Having played with all of you I think the answer is "no" and will proceed, but please PM me if you need this kind of content moderated (or anything else).

Giant centipedes are Animals, not vermin (I don't think there is a vermin type in 2e). I think Wild Empathy would work if you want to try that.

GM did Dethor notice anything about the hazard? (I assumed these were secret rolls)
Dethor was by the nets by my track; 35' away (too far for Search/Trapfinder). You had not really resolved as a group what to do/not do about the centipedes yet. People seem to be going off on their own directions.
If you want to move together more cohesively (probably a good idea), that's great! It's just not the vibe I'm getting from the group right now.
I am also moving us along pretty quickly, so I can slow my roll a bit too.
For the moment, I have assumed you all went to help Biltri and gone over to the outbuilding together. So for the moment, let's have you be grouped/ re-grouped near this rat-room and not move on till you resolve the scene. That may be a good policy going forward.

LOL!
As number of monster animals appears to be increasing, I was going to have Biltri start to push the group to focus better. But I took a gamble on the Outbuilding that didn't pay off. All's fair that's fair!

BTW, I am also OK if the party wants to narrate a non-combat solution to the remaining rats. It may not be super exciting to spend two days fighting giant rats, and Lucius earned a solution by blocking their entrance.
However i also respect the desire to roll some dice!

I'm fine with that too, but I also don't want to spoil someone's fun.
When I blocked the hole I was thinking I was cutting off the rats' escape. I was not expecting more rats to come in.
I mean, why try to come in now, rats? You've had who knows how long to explore this room and find all the food, and you want come in now? While people are fighting and killing off all of the other rats already in the room? It makes no sense.

We have someone who wants to fight them, it will not take that long.

There may be more food in the other room too; maybe they have a timeshare. (But yeah, the scenario makes these rats seem a little bloodthirsty).

Medicine +7
Sounds reasonable to me; likely the DC of the effect.
Edit: no reason at all, but do you want to use hero points if you crit fail secret checks that you know you're making, or not?

            In general, yes.
For this specific case, no. Could give some amusing results if I crit fail without impacting the actual plot or our ability to proceed with it.

Thanks for the catch!
If someone else would like Ollie as a familiar, that is fine. Otherwise I would love to retrain my order explorer feat for familiar master. I took it because there were very few druid options at second level.

Finley manifests when you open the door, so it was confusing to me how you could use diplomacy before even seeing/interacting with them.
But you can do that now, if you would have done so when you saw Finley. And we can count the roll if that is what you would still do!
