CucumberTree's Untitled Campaign (Inactive)

Game Master CucumberTree

"We hired you, because you are the best in your respective field. Behold." He says with a outstretched wave behind him. Your team walks through the no frill utilitarian concrete tunnel. Pipes and conduit fill the ceiling. The red painted lines on the steel plated walkway changed to slashing lines of yellow which indicate Danger.

You walk into a very large open concrete room. Scientific equipment are scattered and in varying states of use and disuse. Two large vulcan cannons are attached to the ceiling with robotic arms. The weapons aim at a shimmering pool of quicksilver inside an upright gold frame. The oval frame is 10 feet tall and 6 feet wide.

"Mirror, Mirror on the wall." The Man says with a smirk. "Did you know the many worlds theory is right? The proof is before you. Imagine having a gateway to an alternate earth. Imagine the discoveries. The very lucrative discoveries." The Man sits in an empty chair and points his finger at the mirror. "Move that mirror a nanometer, in any direction, and you're in a a different universe. Right now we have it trained on an underground temple. The doors have not been opened, and there is enough room to set up a base." He points now at the team. "Your job is to get into this new world. I don't care how you do it. Just do it.

The idea is for players to create 3rd level npc class, and arm them with whatever modern weapons you want while escaping a dungeon.

Unfortunately one of the team accidently bumped the mirror on the other side and none of you can return home. I will decide who is responsible, and only that person will know at the beginning of play.

There will be an opportunity to retrain into PF class

I'd be interested in some multi-universal travel hijinks.

Yes, at least curious, would like to see more information on the specifics.

Well, Right now its a premise. What specifics were you looking for?

Sorry I wasn't sure how far into the process you were. If it was a blurb on interest and you would start developing it or if it was a developed idea and this could potentially become a recruitment thread.

If an interest check, there is certainly interest. It's like the movie says "If you build it, they will come."

Once it becomes a recruitment, then: what the beginning builds would look like, how we would make the pathfinder NPC classes applicable to modern experts, The amount of technical gear and weapons that would be permitted to be taken along, How modern gear would function in the 'new world.' Also general game expectations, how many players, what kind of posting rate, parameters for statistics, what variant rules you would allow, when the recruitment would end, what kind of character development you would like to see. That sort of thing.

I basically have the same questions as Robert Henry: would we be able to take any of the five NPC classes? How are we dealing with modern weapons (i.e. can we take them from the Technology Guide, from Rasputin Must Die, or from other splatbooks)? It sounds like a very interesting premise: a little bit Sliders. I'd be curious about additional developments!

To answer you both:

If you are a soldier, The warrior NPC might be the best pick. If you are a scientist then maybe an expert. Modern gear will function as it functions here. Electronics need electricity from batteries or generator. Modern guns need ammo. Take from the technology guide anything that is currently available today. As long as it can fit through the aperture.

You players will set up what is in the base. Want a flamethrower? How about C-4? Recon Drones? Motor bike?

As supplies dwindle: You can either go native (Retrain into PF Class) Or you can enter the newly oriented mirror to a completely new world. (Random Generation)

No magic to start.
Players 4-6
20 point buy
Posting 3x week or more
No unchained or 3rd party but we don't have to worry about it until you retrain

two traits.
proficiency in modern weapons is free feat

A paragraph or two for a background and personality. Personal motivations can be explored while you do world exploration
