2 workweeks (Tier 1): +1d6 damage to melee attacks that hit that target
5 workweeks (Tier 2): You can use your reaction to deflect an incoming attack on your Warbrother, increasing their AC by a number equal to your proficiency modifier (Bear in mind that the conditions still apply, we must both be withing 5 ft of the attacking enemy.)
10 workweeks (Tier 3): +1d8 damage to melee attacks that hit that target
So yeah, I think this is where we left it. The AC bonus applies to the one attack, acting sort of like multiattack defense. Since it costs a reaction, I'm fine with including the bonus damage on reaction attacks.
I think we should just roll with this and adjust down as necessary, rather than starting weak and building up, if needed at all. Seems pretty solid. Thoughts?

Sorry team. I've a business trip leaving Tuesday afternoon returning Friday night. And, I've visitors at my house leaving next Tuesday. So, my posting will be limited for a week starting this Tuesday. Bot me of course.
cheers

Move, Dash and Help Simon break the enchantment, if he gets a free Move from his mount
Yes, both you and the mount can Dash if you dismount. It would be mastiff dashes for 80ft, you dismount (costing 12.5), then you Dash for another 42.5. We were saying you were following along 60 ft away. Are you getting adjacent to shake/punch him?

yes. It was simultaneous. He'll eat the AoE and not meta

The intent is that Donal is going to pin him to the ground and bring the mace down on his head again and again, unless someone else stops him. It is clear that Donal takes no pleasure in this, but seems to feel that it is his duty. They are a threat to be removed. If you want me to roll it out, or any of the PCs wants to stop me, feel free.
Yes you can do what you wish, no rolls necessary. The man knows life is just the beginning, learned from his time Plane Shifting with the cambion. While that knowledge can't erase his instinctual fear and human desire to hold on to life, his disease is already terminal and a quick death might be an easy sell.
If none object he'll be beaten to death on the side of the road.

This is one of the first times that I have played a morally gray character... not entirely sure if I like it... :p

@GM
Are still planning on giving a rebuild at the next level? Hope so. While I'm keeping the whole Mal halfling veneer, I would want him to shift his class from sorcerer to scribe wizard and his race from Halfling to Deep Gnome from MPMM. He currently has 120 feet Darkvision from his sorcery origin, so the race actually represents well.
Since the shift will move his high stat of Cha to Int, it will take the form of enlightenment from his new Shar book that he's been reading since Baldur's Gate. And less than sunny disposition and my role-playing will represent better with a lower Cha.
I think he'll be more effective in and out of combat, primarily because I'm not fantastic at playing sorcerers. Really prefer wizards.
Thoughts?

Are we rolling hp, or take average, I can't remember?
EDIT: Looks like I took average. Update done! So easy for a Champion Fighter!
"Mal" Malaric
Stay a halfling with the blessing of Shar, and mechanically be a deep gnome.
"Mal" Malaric
I had accounted Identify and See Invisible from the scrolls they had purchased before. Because you gave him a 100gp pearl. Hope that's ok.
And, bought Leomund's Tiny Hut with the dragon loot preparing for the transition.
Will update the profile later.
thanks

Yes, I was going to wait for Candlekeep/recruitment but we can go ahead and do it now. I think we've gotten enough mileage from 4th level at this point. :)
Everyone level up to 5th.
Wow!
Great!
1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 so... 5 + 2.... Now at 40 HP.

Taking advantage of the fact that we have a time of changes, I want to change the Pact from the Tome to the Talisman (this is from Tasha). I practically don't use additional cantrips, and the talisman still gives a more lively option.
Welcome any interesting ideas, what might an infernal talisman look like? So far, I see it as something like an amulet with a cat's eye stone. With such a feeling, if you look at it for a long time, that someone is really looking from there.

Well personally when it comes to hell stuff I like the Hellraiser franchise's aesthetic. The cenobites. Like, barbed wire that stitches one eye shut, a nail driven into your skull, peeling your scalp off and attaching it to your shoulder with chain and hook, etc. Hellraiser II especially has some great imagery you might find inspiration from.
Then on a very different note there are also a few classic art pieces that I like, such as this work from the late 1400s(!) The surrealist horror vibe.
However, I have to admit there's probably no greater influence on how I picture the idea of hell than the Doom games from the 1990s. Demons mixed with machinery...that sort of style whatever its called.
Perhaps you could keep the puzzle box once done with it.

Guys please give me a sanity check on my updated tracker (Avernus in the tagline), check I've got all your new hp, AC, and any other revisions.
The HD column is where I had you before the level up. I think everyone is back at 5 HD except Simon. Simon had zero, regains 2 from long resting, then regains another 2 from the royal suite.
I still need to update the loot list, but might wait until Candlekeep for that.

Team, I should also mention mounts are available here for purchase if you like. Donal and Grim still have the special Flaming Fist riding horses (brave in battle), and Fisk still has the special Flaming Fist mule (extra stubborn). The cambion left its 2 draft horses (slower but more hp compared to riding horses) and a four-wheeled wagon that has a bit more space than Fisk's two-seater cart.
You guys have just about ended the 2nd day of travel. Depending on weather and possible skill challenges, you have at max 3 more days...expecting to reach Candlekeep during the late afternoon of the 3rd. Your camping supplies are still all in good shape.
"Mal" Malaric
Thanks Mal. I must've been very drunk last night lol.
I think your Camo ability should be 3/3 in your tagline?
Thanks. I forgot the increment of proficiency everywhere
Does Fisk want to switch to the cart? Mal would join him. He's not ready to replace Corsair.
GM Infinity
Fisk's normal spot has been the cart led by the mule. Reya started riding with him after her dog died on wyvern hill. She could get a new mastiff mount and Mal could take her place on the cart, yes.
Simon could then take a draft horse or the entire cambion wagon and two draft horses.
Or you could abandon the cart/mule and all go on the wagon. Wagon offers spare parts for the cart, or vice versa should a wheel be lost or something. Cart just really has room for 2 people sensibly with the back filled up with camping gear. Wagon can carry more supplies also (1900lbs for cart led by mule, 5100lbs for wagon led by draft horse x2). No difference in overall daily pace really. Whatever everyone wants to do.
South you are leaving the forest and entering more of a grasslands type of terrain. Encounter visible distances will increase to a few hundred feet on average and mounts might be more important to close the gap quickly...especially if the enemy has good ranged attack options.
GM Infinity
By the way, can the Suggestion Spell with wording like "give me the shield" work on him at a meeting?
You've seen both Mal's Suggestion and your own Command work on the cambion, so its not immune to charm. Just remember once the task is complete with Suggestion the spell ends.
Donal the Seeker
Everyone knows bathing alone is a good way to draw the killer out..l either that or teenage hook ups...
I see this image of a naked Donal tackling the cambion out the window and just battling it out in the courtyard! XD
Simon Eltan
> Guys please give me a sanity check on my updated tracker
AC 14 (no shield anymore); if PI is Passive Investigation, then it's 11; I have prof. in Religion; HD 5
Simon Eltan
> Your HD is 4/5 because you were at 0 HD, long rested to regain 2 HD, then got a +2 HD bonus from the royal suite.
Thanks, got it! This is the current, not the maximum.
