Down the steps from the platform...
Several bas reliefs decorate the walls of this colossal chamber. The wall art depicts images of dwarven triumph—smiths forging perfect weapons, warriors defeating savage orcs, clergy venerating dwarven gods, and merchants counting glittering coins—and hundreds of these scenes cover the chamber’s walls. The only surfaces not covered in sculpture are the three sets of large stone doors to the North, East, and West.
Three of the sculptures at the base of the raised platform (the area with the anvil-shaped stone) have words in Dwarven scrawled into their bases. Lebreario is able to easily translate the first two. See player handouts 1 & 2.
The first of these reliefs depicts a sinister dwarf toiling over a forge, his hammer emblazoned with a mark of a stone arch that contains a burning fire.
DC 15 Knowledge (religion):
You identify the symbol as that of Droskar, dwarven god of toil and cheating. The second relief portrays a stern dwarf pointing downward with one hand and slamming a gavel with the other, and the Dwarven word for “Oath-keeper” is written on the hammer.
DC 15 Knowledge (religion):
You identify the god as Kols, dwarven god of justice and oaths. The final relief depicts a stoic dwarf working at a forge and wielding a hammer bearing the name “Kaglemros.” Instead of bearing an inscription, this relief merely has an arrow incised into it that points to the stoic dwarf.
DC 12 Knowledge (religion):
You recognize this as Torag, chief among the dwarven pantheon and god of creation.
I'll tell you now that just putting the hammers back on the weapon rack doesn't do anything, but it at one time they were generally kept there to interact with the anvil somehow.

So, Noral (Tabar) is returning tomorrow. That seems like about the right time to attempt to return to normal posting frequency. If somebody needs more time please let me know.
GM PaleDim
Anybody have ideas on the anvil and hammer or wish to move on from it?
GM PaleDim
Okay! Given that we're approaching the end of this scenario, and the end of my tenure as GM, it's time to start thinking about who would like to GM next! Of the remaining group, Blue Moose has GM'd (and now myself), so I think everyone else is eligible.
GM PaleDim
Oh, one thing that might help: check the upcoming scenarios on the campaign info tab and if you've played some or all of them then that is good criteria to consider GM'ing next.
GM PaleDim
Irina, hope everything is going okay! I'll give until tomorrow for your turn and if not bot and move us along.
GM PaleDim
Won't be home this week end (and next week end)
Bot me as needed
Noted. Thanks for letting us know!
GM PaleDim
Okay, so that is a wrap on this brutal, 3-part arc :) I hope it was enjoyable despite the oppressiveness of some of the challenges. I'll get the chronicles worked up and report the game within the next day.
Oh, go ahead and make day-job rolls that you'd like included on the chronicles.
Wilen Proudbrew Craft Alchemy day job: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18
In addition to any feedback you have for me, we now return to the question of who would be up for GM'ing next!

That was a great run! Thanks a lot! I actually wanted to run the next arc but I am unfortunately buying a house at the moment and will need to do a lot for that after buying it so I cannot GM but would gladly continue and run the next arc.

I'm glad you liked it. I really was worried about how oppressive this arc is at times. Hopefully the last scene was more excited urgency than "lol we're gonna die" :P
GM PaleDim
The game has been reported. I'll prepare chronicles shortly tonight, and Inira if you add a day-job check I'll still add it.
GM PaleDim
Apologies, that chronicles link was to just one of the files. Here is the whole folder: chronicles

Sorry - just been swamped lately.
Perform* (oratory) +4: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
No need to regen chronicle - I can write it in. Doubt anyone will ever see it anyway!

Got the Chronicle and leveled up.
Took Resist Energy, Communal for my 3rd levels spell.

TBH, you're probably going to do the same thing that I would do, which is create a new text field like the others and put the amount there.
GM PaleDim
Is anybody feeling inspired yet to run the next set of scenarios? There's no strict reason it has to start immediately either.
GM PaleDim
One thing I should point out, is it isn't strictly the case that the next GM needs to commit to 3 scenarios. I believe the first two GMs ran an uneven number of games. We then sort of fell into a pattern of 3 each but remaining players can discuss what could work for them going forward.
Secondly, the set of season 4 scenarios was decided long ago, and whoever runs the game next can preview the slated scenarios and see if those are the ones we want to run in this group or else if there are alternatives. In retrospect, looking at the ratings for Parts I and III of my arc, I should have considered this more strongly.
GM PaleDim
Let me confirm something else with this question:
Who is interested in continuing? I certainly am :)
Juis Helfro
|
Still interested but I've hit a streak of laziness for the last couple of months and my mind is a little foggy when it comes to doing stuff.
GM PaleDim
That is completely okay, on both counts :) I do not want to push anybody to jump and start quickly for me. Really just want to try to hold the group together, even through a break so we can continue.
Also hoping I didn't kill the game :P

I feel funny saying this, but it wasn't you, it was me!
I am just ridiculously swamped these days. Otherwise I would run the next one.
GM PaleDim
No problem on that. So that said, do you plan on continuing as a player?
Inira McCullagh
|
If we were to start today, I would have to say no. But maybe if we don't get going for a while, my ability to participate might be better.
GM PaleDim
Yup, it's sounding that way. I'll do my best to keep this thread open and see where we are at the end of April.
GM PaleDim
A bump to keep this active through the month.
GM Nowruz
Okay guys. So I could imagine to start GMing two games from early May onwards: @everyone. These are two scenarios where you can play Aspis agents as pregens.

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 7th-level pregenerated characters.
Years of political maneuvering, espionage, smuggling, and diplomacy have set the stage for the Aspis Consortium's most ambitious attack on their Inner Sea rivals: the Pathfinder Society. All that remains are several key preparations that only an elite team of Aspis agents can arrange, and once the fireworks begin, these same agents must strike quickly and mercilessly to secure objectives—some shared and some connected to deeper plots—and escape without the Society being any the wiser.
In this adventure the players portray agents of the Aspis Consortium using 7th-level pregenerated characters. @everyone

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 8th-level pregenerated characters.
A parasitic faction known as the Korholm Agenda has tried to corrupt the upstanding Aspis Consortium from the inside out, all in the vain pursuit of revenge and profit. Now one of the powerful Aspis Patrons has learned that the Korholm Agenda has siphoned the Consortium's funding to build a base of operations in Nidal. This shall not stand. He has assembled a team of top agents—including both new faces and veterans of the attack on the Grand Lodge a year ago—to infiltrate the operation and shut it down by any means necessary.
In this adventure the players portray agents of the Aspis Consortium using 8th-level pregenerated characters. Content in Serpents' Ire also ties into a special metaplot element from Pathfinder Society Special #6-98: Serpents Rise. Players who have completed that special event are encouraged to bring its Chronicle sheet when playing this adventure. @everyone

So, the question for this group is:
- are we okay departing from the season 4 theme or would we rather keep to the list?
- if the former, who has already played either of those scenarios?

Blue Mongoose

I could also GM this one for six very unique pregens!! ;-)

I don't think I have played any of them also.
GM PaleDim
Checks PFSTracker...
I have played none of those sceanrios. Aren't the -98/99 games restricted specials usually? Or is that just the -00 specials?
GM PaleDim
We haven't heard from Irina yet, but with everyone else here yeah I think we can proceed with that. Thanks Nowruz!
GM PaleDim
Oh, is there a PDF with just the pregens? I didn't find them here (I'd be happy to submit formatted entries for this scenario).

Hello all. I'm going to be in nature and away from computers starting Friday evening (4/29, 5pm, US/Pacific time) until late Sunday 5/1. I should be able to catch up in all games that same evening. As my absence is over the weekend I hope/expect for minimal disruption to my games.
