Igaraise, burdened by an aging body and even more so by the bulky armor he's not really strong enough to cary properly, decides to not help actively pull Loka out of the quicksand and instead looks for a nice healthy tree to lash the other end of Dengar's rope around making it less likely that anyone else gets pulled in.
Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

"Oh no... You hold on to that rope, folks." Ysoldt sprints towards the place where Lokaloka was last seen, makes a running jump. She takes a deep breath, and simply dives into the quicksand to pull the goblin out.
Athletics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
I would like to search for Lokaloka in the quicksand with my free hand while attempting to coil the rope around my other hand. Not sure whether roll anything, etc.

Game Master Tea |

Ysoldt dives in and easily finds the submerged goblin. Both adventurers have hold of the rope and both can now try to escape the quicksand!
Ysoldt has ◆ remaining
Lokaloka is up
You can now make Athletics checks (at a lower DC due to the rope). You will need 3 successful attempts to get out.
Rules for when you are under the surface and suffocating
Anyone else can pull on the rope and make their own Athletics check when it is their turn!

![]() |

I've got enough air for 6 rounds. I'm assuming 6 since I only went under last round. So do I make a check or Ysoldt does? (or both of us do?)

![]() |

Lokaloka strokes for the surface.
Athletics(U): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Lokaloka's head (hopefully) breaks the surface and she sucks in a lungful of air.
Athletics(U): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Athletics(U), Hero Point: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
She begins to float to the surface.
Athletics(U): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

Lokaloka lies on the swampy ground, breathing heavily and happy to be out of the quicksand. She brushes the mud off and stands up. "Where Ysoldt?"
Finding that her flute disappeared, she conjures another to continue playing once her party is safe.

![]() |

Once Ysoldt is in the quicksand, she quickly tries to find Lokaloka by touch. She lets the bard use her as a ladder to climb out using the rope she coiled around her hand earlier.
3 rolls are requested
Athletics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Athletics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Athletics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Not sure regarding that success rate of those.

Game Master Tea |

Ysoldt struggles to change direction and try to make her way out of the quicksand, but after getting plenty of it up her nose, she manages to get her head above the surface.
You were already under, so the fail then crit fail did nothing and your final roll was a success.
It's up to the rest of the party to pull her out before the swamp gets another go and sucks her back under!!

![]() |

Igaraise, completely unable to move properly in their armor, decides to take the rope and start winding it around a nearby tree and use it to anchor and leverage to the pulling process.
Survival to find a good tree?: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

![]() |

Lokaloka rushes over the Igaraise's side and will help begin pulling with all her strength.
"Ysoldt!" she screams, "You'se hangs on!!"

Game Master Tea |

I'll go with some good innovative thinking by Igaraise as adding a success.
Using a sufficiently sturdy and sensibly placed tree, Igaraise helps Ysoldt get herself out as far as her waist...
Looking around, Thalaasi notices that the swamp muffles noise quite heavily. The atmosphere is damp and heavy with rot.

Game Master Tea |

....and with a mighty pull, Dengar yanks Ysoldt from the swamp with a loud sucking sound.
Lokaloka and Ysoldt, whilst wet and slimy, are none the worse for wear and Ygaraise has found the edges of the danger.
The Blackwood Swamp returns to a subdued hum of wildlife.
You continue your journey northwards.
Feel free to chat as your journey continues.

Ysoldt's head surfaces from the quicksand, and takes a breath to prepare for another submerging. When Loka tells her to hang on, she gives the goblin a look that could kill. "What the hell do you think I am doing, you- OW!!" she exclaims as Dengar yanks at the rope and nearly dislocates her shoulder. She tightens her arms in response and promptly follows the rope outside of the sand pit.
Once outside, she just lays there, looking at the trees from below. She closes her eyes
"Stings like hell. But thank you...", she remove the coiled rope from her arm, revealing red threads beneath. "I'm fine. I think?"
She stands up, and looks at Lokaloka. "How about you?"

Igaraise scurries over to Loka and Ysoldt and starts to test the muck and slime on the two. "OHH, yes, yes! This is good muck! Almost as good as sewer muck! Make great healing salve!" He tries to scrape as much as he can off the two, putting it into clay pots and containers before sealing them up. He then raises a hand and draws a small sigil in the air causing a small spout of water to appear, it looks painful to stand in, but the splash outside of the mainstream could possibly wash someone off... slowly that is.
I don't have Create Water (I know why they made it a spell, it was a problematic cantrip in PF1 but still the ability to wash someone clean was useful) but I do have Spout.

Lokaloka walks over to Ysoldt. "I's fine, " she says, "Thank you for saving my life." She pulls out her pickle jar, roots around in it for a few minutes and pulls out a radish that appears to have been soaking in brine for months. She hands the pickle to Ysoldt. "Pickle?"

The Iriseni looks at Lokaloka. "Eh - maybe when I'm done getting rid of the sand in my teeth, but thanks."
She pulls out her waterskin and proceeds to flush her mouth and slap her clothing aroung to remove the rest of the sand.

You continue your journey to the north, Igaraise picking out the trail of a fungus leshy.
Exploration activities please.
You are now towards the end of your first day travelling. It has been slow going with tricky terrain and a difficult trail.
You come to the area depicted on the new slide from the bottom edge
The green areas of the map are bogs and count as difficult terrain for Medium creatures, while any creature with a size of Small or smaller must Swim in them. The downed tree prevents easy movement, although you may be able to lift/shove it out of the way.
Please put your icons on the map

Lokaloka conjures a set of pan pipes and begins playing. The magic infused in her music brings a sense of courage to the rest of the party. Exploration: Repeat a Spell, Inspire Courage

Game Master Tea |

I have placed the remaining tokens on the map (Dengar and Thalaasi).
The tree blocks your route. You pause for a moment.
Please roll initiative!

An decaying humanoid disturbs the surface of the swamp very close to the party.
Ysoldt is up!

"Oh look. A head ... and a torso ...", Ysoldt points at the creature that is appearing. She instinctively reaches for her blade. When she looks back up, her jaw drops a little. "Well, they seem friendly! I suggest a preemptive strike."
She runs toward the creature before it is out of the swamp to slash it.
Dagger: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 191d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Actions:
1 - Draw dagger
1 - Stride 25 ft
1 - Strike

Game Master Tea |

As the creature emerges, you see it probably started out human but now has elongated arms, teeth, and bone-like spikes protruding from the upper back.
Ysoldt's dagger slashes into the creature before it can react, causing pustules to explode on it's skin.
Poison damage, Ysoldt, basic reflex save please: 1d4 ⇒ 3
As it comes out of the swamp (◆ Step), it attempts to bite into Ysoldt with a distended and elongated jaw.
◆ Jaws: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 191d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Latching on it attempts to swallow as much of her blood and flesh as possible!
◆ Feast: 1d4 ⇒ 4
7 piercing and 4 slashing damage to Ysoldt +3 possible poison!

Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Tell me the damage, doc.

![]() |

Don't forget my exploration activity is repeat a spell (Inspire Courage). +1 to all attack/damage/save vs fear rolls)
Lokaloka plays a tune on her pipes, hoping to keep the melody fresh in people's minds. She happens to notice Igaraise's tail moving in time to the music.
Performance, Lingering Composition: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
She then casts a spell, where she sends verbal abuse at the creature that just bit Ysoldt.
Spell Attack Roll, IC: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 1 = 10
◆ Lingering Composition (fail)
◆◆ Cast Biting Words

Seeing another foe a distance away, the elf pulls back his knocked arrow and lets it fly, with a little bit of acidic magic enhancement at the undead creature in the distance, as he goes into starlight span formation
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 longbow
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 acid damage
1d8 ⇒ 1 piercing from arrow
I hope I did that correctly
If he has another action, he will reload

![]() |

Reloading a short/long bow takes 0 actions (vs a crossbow or sling that takes 1 action). So once you shoot, it's assumed you can grab another arrow and shoot with 1 action
