Kelda nods as she finishes getting her gear on and picks up her hammer, "Right, no rushing in." She says, looking over at Sapphira.

F Human Sorceress 3; HP: 14/18; AC: 12, FF: 10, T: 12; Init: +2; Fort: +1, Ref: +3, Will: +4 Perception +4

Sapphira lets out a dramatic sigh, "Yeah, yeah...I got it. Sheesh."

Finishing putting on her armor, and grabbing her weapons, Jade creeps forward in relative silence, bow in hand, looking for a vantage point from which she can spot the goblins.

Female Dwarf WarPriestess/3 HP 18/27; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +2, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +6 (+8 vs unusual stonework)

Not nearly as stealthy as their new companion, Kelda stays back a little ways as to not give them away.

F Human Sorceress 3; HP: 14/18; AC: 12, FF: 10, T: 12; Init: +2; Fort: +1, Ref: +3, Will: +4 Perception +4

Trusting her sister's senses, Sapphira stays back a bit with the others as well, while her sister scouts ahead, but holds her crossbow at the ready in case of attack.

Basil follows behind Jade, trying to keep quiet.

Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

This is a flat area, so there's no vantage point unless you'd like to climb a tree.

Jade sees a pair of hobgoblins and six goblins wandering out of the forest and heading toward the road.

Female NG Human Slayer 3 | HP 23/30 | AC 16 T 13 FF 13 | CMB +3, CMD 16 | F: +6, R: +6, W: +3| Init: +3 | Perception: +8 (+10), SM: +6 | Speed 30ft | Active conditions: None.

Quickly doubling back, Jade relates the sighting to the others.

"An ambush might work, but rushing straight on into them would be a mistake." she states

Female Dwarf WarPriestess/3 HP 18/27; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +2, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +6 (+8 vs unusual stonework)

Kelda nods, "Alright, do we want to try and flank them and just attack, or should we fan out and confront them first? I didn't know if we wanted to try and get any information out of them first, or try to find out what they're doing out here before systematically destroying them?" She inquires a little quietly as not to attract the attention of the small party of goblinoids nearby.

F Human Sorceress 3; HP: 14/18; AC: 12, FF: 10, T: 12; Init: +2; Fort: +1, Ref: +3, Will: +4 Perception +4

Sapphira rolls her eyes, "What's to know? They're evil murdering bastards, bent on destroying this entire valley. They need to die." She whisper yells, the frustration and anger she feels towards the little green beasts obvious, even in her whispered tones.

Female Dwarf WarPriestess/3 HP 18/27; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +2, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +6 (+8 vs unusual stonework)

Kelda just sighs and looks towards the others to see what they wanted to do. She would handle it however the majority wanted to deal with it. She didn't even know if the goblins would be willing to communicate with them, even if they could.

Female NG Half-elf Druid (Mooncaller) 3 | HP 22/26 | AC 14 T 12 FF 12 | CMB +2, CMD 14 | F: +5, R: +3, W: +6 | Init: +2 | Perception: +9 | Speed 30ft | Enlarge 6/day (Used: 1) |

"Attempts we've made to communicate with them, or appeal to reason in the past, have only given up any element of surprise, and nearly gotten us killed." Lysithia points out. "With them outnumbering us, the best thing we can do is take out as many as possible before they can react."

Female Dwarf WarPriestess/3 HP 18/27; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +2, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +6 (+8 vs unusual stonework)

Kelda nods, "Yeah, I forgot we tried that whole talking thing before. It really didn't go well, and I almost lost you. Not something I'm willing to repeat. So, how should we approach the little buggers?"

Female NG Human Slayer 3 | HP 23/30 | AC 16 T 13 FF 13 | CMB +3, CMD 16 | F: +6, R: +6, W: +3| Init: +3 | Perception: +8 (+10), SM: +6 | Speed 30ft | Active conditions: None.

"If we can use the cover of the forest we can start with shooting at them, before we engage up close, hopefully pick a few of before they realize what's going on." Jade suggests

Female Dwarf WarPriestess/3 HP 18/27; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +2, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +6 (+8 vs unusual stonework)

So, couple of questions. Is the goblin group headed toward, or away from us on the road. Is the treeline close enough to the road to provide us with cover while we fire at them, and are we close enough to reach them from the trees? Just trying to figure out where everything is in relation to everything else, to help us figure out what to do.

You are in an open grassy area with a couple of trees, but they do not provide enough cover. The goblins are heading to the road toward Cooperton (the one you came down). They are about 250 feet away now.

Female Dwarf WarPriestess/3 HP 18/27; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +2, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +6 (+8 vs unusual stonework)

I don't think we can be sneaky then, and there's no way we can let them get to Cooperton. I say we just rush em and try to put them down as fast as possible. Unless someone has a different idea of how to ambush them?

Female Dwarf WarPriestess/3 HP 18/27; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +2, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +6 (+8 vs unusual stonework)

They're kinda approaching at an angle with the way they're coming at the road, and since there isn't much cover we may want to kinda split up and try attacking from different angles? Before we do that though and get too far away from each other, I could cast Bless. What do you think?

Female Dwarf WarPriestess/3 HP 18/27; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +2, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +6 (+8 vs unusual stonework)

I also have Protection from Evil that I can cast on whoever needs it the most for a little extra Protection. I'm thinking either Basil since he's a brawler, or Sapphira since she's a magic user and pretty squishy.

Female Dwarf WarPriestess/3 HP 18/27; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +2, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +6 (+8 vs unusual stonework)

As they are not fully in the forest as of yet, Kelda looks around at the sparse trees and considers their options, "I'm not sure these few trees will be enough to offer concealment from our enemies, but I do have a couple protective spells I can cast before confronting them. That way, even if we can't really sneak up on them, at least we can be a little better prepared."

Male Human Brawler 3; HP: 30/30; AC 14 T 13 FF 11; Fort +5 Ref +5 Will +0; Init +2; Perception +4

"Focus on the bigger guys first, then the small ones," Basil suggests. "We can lay low until they get close and maybe get the first strike in."

Use stealth and hope to beat their perception when they get close enough?

Female Dwarf WarPriestess/3 HP 18/27; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +2, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +6 (+8 vs unusual stonework)

I don't know how stealthy I can be. I don't think Dwarves in armor were made to be stealthy, but I'll do my best.

Kelda nods, "As soon as they get a little closer I'll cast my spells, so everyone try to stick kinda close together just until we're ready to engage.

Once they're a little closer, I'll go ahead andcast Bless on everyone and PfE on Sapphira.

F Human Sorceress 3; HP: 14/18; AC: 12, FF: 10, T: 12; Init: +2; Fort: +1, Ref: +3, Will: +4 Perception +4

What's the range on magic missile again? I need to be far enough back to have time to prepare, like cast gravity bow, but not so far that I waste the spell before they get to us. Also, what's the range on a light crossbow again? I'm sorry, I don't have the rules thingy that I can look stuff up on, on my phone. Also, at lvl2 I think it's just 1 mm at a time at 1d4 right? I'm trying to make sure I remember correctly.

Magic missile has a range of (100 ft. + 10 ft./level so 120ft and yeah 1d4+1). Between that and a light crossbow ( range 80 ft, Sapphira can stay out of danger and pick them off from a distance, so it might be best to put the protection spell on Basil. The longer he's on his feet the more damage they take and the less likely they are to rush us if they're dealing with him.

"If they spot us, or when we're ready before they get too close, I can slow them down, and if we're lucky, trap a few of them, making them easier targets. It might also make it so we only face a few of them at a time." Lysithia whispers.

I'm gonna do this before everyone starts splitting up and attacking

Before everyone starts going in different directions, Kelda says a quiet prayer to Torag asking for strength to defeat their enemy. She then goes over to Basil, and touching him on the shoulder, she utters another brief prayer and imparts a little more protection from evil on him.

Cast Bless, and protection from evil on Basil

With the spells cast, and her Warhammer in hand, Kelda moves closer to the approaching group of enemies. Putting herself in a position to intercept the hobgoblin on the opposite side that Jade moved to, Kelda prepares to charge the enemy.

Without a current map up, I wasn't sure where to say I moved to, but I will charge the hobgoblin that Jade isn't targeting. I will move my full movement to get myself in position, and then I will charge said hobgoblin as soon as they are within charging distance. Does that make sense?

F Human Sorceress 3; HP: 14/18; AC: 12, FF: 10, T: 12; Init: +2; Fort: +1, Ref: +3, Will: +4 Perception +4

With her loaded crossbow in one hand, Sapphira uses her inherent hand to signal to her sister that she is taking up position on the other side of where they will come out on the road, about forty feet back from the edge of the road. When she finds a good spot to wait, Sapphira whispers a few words and waves her hand over her crossbow, making it a little more dangerous.

I'm gonna take up a spot on the other side of the road, across from where my sister is so I can fire on the hobgoblin and goblins on the other side as soon as they get close enough. I'll move further back from the fighting if I need to once it starts. Cast Gravity Bow, and fire as soon as they are within range.

F Human Sorceress 3; HP: 14/18; AC: 12, FF: 10, T: 12; Init: +2; Fort: +1, Ref: +3, Will: +4 Perception +4

I'm basically taking a place on the side of the road that Kelda is gonna be attacking from, so kinda like her backup. I should be able to get off a shot before she rushes the hobgoblin since I have more range? I'll have to wait till the map goes up before I can say specifically where I am.

Grunting in pain as the goblin's small arrow hits home, KLysithia focuses on a point well behind the oncoming goblins calling to the area's verdant life and grasses, plants and roots reach up, grasping at every creature within reach to hold them, trapped in their grasp. "Stay back and fight them at range, engage the ones that get out!"

Cast entangle, centered on a spot a bit past a, 4-5 so the 40ft radius circle encompasses almost everything out to C, 10 - I,1

Creatures that fail their DC 14 Reflex save gain the entangled condition. Creatures that make their save can move as normal, but those that remain in the area must save again at the end of your turn. Creatures that move into the area must save immediately. Those that fail must end their movement and gain the entangled condition. Entangled creatures can attempt to break free as a move action, making a Strength or Escape Artist check. The DC for this check is equal to the DC of the spell. The entire area of effect is considered difficult terrain while the effect lasts.

An entangled creature moves athalf speed, cannot run or charge, and takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity. An entangled character who attempts to cast a spell must make a concentration check (DC 15 + spell level) or lose the spell.
