We seem to be missing Symeon but I will push forwards

You analyze the library and play a bit with flying books. You determined that the force putting the books in order looks a bit like Unseen Servant. Probably someone set it up to keep the library in order. It does not pick books from workstations, but the ones left unattended on the ground or misplace will be repositioned.

The altered and blank books seem to be changed to deliberately confuse students. You find several texts now including contradictory statements on the same page.

You may do Recall Knowledge check with Religion to try to recall if text alterings are connected to some events, creatures, or curses.

Recall knowledge is a secret check so please give me the modifier and I shall do the roll for you.

"Welp, looks like the restroom is next. 'Bye Unseen Servant!" She calls cheekily. With a shrug, Salaish follows Gizzard as far as the hallway outside the restroom. Suddenly she stops, slaps her forehead, and dashes back to the others. "OH WAIT! Who's sustaining the spell? I mean, the Unseen Servant spell has to be maintained. It doesn't just keep going forever on its own! Right? I mean, I was waffling about whether to learn Unseen Servant or Deja Vu recently, and after a bit of research and dithering I chose Deja Vu, but I think I'm remembering how that spell works. I think."

You head towards the exit trying to recall what you might know. Dead Odo put back on his shoes. Gizzard heads towards the bathroom while Salaish has her revelation and walks back to the Library room.

Gnimish can't recall anything related to altered texts but Argoni believes that those could be some Gremlins doing their mischief.

As Gizzard touches the doors, the lights turn off just for a second, and the frame splinters as the door flings open and hits the poor goblin.

Let the darn fellow go relieve himself!, Odo thinks, hurrying up along behind Gizzard:

Wow that was quick.

With few quick moves, Dead Odo first put one of the tools between the doors and the frame and then he removes it from one of the hinges. The doors now hang a bit odd but are less dangerous.

Inside the bathroom, Dead Odo sees that it is tidy and well kept. Each
the bathroom contains a washbasin, a polished silver mirror, and a commode chair.

He turns towards Gizzard ...

I will let Gizzard roll reflex as that blow can take him down (to dying)

Gnimish rushes out of the library to find Gizzard on the floor. Rushing to the goblin's side he pulls out one of his healing potions and prepares to pour it down Gizzard's throat. Muttering some arcane words and making gestures, he casts a spell to determine whether magic is present.

"Thanks Odo... I... uh... I'm ok... but... ummmmmmmm....."

The pungent scent of liquid gold emanates from the wet goblin's pants.

"I dun haffta go to the loo anymore..."

He shakes himself dry like a dog without regard for nearby compatriots then motions for Gnimish to accompany him.

"Anyone in here? We're from the Paffinders and we're here to help!"

And just then, Salaish waltzes up, finally hopping off the train of thought she was on in the library. She stops short and takes in the tableau: Gnimish shaking himself off as droplets of liquid fly onto everyone standing nearby as blood streams down his face, while everyone else is standing around looking back and forth between him and the bathroom door. "Uhhh... What's going on guys?" She's rather glad that she's far enough away to stay dry. That puddle looks...suspicious.

"Whoa there, chef!" Argoni tries to steady Gizzard as the goblin reels from the explosion of wood in his face. The halfling looks down and jumps back as a puddle begins to form. "Uh, I think you ought to see the Doc about that..." You aren't sure exactly which condition he means, though he begins to pull out some bandages from his bag.

If the Doc doesn't return to Treat Wounds on Gizzard, Argoni will try.

Symeon, stuck in crawling around the library to find that dang book that bashed his tummy, completely misses the fact that everyone has left the room and he's in there alone. The loud sound of a door flying open and the following sounds of a loud thud breaks him out of the hyperfocus and alerts him to the fact he's now alone. He rushes out and takes in the scene in front of him.

The door hanging wrong in it's frame, everyone standing around the room or gizzard on the floor, looking a bit pained and the puddle of... definitely yellow liquid with commiserate wet pants tells him most of what he needs to know. He moves up to Gizzard and puts a hand on the potion. "Hold off on that, if we can get you to heal with out magic, it might overall be better for your body. Now tell me where it hurts, and on a scale of 1 to 10..."

He takes a few minutes to see if there's nothing he can do to help the goblin.

Treat wounds, Expert, DC 15: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

Frowning after taking the time to try the recommended model, Symeon frowns and presses firmly on Gizzards back instead.
Battle Medicine, Expert, DC 15: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

This doesn't seem to work either.
I really need to take assurance for times like these.

Peeved he couldn't do a dang thing to help, the halfling stalks off to the teacher's lounge to see if the school has clean shorts for the kids just in case of accidents like Gizzard's.


Gizzard is able to avoid the biggest part of the hit, but he is still wounded. Symeon moves and attempts to patch him together, twice. And fails. There must be something in Goblin anatomy that makes it so hard. Symeon went back to find a book Anatomy of Goblins to see what he did wrong.

Unfortunatelly That makes Gizzard unable to get other Treat Wounds from others for one hour. So potions, healing, and other Battle Medicine are the only way until the hour passes. However if you like you may wait an hour, this school is perfectly safe to place.

If you use a potion just do the roll and see how it goes.

Gnimish checks the bathroom for magic and it seems to be filled with it. There is way more here than in Library for example.

Salaish before leaving the library seems to find glowing runes that sustain the unseen servant spell. That is the scenario explanaiton However the runes seem to be fading in places and probably should be replaced. That could fix the issue with books hitting people.

As Dead Odo stands the closest to the doors he hears a silent wailing.

You can attempt to unravel the mystery of the bathroom and its doors using: Crafting, Occultism or Religion. As well as other skills or Lore if you can make a compelling case that it is relevant.

Calling out softly, Gnimish addresses the room "We won't hurt you. We're friends. We can help you. It's all right, really."

The above is an investigation piece. Each and every one of you can and should try it (if you have any relevant skills) as you need to gather a certain amount of success. On purpose, I don't share who 'made' the check and who did not. Depending on the results you get different answers . Yeah, arcana would work.

"Well, the mystery says it's tied to the northeast bathroom. And to knock. That only seems polite, doesn't it?" Argoni goes to the northeast bathroom, putting his ear to the door. Then knocking three times. "Hello? Is this one occupied? There's a bit of a line forming."

Once she's caught up on the situation, Salaish's wide eyes relax back to normal. "Ooohkaaay. So weirdness. And hey, I'd piddle a bit too if I was suddenly attacked when I really had to go. Good thing it was only--you know? Wait. I'm going to stop right there. Business. Time to get back to business. ... So anyway, I think I figured out what the deal is with the library. They just need to refresh their Unseen Servant wards. I noticed that some of them are fading. Now let's see about this bathroom." She thinks Argoni has the right of it, so she tags after him. After he's said his piece, she looks around carefully and adds: "Do you need help? We're generally good at helping."

Gizzard downs a healing potion, wipes his face, then begins walking around the bathroom, the squishing sound of wet socks in heavy boots announcing his presence quite clearly.

"Mmmm... thanks. So uh... why do the toilets make explosions? I mean sometimes if I sit on a toilet I might make a bit of an 'splosion, but they don't ever 'splode back..."

He begins to poke around at the drains to see what's going on in here. "Hey Mr. Ghosty? We're here ta help you..."

Crafting: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 1 = 10 That seems like a good candidate for a hero point...

Symeon stalks off to the teacher's room. As soon as he rounds a corner you can hear him start to rant and rave, clearly thinking he's out of ear shot. "Bloody D***ed goblin anatomy! I mean what creature can be the same species and interbreed and STILL have forms covered in fur or have TAILS! I mean there are even goblins who pretty much have rubber for bones! How is one supposed to even know how to treat a 'basic' goblin much less all of them! I swear..."

After a few moments in the teacher's room, Symeon comes back with a clean pair of boy's shorts for Gizzard and stomps back into the bathroom with them in hand. "I got you some clean clothes Gizzard." He pauses for a moment taking in the scene.
Gizzard has Odo clued, but does Argoni have a preference? If not then Symeon will cover Salaish

He takes a look at Salaish as she starts to investigate, "Wait what about asking the voice if there's anything they would like instead?"

He then stops to give the whole situation a mental examination himself.

The pathfinders analyze what is happening in the bathroom. Construction of the doors looks in order, the same as the plumbing and all of the other installations magical and mundane that explain some of the sounds.

You can't communicate with any 'ghost' being there, it may be that there is nothing haunting this place, or you can't reach it. The sounds vary frequently are hard to identify and sometimes do not resemble words.

Finally you decide that it is chaotically aligned planar energy infusing this area. While you find no traces of spirits or other undead, a sizable planar footprint shows that an extraplanar entity occupies this bathroom for several hours a week. You also know that such entities are rarely entirely quiet.

During your investigation, you discover a loose panel, hidden behind the panel is a bracelet made of calcite beads worth 5 gp. While the beads are carved white crystal, a prismatic resonance shimmers beneath the surface.

And when Argoni thought that seeing flesharpers foot was 'the highlight' of this mission Gizzard does his show. Salaisha hoped she went after her advice and searched for books on impressionism.

Dead Odo recalls the times when his body was not altered and stitched together. While Symeon may wonder why Gizzard anatomy is different than the one presented in the newly found book.

Gnimish spits on the wall and quickly turns around.

Scurrying back from the library, Salaish stops short of the restroom door. "Oh. I was going to leave them this book on Impressionism, but then don't you think it'll get flagged? Hmm. Okay. Never mind. I'll put it back." And she does so.

Skipping back, she chirps: "Dibs on getting to the lab first!" And with that, she dashes down the hall, eyes raking the walls. "HellOOooh! Is there an extra door here?"

If there's no door:
Glancing back at the guys who're all within 15 or so feet of her, she stops, puts her hands on her hips, and half-jokes, half-growls: "Can't a lady get some solitude? Shoo! Go around the corner or something!" Once they're gone, she'll walk back up to the restrooms and come back, looking again for the door.

If there is a door:
"OOO! It's here!" As she squeals her triumph, she grabs the knob to open it.

Gizzard goes off to inspect the door to the teacher's lounge until he gets the 'all clear' that it's his turn to face the wall alone.

Symeon, losing his chance to be first to the lab by the all ecompassing power of 'dibs' decides to lead everyone back to the teacher's office. "I think I saw some coffee makings back there, let's see if we can 't make a cup or two? But dibs on going to the Lab, second! I really want to see what the school is working with."

Gnimish rummages through his backpack to see if that flask he brought from Otari containing Bay-Lees cream is still there. Seeing Gizzard walk off towards the teacher's lounge, Gnimish sighs and follows, determined to keep his friend from getting hit by another door.


So In fact, Clue In can be used once every 10 minutes. So you can't use it for the bracelets just yet. But there is nothing saying that you could not try again, so go ahead and open the spoiler.

When Dead Odo discusses with Argoni how potentially a creature from another plane comes to use the bathroom, others are devising a plan on how to discover the secret doors.

Symeon takes Gizzard and Gnimish and heads to the teacher's lounge. At the same time Salaish enters the hallway:

The style of the floor changes in this hall, with the flooring noticeably newer. The walls in this area are bright and newly white-washed. A heavy wood door sits at the south end of the hall.

But she can't spot any doors. When she looks back she spots an amalgamate of flesh and a grinning halfling staring at her from the bathroom doors.

With her usual grace, Salaish chases off her allies with words "Can't a lady get some solitude? Shoo! Go around the corner or something!"

And begins to look at the walls. At first, she sees nothing, she begins searching the easter wall and then turns to wester one. There she spots a barely visible doorframe and very well hidden door handle. As she pulls the handle she discovers that the doors are locked.

At the same time, the other group enters the teacher's lounge.

Compared to the rest of the academy, this room seems informal and relaxed. A tufted sofa and armchairs provide comfortable seating, while a few tables offer space to spread out work. Letters and notes are pinned to the wall by the door.

As Gizzard begins to search the room, he finds that an abandoned standard book of translation (Mahwek) has fallen beneath one of the couches and is covered in a thin layer of dust.

You also see a door on the opposite side of the teacher's lounge. When you open it with the key you see... Salaish.

With the doors opened you have the time and opportunity to investigate the doors.

This time I will not dictate you any skills, just use what you think could be relevant.

Muttering the words of a spell, Gnimish tests for the presence of magic in the room. He glances over the letters and notes by the door (does he understand any of the writing?). He looks to see if a coffee pot is present in the room and whether Symeon will be making a batch...

Seeing Salaish, Gnimish calls to her. "Heya, Salaish! You gonna join us for some coffee too?"

Gnimish casts Detect Magic. Is there any magic in the room other than us?

@ GM Farol: Door or doors? Your post uses both singular ("doorknob") and plural ("doors are"). Also, does it even matter?

Just as she's about to call for some help unlocking the sneaky door, it opens, revealing a few members of her team. "Oh! Hey guys! I found the door! Looks like you found it too. It's really well concealed out here. Come look! I think maybe the reason the kids think it only shows up when you're alone is that kids are having too much fun hanging out with each other when they're in a group. But let's see, just in case." Salaish stops chattering for a moment as she casts Read Aura, inspecting the doorknob, then repeating for the doorframe and the door if she finds nothing.

Symeon trundles back into the teacher's lounge as he makes a beeline for the coffee press. He starts a small gas stove and puts the kettle with water to boil as he starts measuring out coffee grounds.

"Hope they don't mind me using their Andoran press. I have some of my own grounds though." He starts to whistle as he works, but then looks up when the mention of Salaish's name comes up. "Wait there's a door to the hallway over there? I mean it makes sense, why have a teacher walk all the way around when a door there is all they need?"

He steps away from the coffee makings for a moment as he examines the frame and hard to see other side of the door and stops for a moment to think of any reasons why disguising the door would be a good thing.

Gnimish produces a flask and hands it to Symeon. "Add some of this. It's cream we call Bay-lees. It's cream mixed with whiskey so it won't go bad. Warms the belly, it does."

Gnimish produces a mug from his pack and waits for the coffee.


Gnimish recognize the magic in the room emanating from the doors and it's frame. Just as Salaish, who believes it to be altered with arcane magic to be harder to find. Both of you however feel bits of the same magic as you felt in the bathroom and on the bracelets.

Symeone focuses more on coffee than on the investigation to make much from it.

Gnimish begins to look through the notes, as they are in common, he finds a student rooster which indeed does not have a student 19. But there are other numbers missing as well.

The notes and letters pinned to the wall are from current and former students. They range from updates on the now-adult students’ lives to thank you notes from the parents of current students.

He does however find a note from Headmaster Rosedell to the teacher of Magic saying that the hidden doors did not work for him lately and he had to walk all the way around to the teacher's lounge.

Looking at the note, Gnimish gets Salaish's attention. "You think this could also be another case of fading magics? Like the unseen servant in the library?

Gnimish searches for possible invisible runes on the walls.

Odo wonders why Headmaster Rosedell wanted to use the hidden doors.
Where was the person going?
Why in such a hurry?

Odo decides to check out the physical aspect of the doors.
Does the lock work-- if there is a lock?
Is there some contraption blocking and unblocking the hinges?
How does it function mechanically-- and is everything in good condition?
Or did someone create some mundane problem?
