So... we're looking at the following party:
Teka - Envoy 6
Hellih - Mechanic 5
Yith - Mystic/Soldier 8
DuQuesne - Envoy/Biohacker 8
Nimh - Technomancer 6
Twitch - Technomancer 6
That puts us at APL 6.5... dead smack in the middle. Also after pt 1, Teka and Hellih will be levelling. So for part 1, subtier will be your choice. Part 2 you'll be going high tier. Chat amongst yourselves and figure out which subtier you wish to play in for part 1.
Hellih/HK |
I vote to play up!
I know that our team lacks a frontline :| But I think skill-wise we are solid, spell-wise we should be good as well.
Yith-Naarin |
I am good either way. My current game should be wrapping up in the next few days. As part of levelling her up to 8 it's time for an armor upgrade so.... that'll help. ;)
DuQuesne |
High tier, always.
The Bot Behind the Screen |
One other thing... I know I already had you all give your SFS info... but I just started using rpgchronicles.net for chronicles and I'm liking it. So... would you all signing in here for part 1. I'll put up a new one for part 2 as we wrap up part 1. You do not need to fill out anything without a * on it, however filling out starting wealth and reputation will let me get you a chronicle with all of those sections prefilled.
So far for subtiers, I have 2 votes for high tier, 1 vote for either. 3 more votes (or one more oops I levelled up and didn't notice) to go =P.
Yith-Naarin |
My other game is done, will be levelling Yith up in the next few days. It's time to purchase better armor but thinking it over, if we go high tier, consider the party composition...Fights in this range CAN be extremely tough.
DuQuesne |
As long as everybody has a jetpack or force soles, we'll probably be just fine...
Hellih/HK |
Just for the record, my Vanguard finished his scenario. But he has less XP than Hellih, he has a decent amount of SP/HP and high AC. On top of that some abilities to lower the damage. Aravon Vanguard has a mount that gives him decent speed, but then he is limited to being in face of the enemies.
Teka Teach |
I vote for playing down.
That is in part influenced by that fact that this character has played down a number of adventures, and each of those turned into near lethal adventures.
I don't feel entirely inclined to invite an even more lethal challenge than what I've previously seen. I'll admit that does vary on the adventure, but (and I could be wrong) looking at the party this does not appear to be one that will be tearing through combats in the low tier. I'm not even convinced we would have an easy time with skill checks either. This might be overly cautious, but I rather be less risky with the part 1 of an adventure. If this was a stand alone adventure I would be more likely to say to play up.
Nimh Starfarer |
I will shift my vote to playing down. I know I don't have the most optimized character in the world, especially given half his experience is GM credit, so he hasn't really been tuned by being played.
Farol |

Are you referring to Waking the Past? You can't compare those, that GM tried to kill us, this one is completely different... oh wait :P Kidding of course :D It was a fun scenario, and a great GM :)

Ok so I have two options to play,
Hellih - mechanic with weapon prototype => he is capable to deal plenty of damage from distance. He has a set of standard Mechanic skills:
COMPUTERS +14 (5 ranks) ENGINEERING +14(5 ranks) MEDICINE +12(5 rank) PROFESION(gunsmith) +12(5 rank) PHYSICAL SCIENCE +12(5 ranks) PILOTING +12(5 ranks) STEALTH +10 - he has some other, non significant ones
He will lvl up to 6 between the parts
But he is fragile SP: 40 HP: 36
Aravon - Vanguard with heavy armor => he is capable to soak plenty of dmg. Skill-wise he brings very little:
INTIMIDATE +12 (5 ranks) LIFE SCIENCE +6 (3 rank) PERCEPTION +10(5 ranks) STEALTH +7(2 ranks) SURVIVAL +10(5 rank)
But he has SP:55 HP: 41. He has Heavy Armor so AC: 24/26, he has a mount Yasakaja which gives him 50ft speed and 30ft climb speed.
On top of that he has Dampen that can do wonders with grenades and other aoe attacks.
So I think I am leaning forward to playing Vanguard. He will be the lowest lvl PC, but his SP and HP is comparable to the one of DuQuesne, and way higher than our Ysoki clan ;) Yith-Naarin will be still the highest HP/SP PC. But that leaves the burden of doing the skill checks on others.
DuQuesne |
DuQuesne is quite the DPS - and if anyone else is carrying acid weapons, we'll have a nice sinergy going.

Looks like as far as subtiers, we are now 3 votes for low-tier, 2 for high tier, and 1 abstain. Gameday starts Monday so I'll get everything prepped for low tier. Given XP totals, at least 1 person will be levelling after part 1 making part 2 high tier. Farol: I suspect you'll be better off with your mechanic as being lvl 6 playing up in part 2 will at least make you a bit less fragile than a lvl 5 playing up. Either way, make sure you're all set up and good to go on Monday.

Both of the PC's are ready. I would consider buying armor upgrades but I can do it during the briefing. Thanks for the advice...

Character information put into chronicle generator, as requested.
I do plan to be part of part 2, but I don't know if there will be any GM chronicles. It depends what I run for family games.
Also, please note that I have a giftable reroll which carries with it +1 for my one nova.
The Bot Behind the Screen |
Regarding GM Chronicles, I just want to make sure people are aware ahead of time of subtier changes, and also to keep track of GM credits to make sure nobody accidently levels out before part 2. Since we are definitely tipping the scale into high tier after part 1, I wouldn't be concerned about applying GM chronicles between scenarios as long as you aren't suddenly level 9. Just try to make sure that levelling decisions are made somewhat ahead of time since I do plan to go from part 1 straight into part 2 with very little downtime in hopes of finishing the whole run during GameDay.

Two questions:
Which square is yellow actually in?
What is the blue vertical line across the room? Does it interfere with movement?

Hi, everyone,
I'm having a rough time for several reasons right now. For the next few days, it's possible my posts might be really brief, without much character. If this happens, please don't take it amiss; I will return to normal posting as soon as I can.

Hey just a head's up. From 13th-20th (wednesday-wednesday) of October I will be on vacation with limited access to the internet. I will try to log in and post but if that will not happen please bot Hellih
I will make sure that botting section is filled, including the penalties for the voices.
Nimh Starfarer |
Agreed. The game is just a game, but taking care of your family and yourself is important.
I hope everyone recovers soon.

Son has a cold. He's 3 so he's extra cranky about it. Wife got it too and has a chronic illness that doesn't help matters. They should be back to normal in time for me to get it.
@GM - yeah, take care of your family. Life before games ;) And don't be to harsh to your 3-year old, I am way older and still get cranky when ill ;)
Man flu is not a joke!

"What's wrong honey, we're all feeling fine now!"Plus yeah, a 3 year old is going to cough right in your face no matter what. It's a law of nature.
