Voices in My Head |
For those that haven't met him yet, Voices is an idiot (int 5 & wis 7) who occasionally gets confused and thinks he is a little goblin. Generally speaking either his Eidolon or Familiar tell him what to do since both of them are smarter than he is. Though he also usually perfectly happy to follow any directives from any of his allies.
In PFS rules, he can only bring one or the other along for a session. There is no clear answer on whether or not he can 'wake up' the second if the first is incapacitated during a session (GM call). Hasn't come up so far.
The eidolon is a very large squirrel (size small category) agathion (NG) that is very friendly, polite, and talkative. She tries to solve everything by discussion. She has Diplomacy +19, Bluff +6, Intimidate +7, and Sense Motive +5. Does not yet have the true speech ability. So far only speaks common, nagaji, celestial, and infernal. So decent diplomat, but not as good as a focused bard or anything like that. When Squirrel is making suggestions, Voices is also a pretty nice guy with an even temper who tries to stay out of fights.
The familiar is a mangy alley cat (in a couple of levels, it will be a cacodaemon) and is just as polite as you would expect from a cat. He is sneaky with Stealth +21, Perception +16, low-light vision, and scent. Excellent scout, but can't disable traps or see in complete darkness yet. When Cat is giving the orders, Voices is much more disagreeable, antisocial, and is as likely to wallop someone with his big hammer as anything else.
The group doesn't appear to have a focused scout or face character.
Reggie has Diplomacy +8
Reckum and Khugron have Bluff +1
Allanen has Sense Motive +17
Rekum has Stealth +5
Allanen has Perception +17
Mavaro has Disable Device +5
I'm looking to see if any of you have opinions on which one you might prefer I bring. If no one expresses a desire, I will just see which strikes my fancy as the Venture Captain sends us off. I have a blast playing both of them.
Allanen |
Have not played Al in a while and need to update his sheet. Looks like I need to choose his wandering spirit to be Life so he can heal a little better for this group, right? He will be able to channel but not selectively. Normally he goes Fire and becomes a little more blasty.
Allanen |
Had and older version in Herolab. Still updating - Looks like he is normally Life and Battle or Life and fire.
GM Watery Soup |
I'm going to get started, since your character sheets won't come into play for a few days.
GM Watery Soup |
"Oh, well, a guy what don't want his name known's sittin' in on our briefing...that always makes me comfortable and not at all suspicious,"
Please don't let it be an OOC discomfort.
I'd make up a name/story, but I've never played any Shadow Lodge scenarios, so I don't know anything other than "they used to be a faction and now they're not."
The character is unnamed in the scenario, but supposed to be some kind of patron for the party. It's implied that the Pathfinders you're searching for worked for the Shadow Lodge, but, again, I don't want to make something up and have it be any more or less significant than the unknown metaplot.
Reggie Bottleberry |
It's no problem. The Shadow Lodge is...shadowy so it makes sense that there would be a nameless patron involved. Reggie will just chalk it up to them being covert.
Khugron |
Mavaro aka Papa Òxọ́lé and Allanen have made it so I guess two aids for the next one to roll. I guess Voices in My Head should be next, followed by Reggie, Reckum, and then me.
GM Watery Soup |
Just so everyone knows, I'm going on vacation for a few days. I'll still have Internet but my posting schedule may be different.
Voices in My Head |
And I'm not even raging or using power attack yet!
But yeah, when you can get some buff spells up before combat even starts, it makes a huge difference. If we had been walking up to parley, with no buffs, it would have been quite a bit harder.
GM Watery Soup |
Minute per level spells are gone. Maybe an hour-ish? I assumed you scoured the rooms.
Mavaro aka Papa Òxọ́lé |
I assumed anything from before the door combat was gone, but we would cast a fresh batch once we were near the throne room.
Allanen |
So eve 10 minute/level spells are gone, or close to gone, depending on caster level. My barkskin was 50 minutes so is gone.
Khugron |
I am thinking that Voices in My head and I take out the guards, the rest of you deal with the boss. When we are finished, we will be close enough to pin him down either direction.
Khugron |
I delayed so the -4 for non-lethal would not be as painful. The dice roller proved otherwise. I still have my reroll and if he is not taken this round, then I will use it if needed.
GM Watery Soup |
You have earned the Efreeti's Wish boon on your Chronicle. Each of you needs to choose one of the following options, which I will lock in on your Chronicles.
Efreeti’s Wish: You secured a wish from an efreeti and managed to prevent her from twisting the wish against you. Choose one of the following benefits and cross the others off your Chronicle sheet.
Wish for Glory: You regain 2 spent Prestige Points, but any points that exceed your Fame must be spent immediately or it is lost.
Wish for Power: You may cross this boon off your Chronicle sheet to gain a +6 inherent bonus to one ability score for 5 minutes.
Wish for Wealth: You earn an extra 350 gp for completing this scenario.
Mavaro aka Papa Òxọ́lé |
I'll take the prestige, which will immediately be spent on a wand of cure light wounds.
GM Watery Soup |
Reggie and Mavaro, your Chronicles are uploaded. Please check them over and let me know if anything needs changing.
I will upload the others into the same folder when they are done.
Reckum |
A wish for power! Bwahahaha! XD
And thank you for the lovely game, GM. You did an excellent job bringing the NPCs to life and keeping things moving smoothly and at a good pace. Unlike Rowdy’s steak, your work was well done!
Mavaro aka Papa Òxọ́lé |
Everything you did looks fine. The subtiers are a little weird, and I may regret taking the prestige since I can't afford the huge armor...
Thanks again for running. Maybe next time, the character these are going to will be in tier and you can meet him.

I think my money is off.
I think I should be getting the out of subtier money since I'm 5th level. (if you can add the 350 in that would be good, too.)
GM Watery Soup |
The game was run low tier, so the 7s (Khugron and Mavaro) got OOT, and everyone else got in-tier low-tier.
But your question has me worried now (those fights did seem woefully under-challenging) - did everyone report their level correctly? I counted 5, 5, 5, 6, 7, 7, for an APL of 6, solidly low-tier.
---
Reggie: I've added in the 350 and uploaded a revised Chronicle.
Reckum & Allanen: Your Chronicles are uploaded.

Ok...I think I'm with Mavaro, then...the tiers on the chronicle sheet are weird/wrong. They say 1-2 and 8-9 but the scenario is for 5-9's so the low tier should be 5-6 and high tier should be 8-9 with out of tier being 7.
I assume the CR's in the adventure were appropriate for 5th-6th level characters and not 1st-2nd level characters?
You don't have to do another sheet for me. I can add it in.
