Tyranius, what is your stance with Thorough Reports?
ArchetypeSkill
Source World Guide pg. 23
Archetype Pathfinder Agent
Prerequisites Pathfinder Agent Dedication
Your reports are thorough and informative, and putting your thoughts to paper helps you retain the information. Keep track of each type of creature you successfully identify with Recall Knowledge. When attempting Recall Knowledge checks against creatures on your list in later encounters, you gain a +2 circumstance bonus, and you learn an additional fact about such creatures on a success.
My interpretation is type is the type trait. (fiend, humanoid, etc.) and also because
Archetype
Source Pathfinder Society Guide pg. 119
Archetype Pathfinder Agent
Prerequisites Pathfinder Agent Dedication; Thorough Reports
Requirements You have successfully identified the target with Recall Knowledge during this combat.
Identifying a creature is the first step in finding its weaknesses. Attempt a Strike against the target; if successful, you deal an additional 1d6 precision damage. If you have succeeded on a Recall Knowledge check against the target during this combat and their creature type was previously recorded using Thorough Reports, you also deal 1 point of persistent bleed damage. The creature is then temporarily immune to Discerning Strike for 1 day.
But, in my last game, type was interpreted as the kind of creature. The reason would be, it would be too powerful otherwise and that this is unrealistic.

![]() |

Yup, that one has come up quite a bit as it is poorly worded. The correct way I have seen people doing it is to record the creature name for each that you identify rather than by the general type.
Example: You identify Plague Zombie. You would record down Plague Zombie and not Undead as recording by generalized type would be extremely overpowered.

![]() |

Sigh... ok. I really need to change my scrollmaster dedication feat. I don't think it will happen often that i see a plague zombie now that i am level 8. (Grumble, should have just be families because a zombie is a zombie.)
Sometimes i wonder if rules is like laws work in RL. (As i have been taught). The laws are written, but the application and the interpretation are the domain of courts.

![]() |

I still have a few purchases to consider, but I should be mostly leveled up.

Excellent. Looks like the group just finished up their scenario this afternoon. So will probably pst the Intro tomorrow afternoon to give Bardok a little time to work his chronicle and get situated.
@Rextanglin- If you could please put your characters information in the Macro link at the top of the page.

Done.
Isn't the first adventure level 5-8? Eithirim appears to be level 9.

Done.
Isn't the first adventure level 5-8? Eithirim appears to be level 9.
It is indeed. Eithirim is this a typo or do you have a character in the 5-8 range. The last two adventures of this trilogy can use your level 9.

![]() |

I do have one change, I'm spending 3 days of Downtime to finish learning a new spell we found last session, not doing Day Job.

![]() |

Sounds good. I will post the introduction while we see what Eithirim is going to do with hs character.

![]() |

I do not have the Scrollmaster feat dedication anymore. I have changed it to opportune backstab. The bonus is now +2.

FYI. Rex has the bartender background, so when he makes elixirs, they are designed after actual cocktails. If anyone has any IRL issues with alcohol, just let me know (here or via PM) and I will refrain from describing them as such.

![]() |

Garmon got back to me and said that he is lvl 8 needing 4 xp to get 9.

![]() |

Looks as if we are at 31 Challenge points in the high tier.
@Tremendous Kohl and Zhao Fen. The next two scenarios start at Level 9. Do you have characters to swap over to for the last two scenarios or are you just playing this one?

![]() |

I think they are 7-10, aren't they?
Indeed they are. Ignore me completely on that. Lack of sleep from newborn :P

![]() |

I had a quick panic there, but yes she'll level up to 7 after this one then just squeak in for the others.

![]() |

Yeah, whew! I might have a module/AP volume's worth or credit by the time we finish this one to put on, too. I'll let you know when we get close to part 2.
(Playing Malevolence F2F right now and getting sort of close to the end of Book 1 of the Agents Private Investigators of Edgewatch campaign I'm running.)

![]() |

Malevolence looks fun. I am hoping to get that one going after I finish up Slithering

![]() |

... I am confused now.
We don't know where the danger is coming from, but now we can? Can we cast 10 minutes duration spell before the fight?
And to be sure. Does Quench will work against the fire? And Omble wasn't been able to identify the demon. (That is not surprising) and the salamander?

![]() |

You didn't know which direction the enemies were coming from initially. Not until you passed the scouting checks that you volunteered two people for. The first scouting check was to just ID which creatures were coming. The second let you know where they were coming from. If you had failed that second secret roll you would have no idea which direction the enemy was coming from.
Quench will work against the fire, though there is so much of it that it will spread back to those areas within time.
You have time to prepare buffs as you see the enemy coming.

![]() |

As for your feat Omble, you recognized the demon but not the salamander.

Traveling to Atlanta tomorrow for a gig, posting might be slow until Monday.

![]() |

Gm. My reflex is + 18. I don't have the persistant damage.
Thanks, will update

![]() |

I am occuped. I need to be bot. But i think i would attack the prone beast. (and identify it as free action 26 nature or occultism)

![]() |

Oops, I forgot my frightened in my attack roll. It should have been a 24, sorry

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

@Fen- I adjusted it for those that didn't add the frightened in.

![]() |

Unless Zhao or Bardok want to have them, I would like the scrolls of sound burst. Also Rex, do you want all the acid flask? Maybe one of the fighters would want them? I could the leave the freasing bolt to you.

![]() |

Will GMPC Bardok this evening if no post by then.

![]() |

I already have moderate acid flasks and can make as many lesser ones as I want. I would give those to someone else. I could use the bolt, but I also wouldn't mind one of the scrolls as Rex is part bard.

![]() |

Sound burst is good for Fen too as I think she'd get her curse bonus damage even on scrolls.
One each Rex Omble and Fen?

![]() |

Forgive my radio silence, I’m moving to a new apartment. I’m almost settled in and will be back soon, but bot me if necessary.

![]() |

Sounds good Bardok. Thanks for the update

![]() |

Bardok can already cast sound burst, so the scrolls are all Omble's.

I'm leaving tomorrow to go camping and probably won't be able to post again until Tuesday. Please bot as needed.

I can jump at 15 feat. I stride first then i leap. (I don't have athletic. I need to change it. (My hireling is a master but i can't use it in combat.)

![]() |

Okay so you do move through some of the lava then is what I was trying to make sure of as it is 8d6 damage instead of 1d6

![]() |

Just the once per round is all either 1d6 for being near the lava or 8d6 from touching the lava.
