This is where the Edgewatch is, yeah? Anyone got some clean water? My head is killing me...

Welcome Felix to my game, glad to have you.
I am still by my own admission a rookie GM when it comes to Pathfinder 2e but feel like with soo much experience and the drive to do so I should make it out OK.
Beyond that I will explain a few necessities for the game that we will be having as it goes. For now, think of a 3 digit number such as "O23" or "257". That will be your badge number.
You wont be getting loot in the normal way as being both officers and detectives you will be getting getting a salary proper. Items that an NPC might have had will be available from the station quarter master unless otherwise stated otherwise.
Nonlethal by default. Regardless of martial or arcane ability, you don't receive a penalty for it. If a player does do lethal you must let me know in the post.

Weird, I was going to pick X69. (is joke in case unclear)
Should badges even have letters in them? Should we adopt a significance or code to the badge letter if everyone will have a letter in theirs? Could be precinct/department of origin or classification of officer abilities. Perhaps the "X" designation is for casters. Or it could be X for "Auxilliary" for officers with unusual abilities. Just an idea.
And hello everybody! Thanks for having me GM Catto! We're just waiting on one more right? Decision was made a littler earlier than expected, which is awesome for me. I guess Mr. Catto will be closing recruitment a little early today.
For now, it looks like I'll be the party's primary frontliner. I was thinking about switching Unburdened Iron to Shield Block, but hopefully I'll be fine without it. Unburdened Iron feels more thematic as someone who has been adopted by dwarves and it gives me more mobility than other Mountain Style Monks. And Dario will be close in hp with me as well, so we'll be mixing it up in melee together.
For my badge number... what do you guys think about a simple system for letter designations? Might just be an Academy batch thing, ie. Evin and Felix would have been trained in the same batch or cohort or whatever its called.
Unless we decide on something, I'll choose #D44. Don't have a particular reason, just feels earthy and stable to me.
GM Catto |
Usually badge numbers can be just what is assigned like #123 or #004. For this just stick with numbers as it is really just fluff. I will be closing my recruitment laster today. I'll also give the first post as well soon.

Thankfully, it wasn't #P69 ... that's some Black Widow level undercover training there ;)
But for real though, fluff is the stuff of legend!
Like the plot of HP was really moved forward with 'oculus reparo' & 'episkey' ... nope, it was not, not so much at all. But #DAMN that is fluff of flavor for sure!
So like something at least a little thematic could be cool: 00x has probably been overutilized by James Bond, but what about #77x?
Where like #770 is the boss, and #777 is reserved for how we refer to the fallen. #77x is no better than anything else, just 7s can be thought of as lucky, and it would make #777 "the lucky ones" - those who gave it all for the squad.
Just my thought :)

Gotcha, no letters. In that case I'll go with... #374 instead. Looking forward to getting started.

I'm not sure I follow exactly. 77x's would be what exactly? Like secret agents? Or would 77 be the first two digits of Edgwatch badges? Or would 77x just be for KIA guards? But also 777 is for KIAs? I think it's a cool police code for us to call the dead "sevens" or for verbs, "they got Seventy-sevened" (Seven seventy seven seems like a mouthful). Dunno if that should have anything to do with official badge numbers though.
GM Catto |
As said, stick with 3 digut number combinations. Also, go ahead and post introductions to arriving at the locker room of the Precipice Quarter precinct.
GM Catto |
When able, please put down the token you'd like to use to represent you in the game. Weekends are low to no positing days.

It's ok Felix, I can add them or the players can, no issue. Slides are up top and are free to you to use to move characters around and if needed for you all to make your own for note taking or to keep track of something as we go. The second slide is also for you all to use to keep track of actions.
GM Catto |
I have set up your tokens on Slide 5. Do change your positions as you see fit. As well on Slide 2 Place your character where you'd like to be position wise in the future.

Only on a crit fail it appears. No one has done that though Dario came close to such.

I can only hope that my dice remain as confused and as swingy as they are right now for the whole campaign.

I don't want to punch these guys out if I can help it. Can I try to make diplomacy checks to get the dwarf to stand down? I still haven't damaged him personally, but I know it's not technically part of the rules once initiative rolls.
Javor Durrandon |
Dario knocked out the halfling and I was trying to use Treat Wounds (which takes 10 minutes). I definitely failed the check though.
The cleric just failed a will save on sleep right? No damage otherwise.
The dwarf took 5 damage? From Evindyl I think?
I think that was all the aftermath.

Yes
Dwarf took 5 damage but was healed. He also has some debuffs on hum atm from spells.
Only you took damage in the party.
The halfling was taken out to 0 but all non lethal damage.

Yea the fine is justbreally writing them up on a ticket.

I'll have to say that was definitely a crazy 1st session, far differently handled than my other table.
Things will be definitely interesting. New post in a little bit.

Just gonna drop this here and give us the look!?!?!?
Let's hear it!I'm sure they're tamer ...
Aced every single check, no combat whatsoever. Let them walk too.
Agatha Wytchlight |
Even a bit of character interaction. Nice encounter. :)
And my first roll in combat was a crit. A good omen.
Agatha is a rather by the book person, and she has little room for compromise. But she can be persuaded to be more lenient if someone thinks she is a bit harsh.
She is a letter of the law cop.

What I'm taking away from this is: Dario ruined everything. Check!
;)Evindyl still thinks Dario is cool and is excited for Agatha to lose it on someone. (and thankful that Felix can keep them all grounded)
He also still wants to stick an arrow in the dwarf and then heal him ...

Sorry for the quietness on my side folks, bad migraine these past few days. I'll get a post up tonight.
