Hey, leinathan, are you able to tell us if Havengul will be a common locale for this campaign, or is there going to be a point where we more or less leave it behind? If you don't want to say, that's fine.
I don't have any specific plans related to this, but it looks like some of the other PCs may.

Sorry GM that was a Typo by me, was going to put DC18, but gosh DC30! they really are a secretive bunch. :)
They have to be really. Planeswalkers in Urza's era trekked with gods and could collapse whole realities. After Teferi's f#$#ery they're exceptionally powerful but nowhere near the levels of pre-timespiral.

Isabela Calista De Romano |

“Cheery was aware that Commander Vimes didn't like the phrase 'The innocent have nothing to fear', believing the innocent had everything to fear, mostly from the guilty but in the longer term even more from those who say things like 'The innocent have nothing to fear'.”
very fitting I feel.

Trying to decide whether Karthan should take the man-at-arms remark as a careful insult or not. Men-at-arms were traditionally well paid and well trained soldiers like knights but without title which would basically be like me referring to him as mister.
But then this is a fantasy setting where its likely just a reference a soldier devoid of it's class separations.

Karthan Sternmason |

I dont think liomrut and isabela want to be found by karthan at this particular point as hes fresh off a somewhat shocking exposure that led to his current drive to bring about law and order.
Isabella could just come at him in disguise again though itd require greater care of exposure. Liomrut would be a harder sell as hes a literal demon. So itd require some very special circumstances to make that work.
Tiame might be the easiest simply because Karthan doesnt know her as anything but a strange woman. Her magic's not particularly flashy nor did she wholeheartedly jump into a brawl.

Li'Omrut |

Me myself I think as we have already split as players doing that even more will break the same. So Isabela will wait for night and head out with Li'Omrut and Tiame.
Agreed.
Normally, Li'omrut doesn't have much issue with the occasional zealot or two accosting him in the street, but he doesn't want another run in with a mob, so he thinks things need to calm down for a few days before he goes back out into he sun.

leinathan |

You want to investigate the dead guy, huh? That's one of several objectives I saw mentioned. What's your first step towards that?
As for Eliana and Karthan -- it looks like y'all have the whole day to do what you want, if you want to declare priorities.

Isabela Calista De Romano |

Well the what we do is really your area here GM, as players not PCs we don't know whats/wheres of the undercity for us to find out. Our PCs do, and that is where you need to inform us players of what they know of your world. I hope that came over well :) Just saysing as players we dont have a clue where to start but our PCs would.

Li'Omrut |

Li'Omrut is really only interested in lying low until things blow over. He thinks that the undercity is an interesting place to do that, and he thinks that after a few days he can go back topside and return to the status quo. He's probably wrong on one or both counts, of course.
In the meantime, he's sticking around with Tiame and Isabela because they're not part of a mob that's trying to kill him. Their investigation sounds more interesting than sitting in a room waiting for nightfall, but he knows that disguising him is difficult and could just impede things. If a disguise is necessary, I'm fine with him just taking a break and sitting in the inn until night comes and they can attempt to get into the undercity, or until something else interesting happens.

Isabela Calista De Romano |

I guess I disagree that what you do is in my purview (I think what you do is the only thing not in my purview), but I can see I haven't offered clear enough information yet. I'll be more thorough in the future.
That's it in a nutshell GM, it's not telling us what to do, no one likes that, its more color and options in the setting etc.

Li'Omrut |

I'll be taking my family on a roadtrip over the next couple days. I'll be back on Wednesday. Feel free to bot me.
Hi, sorry for the delay. I'm managing a possible Covid-exposure regarding my daughter, and that plus Christmas prep has sucked up my free time. I'll try and update tonight or tomorrow morning.

Tiame |
Hello everyone,
I am posting this into all of my games. First of all, happy holiday season! Wish you are all healthy and well. You may have noticed I did not post in a while. I am currently spending my days traveling to visit family, so I will not be able to maintain my pace. I will try to drop in a post when I can, however. But it will be a tad slower than usual.
Thank you for understanding.

leinathan |

I hope your daughter is healthy and safe, Li'omrut!
Don't worry about holiday slow-down, Taime. Just try to drop in later with a post about what Taime is doing to gather information.
Speaking of that -- I understand that Isabela is... selling her body? For money?

Isabela Calista De Romano |

I second that and as Li'Omrut
>I understand that Isabela is... selling her body? For money?<
GM shame on you, what kind of a Vampiress do you think Isabela is!!
Not at all, you see a 7pp spend and false-sensory-input power [Touch and sight, means a punter to give the mental illusion of having the time of their lives in 5 mins. It's the you know what, without what no you.
She just seeks out the rich and susceptible with empathy power and their imagination does the rest. If not its a slap on the face an "What kind of girl do you think I am"

leinathan |

When you get a chance, perhaps when someone else has gotten the chance to post as well, would you write a description of that gather information tactic, also rolling a Gather Information check and the d4 for the duration, and deduct that 7pp from your current PP total?

So I'm very much at a dillema as to what to do right now without eliana.
The obvious answer is to meet up with the monsters and hear them out. But, going to a bad part of town by himself to meet up with creatures that consume flesh, blood and souls while being a walking sack of meat and not have some sort of plan or a large force of armed men at his back is so wildly out of character I wouldnt even be sure how to proceed from there. Plus, there's the point that much of what Karthan is doing relies on the cooperation and aid of eliana and her fellow knights to help bear the burden of organization and back him up in a real fight.
So, unless another neutral party comes along to smooth that process of integration Karthans very much taking something of an antagonistic arc to the rest of the group which just wont do for obvious reasons. This is classic horror afterall and Karthans very much the sort to lead a mob even if thats not really what hes up for.
So im sort of left with the only choice being to let this character go NPC as a minor antagonist and come up something a bit more the majoritys speed. Otherwise im kind of just stuck playing by myself potentiall to the rest of the groups detriment.

leinathan |

I believe the answer to Karthan's dilemna is to find the other PCs, right? I mean, you're right that it's not a good idea for him to handle those ghouls all by himself, or even both him and Eliana.
He does have Leadership, with a cohort and a small cadre of level 1 NPCs that'll follow him into battle against ghouls if you want.
I'm having a dilemma too, in that it doesn't seem like anyone wants to do anything. I'm happy to just RP, maybe if it were at a different speed. I guess I just am looking for more deliberate actions from the party -- or more questions.

Im referring to the cats message about meeting the rest of the group. Not the ghouls.
I was counting on Eliana being that friendly middle ground that knew of the others well enough to smooth it out into at least an uneasy peace.

Tiame |
I want to do stuff, but I want to ease the GM strain by having a single party and one narrative, instead of two separate stories. I was hoping Eliana would facilitate some sort of common ground, being acquainted (or it seems, at least) with both Isabella and Karthan, and at least partially with Li'Omrut. My character is new in town, so not much to work with there.
In the meantime, I have a personal errand in mind, but I would need to soeak with Isabela in private on the matter. Meaning after the gambling hall scene.

Li'Omrut |

From my perspective, the only definitive story element I've seen that's not player-driven is the crazy angel, and we don't really have any leads to address that. (Unless I'm missing something.) There's some player-driven stuff going on, but for my PC, there's the constant implication that he'll get mobbed if he is seen in most public places. I'm trying to work around that, and the underground area that we're trying to get to should, I hope, loosen that restriction on him. I've been taking actions to get into that scenario.
And more immediately, Li'Omrut has sat down at the table to gamble and try and gather information, so... that's doing something.

TarkXT |

In terms of drive Karthan has one that at least ties in somewhat to the relevant plot points including dealing with the angel, the serial murders, etc. The trick is getting thw others in on that freely.
From my perspective I have three options.
Drop Karthan and come up with something a bit more fitting for the rest of the group with a bit of drive equal to him so we can avoid disruptive conflict.
Second, see if Tiame, some other 3rd party, or much much better circumstance can bring things together and work it out from there.
Lastly, continue on for a while and as things get established the rest of the group can sneak into or otherwise get in on this eventually. I can think of three fairly simple ways yall can do that. But its a slow burn play and might not work.

Tiame |
GM, if you want, I can send you a short list of what the character would be interested in the area. If that helps you. Alternatively, I can do it all in character with whoever is tending the bar at the moment, just waiting for that wine pricing. That's one of the things I am looking for.
*cough* A few bottles of wine worh 10 gp or more each *cough*
For an experiment.
As for Karthan's situation, I believe we have lost Eliana? I didn't see her post in a while, and could opt to find 'the human mercenary' instead to help bridge the two groups.
Or was anyone with you in touch with Brolof?
This is the player's last post (on the player profile - didn't check individual aliases). Finals, apparently, althought I would assume they would at least let us know what's up.
