Diazepane throws two bombs. Primary: Yellow, Secondary: Red; excluding allies from splash and extending splash from Yellow to Blue on a hit. Both will provoke from Yellow.
Frost Bomb, TWF, PBS: 1d20 + 10 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 10 - 2 + 1 = 27 vs touch
Cold, PBS: 4d6 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 3) + 8 + 1 = 18 plus DC 22 Fort vs staggered
Miss? (1=up): 1d8 ⇒ 5 Assuming that hits, Red and Blue splashed for 13, DC 22 Reflex for half.
Frost Bomb, TWF, PBS: 1d20 + 10 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 10 - 2 + 1 = 11 vs touch
Cold, PBS: 4d6 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (4, 6, 2, 5) + 8 + 1 = 26 plus DC 22 Fort vs staggered
Miss? (1=up): 1d8 ⇒ 1 on Yellow's square, bumping to a 2 so Yellow and Red take splash.

Valeros further wounds the blue assassin then Kal'Ryon finishes him off before slashing down Red.
Diazepane's first bomb strikes true but his second misses (largely because his target falls while it's flying) before bouncing so that it gets the yellow assassin in the splash zone. Between the two bombs, the man is also taken out of the fight, leaving the pathfinders alone in a bookshop with 4 dead or dying Xun assassins.
I'm opening up the rest of the map for the shop. It's got 3 floors. We're not in rounds, anymore but please actually move your icons on the map to where you want them to be as you act.

Hey man...nice shot... Valeros says to Diazepane as he bends over the assassins in case they feel like acting up. He kicks away any weapons and checks them for any hidden items that can help them escape or kill the agents.

Kioshi shrugs apologetically and checks on his horned lizard familiar that’s on his shoulder.
He then looks at the team.
“Sorry but I was quite sure that combat was inevitable so imI decided to strike first!“
Kioshi casts detects magic and scans the area.

Well, I'm not gonna argue with you on that point. Usually I'm the one swinging first...but usually I've had a drink or ten first...and a woman is almost always involved... Valeros chuckles as he looks around.

Crowe pulls out a wand and gestures, "Hrrgh, anyone use this healing wand on me?"
Wand of CLW, if anyone can trigger it then go crazy until Crowe is back to max or the charges are spent.
20 charges
Also, EbonFist, Crowe has DR1/- so that will slightly reduce the damage taken.

![]() |

Kal turns to Crowe, upon hearing his request. "I have something that might work a little better... the queasiness is really very temporary, I promise". Produced in his hands, Kal now has a deep black polished wand, his finger nails returned to their normal black/reflective shape.
Infernal Healing, but I wont use it on a character without permission or unless their survival depends on it
After patching up Crowe, Kal heads back over to the fallen "great" assassin (masquerading as an elderly woman). "It was too easy, based on her pedigree. What could we be missing?"
Not sure what to roll here...

Tofu starts working on patching up wounds as well, taking Crowe's wand and getting to work on him.
Infernal Healing with my own wand once on myself, and my own Cure Wand on myself.
Crowe took 42 damage, with DR 1/- from 5 of attacks while under Bloodrage, temp 14 hit points, so 42-5-14=23 actual points of damage he has to heal from.
Cure Light Wounds: Tofu: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 39+16=55
Cure Light Wounds: Crowe: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 23-4=17

Cure Light Wounds: Crowe: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 17-7=10
1 Infernal Wand on Crowe will heal him to full, and then 1 more infernal on me to go to full.
The elf then proceeds to cast spells to empower himself and his allies.
Find a nice pool of water or trough or hole to fill with water and then buff Mage Armor for 10 hours, Lesser Extended Heroism on myself underwater for 200 minutes, False Life underwater for 10 hours of False Life: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11 hit points, and then 1 more heroism for 200 minutes if someone wants it.
After all the spells are cast, Tofu reconvenes with the rest of his allies.

Searching the bodies, Kioshi finds that Shadow Orchid has a cloak of resistance +3, ring of protection +2, and an amulet of mighty fists +2.

Sadly, Crowe's bloodrage does not grant temp hit points that way. The bonus hit points are lost when he leaves the rage.
Also, dammitall! Crowe is now fatigued and cannot rage.
Injured, and will full faith in his allies, Crowe adopts a defensive stance.
total defence.

![]() |

When this settles, I'll take that amulet of mighty fists
[/ooc]One tap of Kal's infernal healing on Crowe. Fast healing 1 x 1 min[/ooc]
I am assuming that since there was only one round of combat, that Kal'ryon is fatigued and can't re-rage. 2 rounds in the last combat = 4 rounds of fatigue.

And, almost before it started, that interlude of violence is ended and the Pathfinders are once more left to heal in peace. A cut of the sword, a very accurate stab of the trident and some magical force projectiles were all that was needed.
I'll take your earlier rolls for your healing so mark off resources and I'll assume you're all up to full HP. Please move your tokens around the map as you explore.
As the healing is going on, the door opens, the bell over it ringing alarmingly in the quiet.
"Orchid! I've come to pick up that volume about home secu...ri...ty..." a middle aged Tien man with a thin mustache and a bit of a pot belly steps in. He looks around at the carnage and the pathfinders for a few moments.
"I'll come back..." he says, retreating hastily.

Kioshi starts to search the fallen and casts detect magic.
"Can someone please stabilize them. I do not want anybody to die!"

Once the Shadow Orchid is tied up in knots by Crowe, Diazepane will stabilize her with his wand of cure light wounds.

resistance +1, a ring of protection +1, and 64 gp.

Kal again offers his dark black wand to the party- "I promise its only weird for the first minute or so" before grabbing the amulet from the fallen assassins. Taking off his current one, he carefully stows it in his pack- just in case.
After situating the amulet about his neck, he flexes his hands- engrossed in the light reflecting off the hard, black, nails. "Yes. This will do quite nicely!"

And NOW I buff up.

Shadow Orchid could be revived but I will say that she thinks she's going to come back as a dragon when she dies so you don't have much chance of getting anything out of her.

Valeros moves up to the top story and looks about.
perception aid: 1d20 ⇒ 16rolling to aid because my perception sucks...and assuming someone else will help...also...i can't edit my saves because i'm using the same profile in another game as well..so saves are +2 each...will keep adding it in my posts to say that

The second floor contains more shelves and tables of books. A number of rolled-up sleeping mats lie in the northwest corner of the room, all in a neatly stacked pile suggesting it's also where the assastants slept. A small table next to the mats has a lantern and a few books on it. Apparently, they all carried their valuables with them and there is nothing of interest here except for more books (none of which are the Abyssium Codex.)
Bookshelves cover the north and south walls of the third floor and a table piled with more books sits in the middle of the room between two more bookshelves. A large glass display case set in the center of the southern bookshelf holds a great tome made of strange blue-green metal plates.
Behind the western bookshelf is a cot with a small brass chest underneath.
Kioshi spots a trap in the ceiling, a large blade that will sweep across the entire book case protecting what must be the Abyssium Codex.

Goran Baldaril |

[b]Well, that blade looks a little on the nasty side...think we can try to get around it? Maybe use a rope to see if we can spring it?[/b[
ok...i have two ides...one we could use a rope and see if we can trigger it safely...or second if someone has Mage Hand and spring it that way...

Diazepane will use an extract of shield and an extract of reduce person to bump his AC first.

Kal moves carefully around the space, pushing on the bed rolls and turning over the books and belongings with the tip of his pole arm.
"Not much left. here, huh"
He places his hand on himself, and a flow of energy spreads across his body. Ablative Barrier
Waiting to see what everyone else is doing

Goran Baldaril |

Don't forget the chest...I'm not touching it...with them being assassins and such...don't trust anybody. Well, you guys....mostly...Diazepane is a bit shady... Valeros barks out a laugh as he grabs a wineskin and takes a pull.

EbonFist |

Diazepane JUST manages to disarm the blade, in fact, he can feel the tension of the trigger being activated before realizing his mistake at the last moment. It's then that he figures out the bypass for the trap, and he pulls out a book whose spine has seen a great deal of wear, suggesting it has been removed numerous times.
After that, the case is all too easy to open, not even being locked.
The first person to pick up the book finds that it is extremely heavy, a full 50 pounds, which makes sense given that it is made out of metal. What does not make sense is the fact that it is noticeably warm to the touch.

![]() |

Diazepane has ant haul active, so the diminuitive alchemist is easily able to carry the 50 lb book.
Diazepane will attempt to disable any traps/locks on the chest when everyone is prepared.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
In a small, high-pitched voice, mini-Diazepane mutters, "Uh oh."

@DiazepaneAt this post I did offer a Heroism for 200 minutes, and then this post declared I was getting my buffs up, if you would like +2 to that roll, and if our good friend Supreme Overlord Maximus EbonFist the Great Uniter of the Last Cosmos would like to retcon it in.
Tofu moves up to floor 2.

EbonFist |

Strangely enough, the lock to the box is better than the lock to the book case. Diazepane is unable to pick it, though nothing terrible happens...because of the box. Perhaps the key is hidden around the room somewhere?
Though mishandling the box doesn't have any effect on Diazepane, Hao Jin left a little gift for anyone who stole the Abyssium Codex even if they were stealing it from someone who stole it. He has felt off since picking it up.
