The link to the battle maps now has an additional slide featuring an interactive version of the Danger Island hex map. I had to rotate it on its side to get it to fit, though. I'll put green check marks on each hex you've explored, and I'm using Hotcha's party illustration to mark your current location. You'll probably have to zoom in to see things better!

To be fair, that's a surprising amount of damage for so little money! I can't justify spending more money on Yog's weapon, haha, because it really is more of a RP thing. His spells simply hit harder and better.

I think these are good to have, if not for the two-action activation, the 10 Fire Res is worth it. (As a find. The greater ring is cheaper of course.)

@Brainiac, speaking of the greater fire resist ring—I have the 245g Resist-5 version. To get the 975g Resist-10 version, do I just pay 730g for the upgrade?

On a goofier note, my brother was over with his Switch, so we played through Streets of Rage 4. It was only my second time playing through—love the art and music! The Chinatown stage seems to have a good look for Ruby Phoenix, particularly the dojo.

• I sell my 975g Fire Jump ring (starting equipment that I think might be useless), increasing my total gold to 763.
• I spend 730 of that to upgrade my Fire Res ring to Fire Res 10.
• We sell the boots and everyone gets 375!

(If I take the boots and sell my rings and split the sale, it’s 152.50 each. I really don’t care for the two-action move since I can do more damage with my Ki Storm.)

EDIT - that reminds me: my ki storm is extra-painful with a 3-action casting. So as long as my wings are energized, you can always to-battle Hotcha so she can fly somewhere and nuke the enemies. She could hit a whole team! (As long as there’s a square she can reach where all enemies are within 20’ and none of the Three Men are.)

@Xin, check out the interactive map. I plotted a course that gets us home by 11:30, and if we get delayed, we travel through the hex we were just at.

Proposed route:
• F2/J1 hex (9:00 when finished)
• C/Shop hex (10:00 when finished)
• I1 hex (11:00 when finished)
• B1 (home at 11:30!)

Understandably, treat wounds and refocus takes time… so we may need to retrace out steps through explores hexes to get to bed on time. …aaaand not go to bed wounded!

I must have been tired this morning, as I overlooked your exploration of one of the hexes (the one with C and G1 in it). This hex includes a fighting arena on a cliffside beach, as well as the den of a large black scorpion. We'll assume the scorpion was out hunting when you visited its den so there was no encounter! :)

I’m thinking it’s better to activate the wings this round. If I charge them and ki storm, they will beat me with those sticks!

Fair point. I was thinking in terms of getting to them.

The problem is that "To Battle!" requires the recipient to act "immediately". So I can't give Esh or anyone else the extra attack if they're not in contact with the enemy. I think I'll delay.

Correction: Xin-spired would add +1, and my roll would be 41. I typed my post in my notes app, anticipating Xin moving close, then copy-pasted in the car as I saw 3 new posts were up. But one of the three was Brainiac’s, and Xin had not yet posted, so I removed the +1 and edited in that I struck the blue twin after she was knocked prone, plus the blue-text comments. But I forgot to remove the “Xin-Spired” notation.

The roll is my normal attack of +23. The +1 for Marshall Inspiration is not included.

I like Xin’s idea to explore and simply challenge teams that we meet.

Maybe at the end of active hours, we retrace our steps on a parallel path, able to detour through explored hexes if we feel like calling it a night.

North? — see interactive map for a proposed route. We may not be able to go that far, but that’s my thought. Feel free to disagree if the coast seems too far off the beaten path.

I was going to say a grid pattern, but honestly it doesn't matter. So long as we start knocking out some exploration and eventually move inland, too. With each hex being half a mile, Hotcha's proposed route is only five miles. Even on sand we should be able to easily get to that whole route in less than a day.


Remember, some hexes take more than 1 Travel action to traverse, and each travel action is 30 minutes.

“In open terrain, like a beach, plain, or open water, using 1 Travel activity allows you to move from one hex to an adjacent hex. Traversing a hex with difficult terrain (such as a typical forest or hilly region) requires 2 Travel activities, and hexes of greater difficult terrain (such as a steep mountain or typical swamp) require 3 Travel activities to traverse.”

I think it’s all good. Once we get to a certain time of day we can hop on blue. All (unexplored) hexes being unknown, the exact route doesn’t matter.

I remembered! My 24/20/16 was Xin-spired, and 25/21 is a Xin-spired Ki Flurry. Flanking to lower AC helps too!

For my 75-damage combo, Xin-spiration pushed my attack one point over the foe’s AC!
