Anschluss propels a rock into the more wounded of the grotesque creatures. The stone tears off a strip of dead monkey flesh, revealing a horrific pale, gray pulsating mix of fungi and insect parts. Ulrich-bot focuses fire and tries to bring it down, but his arrow sinks into the monkey corpse encasing the creature.

One of the monkey-wearing monstrosities runs on the insectile legs sticking out of its sides--the dead monkey's arms and legs flapping limply behind--and rises up on its hind two legs among you. The monkey body splits down the center and exposes a twisted mix of mold and insect-like parts and human-appearing eyeballs. It is so disturbing that it makes you queasy. It then closes its corpse suit and scratches Laeron's arm with its mandibles. Tiny, fungus-like bumps appear around the wound.

The one whose corpse costume has been most damaged stares at Anschluss with its unsettling, dead eyes and tries to infect his mind with pain. It then rises on the breeze and blows across the battlefield.

Another rushes forward and sinks its mandibles savagely into Quickblade's leg, tearing away a chunk of flesh, which it gobbles down. The man quickly looses consciousness from the blood hemorrhaging from the wound, which is also beginning to grow fungal lesions. The creature snaps at Anschluss, but the kayal steps out of the way (despite whatever may be afflicting him).

Anschluss narrows his eyes at Yellow. "I'll get you later," he sneers. He Hunts Green, then circles around to his back before swinging his spiked chain.

Laeron retches to try to deal with his sickened feeling.

I had thought it would be Stage 1, but you're right, Laeron, the sequence of events puts you at Stage 2. Better than Stage 3!

GM Screen:

Yellow: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 8 - 4 = 18
P: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Anschluss wraps his chain around the qlippoth and shreds it as he yanks it away. The fungal tendrils and chitinous spikes continue to spread along Laeron's arm, grabbing at his face and weapon. Despite this, he manages to cleave the qlippoth next to him in half.

The ragged qlippoth flies back and bites at the afflicted warrior, Laeron. It manages to bite through his armor into his shoulder where the bizarre infestation spreads.

Encounter! Round 2. Bold may act.

Nant and Needlework continue their tried-and-true teamwork: the puppetmaster weakens the enemies with electric jolts, the other engages them in melee.

Needlework strides to Laeron's side and aids his fight against a nasty qlippoth.

The ragged looking monkey corpse explodes when it is grazed by the lightning, and the last of the qlippoth takes the full force of the bolt. Needlework moves forward and pounds it. Again, the corpse that the grotesque creature is wearing blunts some of the physical damage.

You mentioned that Blue was moving away but its icon is still adjacent. Anschluss will chase wherever they are.

Anschluss Hunts Blue, and Strides (preferably to the far side), then Strikes.
