Moving onto the space of the soldier that I hope Gheorix just killed, if he didn't, I'll have to move to the other side of the guy that hit me, so still next to the wall.

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

Note that you only had short spears from the guards and none of your original weapons were in lock up. Sigrid's damage has still been sufficient to drop these fellows but she should be rolling a d6.

Sigrid, perhaps possessed by the erinyes she claimed she was pretending to summon, runs another man through sending him to the floor. Then the soldiers advance through the doors to try and start killing. Pytheas' strike skips off a shield but Agripos manages to draw blood. Dimas smashes a ham sized fist into the head of the soldier before him bruising the man's face and breaking the beak off his helmet. (dmg 7)

On the north end of the hall. Gheorix advances on the nearest soldier and cuts him down. Then Alejandro gives a defensive jab as he tumbles to relative safety with his friends. Leir again attacks but is rebuffed.

We'll just say the northern soldiers were in shock though some moved a little.

Pytheas sucks air in between his tongue and his clenched teeth, clicking in frustration as he is once again turned aside. The skald's song down the hall makes his heart beat faster, but he recognizes that heeds to give his god some role in this fight.

"Hermes I call, whom Fate decrees to dwell
In the dire path which leads to deepest hell
O Bacchic Hermes, progeny divine
Of Dionysius, parent of the vine,
Dire weapon of the tongue, which men revere,
Be present, Hermes, and thy suppliant hear;
Assist my works, conclude my life with peace,
Give graceful speech, and my memory's increase."

There is a moment in the chaos of battle where one can just hear the flutter and flap of wings, and as Pytheas holds the spear close to his chest and draws a spiral as though a snake coiling up the staff, there is a soft glow of light as Hermes shows his favor.

Casting Divine Favor.

Agripos has been trained to fight side-to-side with other men, forming an impenetrable wall of spears. But as a strange group of men start doing battle against the enemy in the rear, it's clear to Agripos that it was time to take the fight to the enemy.

Agripos' and Sigrid's attacks skip off the soldier's shields as does Christoff's. Dimas however, moves up and slams a fist into the front of one's helmet and sends the man sprawling to the deck. The others in the brig rush out to help as they can. Then the soldiers begin to attack. The officer moves toward Sigrid and strikes but she dodges. In the clash at the line Agripos takes a nasty jab (6 dmg). Meanwhile the sergeant moves up on the soldiers' left flank and downs one of escapees.

To the north, Leir gets flanked but manages to fight off their attacks. Two soldiers move directly upon Gheorix and Alejandro but they fail to land a blow. The Sergeant moves to flank Alejandro but fails to get in a good strike.

Pytheas stabs the head of his spear into the gut of the sergeant. The grizzled soldier nearly buckles but keeps his feet, grins, and spits blood at Pytheas. This time, Christoff works his spear around a soldier's shield and takes the man in the throat sending him to the ground. Dimas again smashes another soldier in the head but this time the man keeps his feet. The sailor to Pytheas' flank attempts to move around the sergeant and to punch him. Pytheas strikes the nearest soldier followed by Agripos and the man finally drops. Sigrid gets in another good shot but the Captain avoids the worse of it. Then Christoff slips in from the side and stabs the Captain deep causing him to stumble and bring the look of fear upon his face. Christoff for his part smiles at Sigrid. Dimas, Leir, and Bowman all attack but either miss outright or find their blows warded off by armor and shield. The other prisoners begin to surround the remaining soldiers on the south side of the hall.

"Keep it up and we'll free ourselves from these unjust tyrants!"

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

Alejandro gives a sergeant a nasty wound. Meanwhile, Agripos and Pytheas drop two more. The captain realizing the fight is lost calls out, "We give up if you will accept our surrender!" Though most of the men belong to Christoff, he looks to Agripos who started the prison break in the first place.

Sigrid:
We shall see.

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

Speech is a free action so you may do so at any time. Christoff is up so he is basically looking to the jailbreak boss to see if he should run the Captain through or not.

Christoff's men look to him and he in turn makes a quick glance at Agripos. Sigrid for her part, slicked with blood and breathing hard from the combat, appears ready to do them all in.

Agripos returns a glance to Christoff, surprised that Christoff is deferring to him. He quickly assumes leadership of the situation.

"Yield, drop your weapons, and you shall live," declares Agripos, as the enemy captain offers their surrender. He looks quickly between his allies and enemies to see if they would keep to the agreement. He was most concerned about the northern front of this battle--there the guards were outnumbering the Atlanteans by a fair bit.

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

The Marolingian Captain calls out to his troops and the step back from their assault and drop their weapons. You are able to take them all captive just as the two stunned by the color spray manage to rise. This leaves you with 9 captives. Christoff looks to Dimas, "Dimas, strip 'em down and put our new friends in the brig." Then Christoff moves over to Agripos, "Sir, you got us out of the brig so for that it is your show til we reach me ship. Then it be my rules." he says as he smiles and winks at you.

Dimas does as his Captain orders. With the help of the other prisoners you soon have the 9 stripped down giving you 9 suits of armor (equivalent to lamellar horn), 9 short spears, 1 odd looking pistol, 8 crossbows, and 9 daggers. All weapons are lacquered wood to include spear heads except the pistol. It is the size of a flintlock pistol but with side by side barrels. It is slightly warm to the touch and though rigid, the outside is like that of tough hide.

(Quill pistol Dmg 1d6, crit 19-20 x2, range 40', Piercing weapon, ROF equal to shooter, 12 charges per day, due to spread of quills launched you may reroll misses within the first range increment)
