You could also look for Pathfinder compatible AP's from 3rd-party publishers, or converted D&D campaigns. Paizo's signature 15-level adventure path is not something D&D has ever really emphasized (and for a few years now even Paizo has gotten away from those), but there are some out there.

There's a pointer in THIS THREAD to a PF1E conversion of Age of Ashes.

We just wrapped up the special, so I should have more time going forward. I'll be traveling again this coming weekend, though.
| DM Carbide |
All, per the Paizo blog the boards are going down at 8PM GMT (or noon PST) on Monday 11/3, expected to be dark for 1-2 days while they put up the new store.
Viridian Torr
|
I logged onto my PC to update the map for Viridian and Blitz but I could not see the next door in the Minotaur room. Do we backtrack or is it behind the red circle (that seems to point back to the stairs?) Or go back to the green star in the center of the map (assuming to the blacked off area)?
Mrs. Book
|
I think the door is at the green star and we will need to mess with levers to get there.
| DM Carbide |
There's a red lever in the room where you fought the clockwork servants, and that's all you'll need to turn the red cylinder to open the path to the starred doors.
| DM Carbide |
Busy weekend and although I took today off I spent it on domestic stuff. I should be able to move things along tomorrow.
| DM Carbide |
I've got one more day of work before we close until January 5th, and have also been dealing with holiday prep. I'll try to get a post up before Christmas, but we'll see--I also still need actions from Meresiel and Viridian. In any case, I hope you all have wonderful holidays!
| DM Carbide |
This is his last round of nausea. Blitz can still attack, though.
Lybram Tendras
|
I have 17 prestige points. I think 16pp will get the raise dead. Not sure how to cover the two negative levels. I need 1000gp worth diamond dust plus the spell casting of 280gp. So, I need two of these for a total of 2560gp and they must be cast a week apart? How does all that work with the PFS rules?
Anyway, once there is time to reflect on the events and what to do with Lybram, the party will find in a metal locket necklace around his neck with a note inside with instructions to call in favors from the grand lodge to get Lybram raised. Items to sell for additional cash if the need arises are:
MWK Battle Axe
barkskin potion
scroll of delay poison
scroll of lessor restoration.
Funds are as follows: 8538 starting gold - 6159 gp (bought so far this scenario) leaves 2379 gp. Selling the Mwk battle axe (155g) and the scroll of delay poison (75g) will give a total available of 2609 gp.
After the cost of the 2 spells (2560 g), Lybram will have 49 gp for travel money.
Mrs. Book
|
When it comes to paying, we can all pitch in on a raise dead or restoration spell. I don't know if we can contribute prestige points, but I am fairly sure we can contribute cash.
| DM Carbide |
Unless Iladora has a plan, I strongly recommend that she & Blitz follow Mrs. Book. They both have move actions left after Iladora heals Blitz and Blitz stands up from prone.
| DM Carbide |
Since it will probably become important in the next round or two, changing a lever's position is a swift action. (The module doesn't specify, and I figure it's quicker than opening a door but not as fast as dropping an item.)
| DM Carbide |
Also in case it becomes important, walking back up to the surface from here will take at least half an hour.
Mrs. Book
|
I plan to try to close the way into our area when I hear/see him passing through. If it works it will buy us more time. If someone could heal folks while that is being done, that would be great. I think if we stall him long enough to restore some of our HPs we should have a good chance at defeating him.
Mrs. Book
|
Mrs. Book has a Wand of CLW she can lend you.
Mrs. Book
|
Good thought, Mrs. Book! As a reminder, the lever has three positions: up (+), neutral, and down (-). It's currently in the up position. When in the down position, it rotates 90° counterclockwise from where it is now, so the passage joins the two minus signs on the map. When in the neutral position, it rotates 90° clockwise from where it is now. Short version: you can't trap him in the cylinder, but once he's in it you can cut him off from where you are by setting the lever to the neutral position.
Yea, I knew that whatever position she puts it in, there is an exit route. I just want it to NOT be towards the PCs. So either he runs back and flips the lever again, and then tries to get through the same corner again, hoping Mrs. Book is not there to flip the switch again, or he takes a different route which is long. Either way he wastes a lot of time and we get to recharge some HPs.

Iladora is permanently blind, so I can't do a whole heck of a lot until we can find a way back to town. I can use my wand on those who need urgent healing, but that's pretty much it.
I think the risk of trying to return back is that he will follow us and get to set the stage for the fight. He is going to be low on spells and such, just as we are, and we beat him up pretty good, though he probably has some potions to heal himself up. If anyone has some healing potions or wands, we need to use them now. Mrs. Book has her Wand of CLW (currently on loan since she has to make a UMD to get it to work), and 2 Potions of CLW. She is completely out of spells but does have some acid flasks to fight with. That's it. Pretty close to useless in a fight, which is why she is manning the lever.
With Iladora blind, Lybrim dead, and Mrs. Book next to useless, maybe we should retreat.
Thoughts?
| DM Carbide |
Remember that when they were affected by the fear spell Corbrae, Merisiel, and Viridian dropped whatever they were holding. So Viridian's CLW wand, Corbrae's curve blade, and presumably Merisiel's rapier are still in the room with the homicidal evil wizard.
Mrs. Book, you still have a wand of magic missile, right?
Last point, because I know it's been a while in real-time since you were there: remember that nice bedroom you found early in your exploration of the level? Look at what you found there.
Mrs. Book
|
Yea, I forgot about that wand. So she is not entirely useless, just mostly so.
| DM Carbide |
Zapping Klarkosh when he starts to cast a spell gives you a chance of disrupting it.

If you mean these items, I don't think we were ever told what they were. If it was before that, Iladora wasn't here so she wouldn't know about it anyway.
Mrs. Book
|
I agree. I tried identifying them in this post but I do not think we ever got results and we forgot about them.
| DM Carbide |
I'd missed that! Thanks for reminding me.
The potion is a potion of invisibility, and the star is a western star ioun stone.

I hate to say it but if we rest I don’t think our chances are any better facing the caster again than facing him now. Not saying our chances are good either way…and I am fine either path. I’d defer to the blind and dead characters…
The stinking cloud and the automaton are the killers here. We wait and we will get hit by both. On the other hand if we wait we can raise the dead and get our spells back. Mrs. Book is down to her wand of magic missile. Other than that she has utilitarian scrolls and a couple of relatively useless scrolls of protection from evil. So I could go either way.
| DM Carbide |
The automaton is down, so unless Klarkosh can create another one in a day you shouldn't have to worry about it.
Iladora Unfallen
|
I think we should keep going and try to take down Klarkosh, then rest. We're low on resources but so is he. Since I'm the only one who can't see, you all can still point me to the right square every round (the miss chance will suck though).
Mrs. Book
|

Really?! I just assumed he could fix it in a day, or at least make it operational.
| DM Carbide |
A construct that has been completely destroyed cannot be repaired, though at the GM’s option some of the materials may be usable in the construction of a new construct.
Complete destruction appears to mean reduced to 0 HP. It's probably a Knowledge (Arcana) check to know that, though.
Mrs. Book
|
cool. I think I will try the roll in gameplay.

Nope, at least not unless he's got something special he can do. A construct reduced to 0 HP is considered totally destroyed (like an undead) and has to be remade from scratch.
It's one of the reasons bringing one into combat as a PC is generally not a great idea.
Mrs. Book

We seem pretty split concerning leaving or staying. Let's vote
I vote for leaving, removing conditions, and returning.
| DM Carbide |
OK, sounds reasonable. Because it might become important, how do you propose to leave? (Remember, incidentally, that getting Lybram raised will take several days.)
Mrs. Book
|
Go to the spire, use a transport token, and continue up from the first level, ready for a fight along the way. Also clumping up in any of the switched areas so that he cannot separate us.
Viridian Torr
|
Viridian is fine with either. Not just because he is a neutral Druid but because it is probably a wash. If we did not have a dead PC I would definitely push to finish mage now rather than returning. Blindness going to suck, but can be partially mitigated. Missing an entire PC is tough.
So abstain from vote and agree with majority.
Iladora Unfallen

So once Lybram is brought back, it looks like all we need to fix me is a scroll of remove blindness/deafness for 375 gp. Iladora has that in her inventory so no problems there.
