Well, first of all, I don't think any of us are here to reenact real life. I have enough of that in real life.
Second, in my opinion, that's only rarely what happens and when it does, it makes the news.
Third, respectfully, what you're missing is that it doesn't matter what her attitude was. Only the evidence matters. Officers are supposed to be professionals, not thugs with badges. So she got mouthy, so what? She didn't hide evidence (that we know of) or pick up a weapon or make threats beyond the very legal one of complaining to our superiors. She was aggravated and Evindyl responded by ratcheting up that aggravation.
Why does she need any sort of a 'get out jail free card'? She's not done anything wrong that we know of. Other than annoy some cops.

GM Catto |

Yea I'm not really following you well Evindyl, I wasn't sure how to really put it, but the elven woman has nothing to do really with this story at all or the missing wizard.

Perhaps we can see this as a lesson learned, and we can avoid similar in the future. We should remember that this is a game, and enjoyment is key here. If something makes you uncomfortable, then we change course.

I was under the impression that was a character moment for Evin. He was becoming bully without the legal teeth to do anything about it. I would have been fine with playing it out in character, as long as that's what Evindyl intended.
I'm fine with people wanting to play a thug, It'll make for character drama as the cop I'm playing doesn't want to be a bully.

LOLOLOLOLOL yeah ... the opportunity for, "Hey Evin, what's up with you man?" is loooooooooooooong long past. Thank you though. That could have been fun. Funny you got that impression too, given that it was right on the mark.

I really think the "what got you so riled up" conversation could have been an awesome opportunity for the group, I think it sucks that we missed it actually. I designed Evin's background specifically around being emotionally invested in this neighborhood and in Elves ... sorry that became a problem for everyone. As we said though, course changed. I will stick to rolling dice when directed.

Felix Domblevoster |

Well, when I said "I'm uncomfortable," you could have said "don't worry, I have plan. Ask me in character." I would have been very cool with that.
You seem to be saying you don't want to do that now, but we've stopped at a perfect spot for it. Why don't we have that conversation in character now?

GM Catto |

We will be moving on a way from the scene in the next post, it has gone on too long I feel. You can talk about these action as you continue your beat.

Sorry I've been quiet, my internet went on the fritz for about a week. Almost nothing is as frustrating as intermittent internet. I rather it just be down and done with.

Javor Durrandon |

DRAAAAMAAA!
Javor is a big ol' drama queen.
I don't think the opportunity was missed at all. We can hash it out in character though, instead of debating the real-world ethics of it.
Also Agatha, re: broken bones: pretty sure magic has ways lol.

Yeah no, it was missed. I promise, it was missed. Days of discussion and then bullying a colleague "in character"? LOL, uh, the opportunity FOR SURE was missed.
The "safe word" is UNCOMFORTABLE ... right?

Take my Agatha character. She has talked about breaking limbs, and so on, but she was simply teasing Javor a bit. She would not actually do that intentionally, and she isn't that strong anyway.
I guess the "course change" didn't include the discussion about having fun, wow ...

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Okay...so...is everyone alright? I'm resetting my sleep schedule right now so I am quite tired so I can definitely be misreading things but there seems to be a lot of tension and passive aggressiveness now? If I'm wrong, I totally get it. If I'm not wrong, we should get that sorted if we're all going to continue playing together. We're all here to enjoy the game and be at ease, right?

GM Catto |

Can we stop the arguing and continue on, save this for the characters? Just be a little bit mindful alright, we are continuing onward. There is no need to argue the same point again and again.

Javor Durrandon |

Yeah my fault. I should've just dropped it. I think I kind of missed the ooc chatter and just came back in at the tail end so I didn't feel as involved. Should've just left well enough alone. Moving on then.

Evindyl |

Agatha spits on the ground, but apart from that keeps her peace.
it wasn't worth their time to continue this, but intervening would likely prolong the issue. Best to lance the boil. Her expression stayed blank.
Still, she wished the loudmouth, self-righteous monk would shut up.
I feel like Agatha only meant for the loudmouthed, self-righteous, physically bullying monk to shut up ... not everyone.
I could be wrong tho

Felix Domblevoster |

Understood. Thanks for giving it a shot, GMC.
Sorry it didn't work out.
When you're ready, please mark the campaign as closed so that it is removed from our active games. Thanks.

Javor Durrandon |

Sorry for however much I personally contributed to the closing of the game. I've got some blind spots looking back at the game. Should have recognized the way I was running my character was rubbing other people the wrong way earlier.
Thanks for trying and letting us know.
