GM - can we swipe Leptus' potion before he leaves? :D

Not sure what other healing we have. Would prefer to save actual spells and scrolls of healing for combat.

A seems definitely like a combat. We're actually fairly well healed now. We could try to hit it now, or we hope C is not combat heavy so we can heal even more before we do A. But C might equally be combat-heavy.

Evindal asks Rhaegal if he wouldn't mind taking a look at this scratch as well. Evindal is currently down 16 hp from the last fight.

I'm happy to do this is we can spare another 10 minutes. However, I think for the sake of the timed run, GM has to be kinda strict on how much time is allotted between the sections. GM, let me know if we can take another 10 minutes before our next section.

If not, then Evindal, you might want to use an elixir.

These encounters all take place on the same day, and the PCs can take time to Treat Wounds, Refocus, or Repair equipment in between encounters.

Sounds like you would have time to Treat Wounds multiple times.

I am going to elect to be quiet in this encounter. I have zero CHA-based skills. I do not speak Draconic.

I am more likely to fail or critically fail than to offer a success.

Wasn't sure if Ulfgar was healed 100% previous to my last Treat Wounds or after. That is where my confusion lies.

No worries though. We have another chance to heal. Most everyone is mostly healed. I fixed up Reylar in the game post now. :D

Not sure @GM if I can use Twin Takedown on a reaction.

My rolls were horrible this round, but it may come up again! :D I would love to know your thoughts on the maneuver.

So I'd say you can't use Twin Takedown as your reaction. It doesn't affect this round since your second attack missed anyway.

I also noticed that it says I can make a Strike. A strike has the 'attack' keyword. Interestingly enough, Twin Takedown is a flourish and does not have the 'attack' keyword.

Always good to learn more about what I can do! :D

@GM, can you post a recap for us sometime tomorrow to help summarize what we discovered?

Happy to roll out the Medicine checks if you want, GM, or if there's not adequate time for Rhaegal to several medicine checks. With Continual Recovery, he can heal anyone every 10 minutes. Otherwise, it seems easy to just handwave it.

There's enough downtime you should be able to heal everyone to full.
