Jaxon:
You know these are amoeba swarms, extremely slow moving entities that can act and react as a single entity but are actually made of hundreds of small amoebas. They are mildly acidic and can burn organic matter just by crawling over it.

Francine tries to dance at the creatures, but they seem completely uninterested. They are mindless She also follows Jaxon’s lead getting her own torch prepared.

Qigiq also tries to find out what these things are before bolstering Alaric and moving back.

Qigiq:
You know these are amoeba swarms, extremely slow moving entities that can act and react as a single entity but are actually made of hundreds of small amoebas. Given that they are actually small parts, slashing and piercing weapons are rather ineffective against them, but area or splashing effects are very effective. The weak walls of these organisms also burn rather well.

Alaric moves away from the fight, as he sets up his aura of flames and fire.

Jaxon readies an attack with his torch in case the swarms reach him in the next little bit.

Francine dances closer, slams her torch down on the largest gathering of the swarm she can find and feels quite a few of them burn under her torch. Critical hit and you found a weakness.

Kondai hits the white swarm with a blast right in the middle of them, and the rest of the swarms can't avoid the worst of the lightening that rains down on them as well. The sparking area of electricity seems pretty effective.

Crit hit on white, all others failed their saves, and you found a weakness.

Alaric repositions and readies his shield.

Qigiq fires a sling into the mass of the closest swarm and hits a few smooshing them under the sling bullet. Hit, not resisted.

However the swarms still keep their almost glacial pace as they only reach up to the feet of Kondai and fail to engulf him or anyone else.

Kondai slams a plasma covered fist into the first swarm and deals a significant amount of damage to the swarm but a few of the amoebas are still swarming about.

Jaxon, however, is able to slam a torch into the mess and kill them outright.

Qigiq fires a sling into the next swarm smooshing some amoebas as he does.

Francine tries to dance closer and then back but can’t reach in one movement. She has to stride twice, but her torch burns the swarm nicely.
The swarm is more than 25’ away. You couldn’t hit and run. However...

Alaric fires a bolt of flame into the next swarm after black and burns more than a few, but his aura doesn’t reach that far.

Samna also has troubles reaching now that the first swarm is gone. She strides forwards twice and slams a few punches that with Francine, kills the swarm. Same problem as Francine, too far to make it in one stride. But you both did enough to kill.

The swarms then move forward. The closest one can only get into the spaces of the two ladies, but can't do anything beyond getting closer. The other follows up as well.

Francine tries to hit the swarm twice but the squiggling and crawling forms on the ground unnerve her enough that she swings wide both times. A hasty retreat means she won’T get caught by them any time soon.

Alarci burns the swarm with a small ball of fire as he gets close enough for the flames to ignite his powdery aura.

JAxon moves up as well slamming his torch into the swarm twice and leaving most of the smaller creatures badly burned or killed.

Jaxon, Kondai and Alaric all strike the swarm and burns every single one of the amoebas to a crisp.

The hallway otherwise seems clear and empty. Moving along there’s the sounds of charred amoebas breaking under foot but otherwise the place seems empty. The room that the amoebas seem to have set up as their home contains a few mostly decayed bones of creatures that were unlucky to get caught down here.

The hallways beyond them don’t seem to hold much, and it seems the swarms mostly left them alone. After a bit there’s one big room. The floors and walls of this room have been white washed into a pure glistening white even after all of this time. Off to the left is a room that seems made to look in on this new room.

It takes a moment but Kondai immediately recognizes that the are a series of holes in the tops and bottoms of the ceiling and that one of the far holes seems to be dripping a liquid. He also spots among the glistening whites of the room that there are a few bones fo things that ran from the swarms and have been cleaned so thoroughly that their bones are dazzling white.

You found a hazard. Moving into the room will trigger it.

"Something . . . cleaned those creatures to death." Kondai says, pointing out the bones in the room. "It seems likely that whatever ran from those aomebas ran in here and . . . that happened. We should probably figure out how to turn off the magic or bypass it. Maybe send some archaeologist down here who knows more about this kind of thing."

arcana check?: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 while not moving into the room to identify the hazard and how to turn it off.

Kondai doesn't think this place is magical in origin, while Francine can't see anything beyond a gleaming white. Crafting would be the best way to tell what this is with out triggering it

"Let us see how intelligently this trap was crafted," Qigiq heads back to the amoebas' lair and collects a pair of skulls. He walks to the threshold of the white room and tosses one of the skulls into the room. "And if there is a delay between activations."

The animal skull clatter into the room but nothing happens. Standing that close Qigiq does spot a control panel below what looks like a nearly completely faded mural of a smiling man with a receding hairline. It might control the hazard... but that would meaning entering into a known danger.

Samna pulls out a few tools from behind her belt and attempts to disarm the hazard without setting it off.

Hrmm, know what I'll take that.

Samna is able to disable the large pressure plate right at the front of the entry way that seems weighted to react to a creature's full weight and not just the light skull that Qigiq sent in. She feels that she has gotten this part of the hazard disabled but there's not assurance that there aren't more plates in here, but she can safely say that the first few feet are safe.

That's one success to disabling the trap, and I'll say the first 10 feet of the room are okay to traverse. Any further attempts to disable can be done with Thievery (trained) Engineering Lore (or alchemical/similar lores trained) to disable or clog the hazard. Athletics or Acrobatics to plug holes also work to disable the hazard. Beware, thought, a crit failure will set this thing off.
