Henrikuaxian snaps his hand toward the southern foo dog blue, sending out a blinding ray of light.

Standard action to use Blinding Ray, ranged touch attack, if successful it is blinded unless it is more than 4hd, in which case it is dazzled.
Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

He then takes a small step south.

Tinker makes a small dent on the blue lion's skin as it hustles around the other pathfinders.

Bocke's first arrow hits the magenta lion, but makes just a small crack. Second drops somewhere else in the room, not harming anyone else.

Makras' pickaxe is deflected by the creature's thick skin. Flustered, his weapon doesn't connect again.

Tinker's rapier does easily find its target, but the light piercing weapon doesn't hold much again the tough, stone-skinned creatures. The lion merely scoffs at his remarks.

Henrikuaxian's ray hits just at the blue lion's face despite the ongoing combat and its unpredictable movements. The lion screams and is blinded by the bright lights! Just noticed that the Spell-like ability is a lot better than the 2nd-level spell with the same name...

Gillie's first swipe is a miss, but once the creature stops moving, the ratfolk gets a better position to place his fangs. And biting a stony creature, nothing better! The creature shrieks in surprise, and looks very weary.

The foo lions attempt to thwart their enemies from advancing, but it seems hard. Regardless, they are determined in their tasks and concentrate their attacks on Gillie, since his bite seems to be the most dangerous thing there is!

Blue bite @ Gillie: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 111d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Magenta bite @ Gillie: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 191d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

But the ratfolk rogue is way too slippery for the lions to catch, even more so with Bocke's deflection aura effective!

The lion at the bottom of the pit gets back up and tries desperately to climb up.

Red climb: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

And succeeds! But up top it really doesn't have much space...

Red reflex: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 2 = 18

But manages to stay on the ledge.

Darven's first punch hits the doorframe, but the next jab hits square in the jaw of the blue lion. But just before in a blink of an eye, the creature turns into stone as if it were a defense mechanism, and most of the force is deflected, leaving Darven sore knuckles. Blue lion used stony defense as an immediate action.

Henrikuaxian winces when Makras falls into his pit, but is even more concerned about the lion getting ready to wreak havok on everyone else. Then an idea comes to him! He reaches into his spell component pouch and pulls forth a bit of fleece. He wraps it around his finger, and chants a few arcane syllables. Then with a snap of his fingers, he calls out "Evil spirit, come forth and do my bidding! Slay these foos where they stand!" A ghostly figure suddenly phases into view, right in between the blue foo dog and the foo lion. The spectral figure is that of a medium sized man, with chains surrounding his entire body, flesh hanging loose and torn open in places, and with glowing red eyes. The eyes flash as they settle on the lion, as the chains chink and rattle, and a raspy moan issues from the ghost's mouth.

Henrikuaxian sighs in disappointment as the foos see right through his illusion. His ghost suddenly sits down and starts cheering for the PCs, making happy wordless noises when something good happens and dismayed sounds when something bad happens.

Seriously, dice bot is killing me here! Right out of the pit like it is nothing, both of them seeing right through the illusion. Grumble grumble grumble. Ok, I'm done griping now. Going to stop concentrating on the illusion, but lingering illusion will keep it around for 2 more rounds. So we get a ghostly illusion for two more rounds!

Seeing Gillie grabbed by a lion, Henrikuaxian turns to his next trick. He pulls a small bit of butter out of his pouch, and shortly thereafter Gillie is coated in a fine layer of grease!

Sorry, no liberating command, but I do have grease, best I can do. Casting grease on Gillie, gives a +10 bonus to escape the grapple and a +10 bonus on CMD to avoid it in the future. And hopefully leaves a bad taste in the lion's mouth to boot!

Create pit duration ends:
When the duration of the spell ends, creatures within the hole rise up with the bottom of the pit until they are standing on the surface over the course of a single round.

Grabbing the lion's attention gives Darven the chance he needs. Flowing around the Lion's attacks, Darven attempts to grab the lion's mouth.

Red lion bite @ Darven: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 121d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
But its again totally unable to perform in this high-stress situation, soon finding the monk using all kinds of wrestling moves against it. The lion is now grappled.

Botting Bocke. I don't understand how coordinated shot could help, since it would require someone else to have the same feat as well.

Bocke tries his trusted tactic and shoots arrows in the fray.

Oh wow.

Tinker's rapier hits, but is unable to penetrate the lion's tough skin.

Makras waits patiently, and as soon as Henrikuaxian's magic missiles hurls through the air to strike the lion, the surface is now level with the rest of the room. The desk, where the pit was, has turned on its side and shows signs of damage.

Botting Makras' delay turn as well.

Makras +1 heavy pick: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 = 221d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Even though it connected, it made a lousy 'dink'.

Just as Gillie is about to rip and tear the foo apart, it again turns into stone. While deflecting much of the damage inflicted, it still starts to look very beat.

The lion, instead of trying to free itself, lashes onto Darven.

Red lion bite @ Darven: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 8 - 2 = 181d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Red lion claw @ Darven: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 8 - 2 = 71d4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

While better at its attempts, it fails to connect to the agile monk.

Darven's AC is, by my count, 21. Mage armor gives +4 armor AC, Monk's AC bonus is unnamed, and Bocke's deflection aura gives +2 deflection AC. And grappled condition gives a -2 penalty.

Combat over!

The silence reminds the pathfinder how the music still plays above in the grand halls. It seems no one was alerted to their presence, at least not yet.

Since the secret door was pushed down by the large lion, it revealed the secret door and the corridor behind it.

The one lion left conscious look up and snarls. "We were called to protect, yet failed. We tell nothing. But you are noble, give us mercy. But it's pointless." They are adamant in their duties and cannot be swayed. It's apparent they will tell about the intrusion if left alive.

For researching purposes, this room is a small room. A maximum of 4 PCs can search the room, and for them it would take 7½ minutes (30 min / 4).

Darven considers taking his wand of Cure Light Wounds and healing the guardians but thinks better of it. "I understand you must do your duty, so must we do ours. I am sorry that our goals oppose each other enough that it caused harm. I would heal you if you like, but being uninjured and speaking of interlopers may reflect poorly on you."

Darven then replies to Tinker, "I met a blindfolded caretaker south of here who may also be warning others of our actions here. I didn't have much time to speak with her before I heard a commotion from up here. Otherwise, I don't think there was much of interest there." he then gestures toward the secret passage, "Can't say I'm not interested in this though. Maybe we should follow this together to at least see where it goes, and in case there are any more guardians at the other end."

Thanks for the bot. Inquisitors get "solo tactics" - allowing them to benefit from a teamwork feat even when nobody else on the team has it.

Solo Tactics (Ex)

At 3rd level, all of the inquisitor’s allies are treated as if they possessed the same teamwork feats as the inquisitor for the purpose of determining whether the inquisitor receives a bonus from her teamwork feats. Her allies do not receive any bonuses from these feats unless they actually possess the feats themselves. The allies’ positioning and actions must still meet the prerequisites listed in the teamwork feat for the inquisitor to receive the listed bonus.

Bocke has CLW on his spell list and would gladly activate the wand for others.

Due to me exactly using up my wand of CLW last adventure and forgetting to buy a new one, Bocke does not actually have a wand on him.

Through the secret passage we go!

The room behind the secret door and its corridor poses no obvious threats. Hence the pathfinders decide to split into two groups, one searching the room where the combat happened, and the other three in the secret room.

Secret room

Two rows of tall bookshelves flank the imposing yet beautiful wooden desk that presides over this room. Over the door hangs a portrait of Grand Prince Stavian III, portrayed wearing an especially smug grin. And yet another large relief of a lion's head adorns the southern wall.

Perception DC 20:
This room too has a secret door behind the lion's head, and the way to open it is just by pulling a lever under the desk. Simple!

This is a medium room with no extra skills to search with.

Since you are to split up, please describe where your skill check takes place.
