Nnamdi's Perception (E): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Diggen seems very happy as he flits off into the wayfinder. It gives off a soft, warm glow as his essence absorbs into the metal. Miladistra tucks the wayfinder off into her pocket as the group prepares for the worst and heads back upstairs.
Miladistra finds that the barricade the kobolds had prepared is very difficult to climb over. Fortunately there is space enough for someone to squeeze through it one at at time. Much to her horror it looks as if the barricade is rigged to collapse in on the person, injuring them greatly. Luck on her side there are no more kobolds nearby to collapse the debris.
Well past the trapped barricade the group heads to the throne room of the tower. This windowless throne room sits at the pinnacle of the tower. Upon reaching the final landing of Diggen’s Rest, a long hallway stretches up to a dusty stone throne on a raised onyx dais. Simmering patches of flame burn ceaselessly beneath three square grates on the floor, giving off shimmering waves of heat despite the surrounding stone remaining unmarred and cool to the touch.
The bound devil Nashaxian has long been trapped in this sweltering room. Nashaxian lounges on the throne, his glaive lying on the dais directly in front of him.
As you reach the top of the stairs, Nashaxian looks a bit surprised and calls out to you. “Welcome, friends, to my humble abode. I trust the attendants were hospitable?”
Picture of the devil is in the Maps.

Deroff doesn't like the smell or the heat.
“Is that old ghost finally gone? Hah! That’ll teach him. He thought he could ‘borrow’ some infernal muscle for a few months and slip away with possession of his soul. It’s good to know he’s as stuck here as I am. Until the empire of Cheliax reclaims possession of these lands and restores peace to the region, I’m stuck in this tower and bound to this throne. And as long as I’m stuck here, he can’t leave under his own power. Say... You wouldn’t happen to have him with you, would you?" The devil sniffs the air. "He’s certainly foolish enough to think he can get one over on me, even after all his prior failures.”
“I’ve become quite bored gnawing on kobold souls. Since Diggen and I are bound together for the foreseeable future, it would be nice if we were up here with me so we can... chat.”

Whosoever sits upon this throne may use my power to protect this keep and the surrounding territory. Don’t get any ideas, though; the one who currently sits upon this throne is me.”
After this declaration Nashaxian’s eyes flare and the simmering flames in the hallway build to painfully hot levels as he cackles.

@Tiger- Correct, the throne no longer radiates heat, though you are going to hold off a moment on treat wounds as that is a 10 minute action. Also the DC is 15 so your second go o deroff should be a success.
@Miladistra- yes, all healing seems some sort of a check. I reposted the infernal wound below. Also in this case it looks like you were trying to do a 2 action heal? which would add 8 to your 1d8.
Eltis manages to get a little bit of healing through. While Nnamdi is out of the wounds, this infernal wound still bleeds. Miladistra runs in and helps Eltis stabilize Nnamdi further. Getting past the infernal energy the pair are able to heal him to full and stop the bleeding.

"As for you, Diggen. We feel you haven't been telling us the whole truth. It would be unwise for us to perform a ritual wherein we have not a complete knowledge as to its consequences." He turns to his companions for support before continuing. "Therefore, I think it would be wiser to hand you over to the Society for further examination. What sayest thou, fellow Pathfinders?"

![]() |

Tiger walks up to Nnamdi, head bowed low.
"Friend Nnamdi, I am ashamed that I was not able to help you. I lacked the confidence in my healing abilities that I did not even try to help. You have shown great courage today. Please accept my humblest apologies."
Turning to the others, he agrees, "What servant will not say anything to be free from his master's thumb. We are not certain performing the ritual will even do as Master Diggen says. Let our superiors decide what to do with him and this infernal creature."

![]() |

Sorry, was kinda confused with the ritual. Since Tiger and I sensed Diggen's untruthfulness, we planned to not free him from his contract. I thought sealing the throne and releasing Diggen were two different rituals but it seems that they are one.

![]() |

Well, in both cases we don't know what the ritual will do since we only have Diggen's word. If he is a slave, he could (and would) say anything to get out of his servitude. So I think the safest thing would be to not perform the ritual. We also don't know what the ritual will do to the devil either.

![]() |

You know that the ritual will completely seal the devil into the throne, otherwise it will reform into a mortal body here once again within 1 weeks time.

![]() |

Then in that case, maybe we should seal the devil into the throne. Whether it releases the ghost or not, neutralizing the devil would be a greater good.

![]() |

"So long, devil." Miladistra frowns. "You've seen how cursed this area is, right? We need to banish this devil first so this land can heal. We can deal with one idiot ghost later."
